Mel Gibson
"He is one of the most bankable, sought-after actors around. He can turn a room full of sophisticated women into a gaggle of autograph seeking schoolgirls. ("Mel Gibson." U*X*L Biographies. U*X*L, 2003. Student Resource Center. Thomson Gale. 24 April 2005 http://galenet.galegroup.com/servlet/SRC). You might be wondering who this mystery man is; well he is no other than the famous Mel Gibson. Born on January 3, 1956 in Peekskill, New York this American heart throb is a not only a traditional Catholic, a charitable renowned actor that stands up for what he believes in, but he is also an award winning director.
Gibson remains a devout, traditional Catholic; he's had a chapel built on his grounds. "Mel has donated ten million dollars to two Los Angeles hospitals. The Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center are each receiving $5 million, which will reimburse the hospitals for medical care for children from foreign countries who are unable to receive it in their countries because it is either unavailable or unaffordable." ("Mel Gibson." Hollywood Reporter 13 October 2004. 15 April 2005 ) Mel is strong in his beliefs, he stands up for what he believes in, and in doing so I believe he proves as a wonderful example to many. For example "the Christian Coalition has commended Gibson for his firm stance against the proposition 71, which is the $3 Billion Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research initiative on the California Ballot." ("Christian Coalition Commends Mel Gibson for His Strong Stance Against Prop. 71-The $3 Billion Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research Initiative on Calif. Ballot." US Newswire . 28 Oct. 2004. COMTEX News Network, Inc. 15 April 2005 .)

Mr. Hutton Gibson was a brakeman for New York Central Railroad that believed New York City was not the best place to raise eleven children. With this belief in 1961 Mr. Hutton moved the family north to a nearby farmhouse at Mount Vision. In 1964 Mr. H. This incident forced the Gibson's to move into cheap rented accommodations, until the legal battle between Mr. H. Gibson and the New York Central Railroad could be settled. It took three years for justice to be found for Mr.
Arguably the most popular — and certainly the busiest — movie leading man in Hollywood history, John Wayne entered the film business while working as a laborer on the Fox Studios lot during summer vacations from university, which he attended on a football scholarship. He met and was befriended by John Ford, a young director who was beginning to make a name for himself in action films, comedies, and dramas. Wayne was cast in small roles in Ford's late-'20s films, occasionally under the name Duke Morrison. It was Ford who recommended Wayne to director Raoul Walsh for the male lead in the 1930 epic Western The Big Trail, it was a failure at the box office, but the movie showed Wayne's potential as a leading actor. During the next nine years, be busied himself in a multitude of B-Westerns and serials — most notably Shadow of the Eagle in between occasional bit parts in larger features such as Warner Bros.' Baby Face. But it was in action roles that Wayne excelled, exuding a warm and imposing manliness onscreen to which both men and women could respond.
Samuel L Jackson has then came to appear in many great movies such as Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, A Time To Kill, One Eight Seven, Shaft, Coach Carter, Star Wars and many others. He has also been nominated for many of these and has received many awards for a lot of these films. He is still acting and does not seem to be thinking of retirement any time soon. He truly is a great example of a great actor who rose to fame in the time of blaxploitation and also an inspiration to all those with addiction problems as someone who was able to overcome his problem and make something of himself.

Born to teacher Jacqueline Carroll and jazz musician William James Edward Lee, Shelton grew up in Brooklyn, New York where he was provided with a rich cultural upbringing that included plays, movies, and music (Gale 1). At a young age, Lee was nicknamed “Spike” by his mother who noticed his rough nature and the nickname stuck well into his adult life. Lee went on to attend New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he created his first student film and graduated in 1982 with a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television. Being one of the few black students to attend Tisch School of the Arts, the aspiring filmmaker’s first year at New York University was a particularly difficult one. Lee’s experiences, race, and upbringing have all led him to create controversial films to provide audiences with an insight into racial issues.

The Duke takes his place in history. John Wayne, one of America’s greatest actors and directors of all time. His fame and superstardom led to many problems in his career. His image as an icon of American individualism and the frontier spirit has overshadowed his career to such an extent that it is almost impossible for the fans and writers to separate Wayne the legend from Wayne the actor and Wayne the man.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947 in the town of Thal in Austria. He was birthed into the family of Gustav Schwarzenegger his father, Aurelia Jadrny his mother, and Meinhard Arnold’s older brother, and this was not an easy house to live in. Both of Arnold’s parents were extremely strict on him as a child. If Schwarzenegger or his brother were to step out of line his parents would not hold back on the punishment. Some would even go as far as to call it child abuse. It was just they way it was done in their culture though so no one thought bad of it. It was all to make their children into people who would fit into their culture and would go on to live the life their parents wanted them to live. Due to Schwarzenegger’s drive to be his own self he would rebel to show his parents that they will not make him conform into the person that they want him to be. That is where it all started for Schwarzenegger. He wanted to live a better life, one without poverty, without conformists, and one where he can live his dreams. Se he decided to start with the sport of bodybuilding that does not have a lot of popularity and become the best in the history of that sport. He was beyond dedicated to becoming one of the biggest and most aesthetic men of his time. But when he became the best that wasn’t enough for him. He had to be the best in films too. He gave up his career in bodybuilding to become an actor in American movies. Again he started from nothing in the film industry only to build his reputation with hard work. Then finally when everyone knew Schwarzenegger he decided to take a step in a different direction and go into politics. Arnold Schwarzenegger is influential in many different ways because of how motivated...
