The Maya, Aztec and,Inca
The Maya, Aztec and Inca were 3 civilisation’s put together and then either conquered, or abandoned, but still they all left their footprint in society today. All three of the civilisation’s had a lot of similarities, but also some differences. Some similarities included how they all practiced the art of human sacrifice. Though some differences creep through the cracks like how the Inca focused on the llama, that animal majorly played importance to their culture. The Aztec was also the most brutal of the three. The Mayan empire was located in Mexico and central America, they started the civilisation in 2000 B.C.-250 A.D. The Inca’s however, had a social economy, in which the government would take taxes, and with a certain amount of those taxes the Gov would give a portion of the money to the poor. Since, the Inca’s had their own type of economy, it almost seemed as if the Mayans had more in common with the aztec’s, (economy wise.) Most, of the government in each empire revolved from their capitol’s . The capitol of the Mayan empire was a place called Tikal, it s now located in Guatemala. Starting with the Maya’s government they had what is called a hierarchical government. The Aztec called the ruler of their government the emperor Tlatoani. The Inca had a different same for an “emperor’’ called the Sapa Inca. The government also controlled some what of the technology of each empire. The Inca, was one of the only prosperous civilizations with no writing system, instead of using this kind of system they used what is called a quipu. The Mayans were great road builders just like the Inca. Since the Aztec had no iron or bronze to make weapons they instead used obsidian and chart. The Aztec’s and the Inca’s have many similarities such as religious beliefs, and views about gods. Inca’s views about training for war are different, and the Aztec’s artifacts are somewhat different to. The farm land compared to the Inca’s is differs also, because where the Aztec’s lived the land was elevated about ten thousand feet.
The history of the Canadians and the Aztecs are really indistinguishable. Both of them were the original inhabitants of their own land. To see the comparison between the Aztecs and Canada’s indigenous people let’s track back in Canadian history. This will also make it a bit easier to see which inhabitants struggled the most. Finally, we will also be able to compare and contrast between the two indigenous people.
The Aztecs were a tribe that relied on corn a lot. Well, it wasn’t necessarily corn, it was actually a thing called maize. Maize is a corn like substance that they use for many things like tortillas that they could use to make other things with and put them with the tortillas. Some of this includes tomatoes, beans, squash, deer and other things. While the Aztecs relied on maize for many things, the Incas did not use at much corn as the Aztecs did. Instead their main diet was the food that there was when they traveled. The Incas had a very large spread of land that they traveled on. Instead of staying in one place the incas would get all the food from one place then they would go to another place and get all the food from there. The Aztecs and Incas served an important role in the primal Native American civilizations. They were similar and different with the treatment of women, the economy, and intellectual achievements. Economically, both civilizations used trade, tribute, and agriculture to build their economy. However, the Aztecs had a more mixed economy, used trade more frequently than the Incas, and had a merchant class whereas the Incan civilization had more governmental control. Intellectually, both civilizations achieved in fields such as architecture, and art; however, the Incan empire had a wider range of achievements, disregarding their lack of writing. Throughout both civilizations, women had a tough life and were underappreciated but comparing the two, Incan women had it better off due to parallel descent.
The Maya and Aztec civilizations were both indigenous people that flourished in Mesoamerica during different periods of time. Maya 's classic period is dated from 250 to 900 AD, which was considered to be the peak of their civilization. They covered much of the Yucatan Peninsula and were centered in what is now known as Guatemala. The Aztecs dominated from 1325 AD to 1521 AD, in what is now modern day Mexico. Although they shared cultural similarities such as their social structure, they also had their differences in military and religious rituals.
Like the Athenians and Spartans of ancient Greece, the Inca and the Aztec bear resemblance to the two other ancient cultures. The Athenians and Incas were both more interested in developing their Arts as well as their military, but both the Spartans and the Aztecs were highly interested more so in warfare than religion. Although the Aztec and Inca never had to face each other, it is interesting to compare them because of their dominant positions of extremely large and powerful tribes. I am going to compare and contrast religion and the social system along with their system of government, which can be put together.
