Memoir

This adventure started all the way back in July 2017. I came home from a regular day at school and returned with my regular face but little did I know that it would all drastically change momentarily. I went to sit on the couch and eat some food like any other day but when I sat down my mum and dad explained to me the fantastic news, I wasn’t listening until they said “in Africa.” The first thought that scattered through my brain was, am I really going to the land of all the animals on earth? I’m sure as soon as I land there will be lions all around the airport. These were obviously my expectations, these as usual were wrong, I mean the Americans think that each Australian has a pet kangaroo. I then replied in 2 seconds but those two seconds felt like a year after all of thoughts that went through my head, “what?” Just 6 months later, on the 4th of the 1st I was on a plane.

Little did I know this plane would be one of the longest and stuffy rides I would ever take. The smell, it was your average plane smell, disgusting, I struggled to breathe through my nose, it felt as though somebody had put a peg on my nose. we went on to different ones, one in the magnificent city of Chobe and the other in Kruger national park. I had very little understanding of what I would see on these safaris. My vague estimated expectations were crushed by the amazing sunsets, adrenalin filled kill, the exiting chases and the foreign wild animals. On the safari in Kruger national park we stopped for an evening tea one day overlooking a beautiful river with massive hippopotami, behind the river is the most stunning and unforgettable sunset.
