She arranged treatment for him and after one week Mathew was sent to rehab to fix himself and to realize what he did wrong with his life. Mathew was in rehab for two to three weeks. After rehabilitation, Mathew got home and hugged his mom so tight and whispered in her ears, “mom, I’m sorry”. He promised her that he will change, that he won’t do the stuff he did. Mathew realized his friends influenced him more and more in a bad way. After two months Mathew saw his old friends. He talked to them for a bit and told them, “I can’t be friends with you guys anymore”. He decided to end their friendship because of what happened. Mathew soon realized how important life is really. He once said, “I’m lucky to have a mom like my mother; after all this thing that happened to me, I realized life really matters. I guess it’s a good thing that this happened to me because it made me grow and I learned from my own mistakes. I realized that I should not trust anyone right away and that I should be thankful for what I have.” This experience was his turning

The physical abuse is the root of his problems, affecting his self-esteem and self-image. He may be a genius, but he has thought of himself not to be worthy of anything including the praise of being an intellect. He runs away from the professor unwilling to be acknowledged for his intellect. He suffers from an inferior complex which he tries to counter by being the only one among his friends with a high intelligence to give him a superior status among them. His relationship is affected too when he tries to form one with Skylar. The young man also displays an impulsive nature which has gotten him in trouble in the past with the law which is why the judge was ready to be hard on him in the recent anger display. The same character flaw has been causing trouble for him in his relationship with Skylar which has been unstable. The moment she tells him she is leaving, the emotional mood swings and the explosive anger kick in and he pushes her away, and he even takes up a job to avoid confronting his fear of being abandoned. His fear of authority has made him humble and left him with no growth goal in his personal and work life. He wishes to remain hidden and unnoticeable. When this did not work he out rightly rebels against the authority figure like he did with the therapist he initially wanted to treat

The person that I interviewed for this paper was Patricia Margaret Lassiter. Born in Maryland on November 7, 1967 she was an only child. The lifestyle that she grew up in was much disoriented and was one that no child should be put through. Both of her parents were alcoholics and very abusive, and would even let their daughter drink alcohol because they thought it was comical when she passed out. Her father was abusive to both his wife and Patricia, so in the best interest of protecting her child, Patti (Patricia’s Mom) left her husband, and filed for a divorce. After the parents divorced, Patricia’s parents went to court, and both tried to fight for custody of their daughter. In the end, it was up to Patti, who was only in the 1st grade, to decide who she wanted to live with. Being torn apart she made the decision to go with her mom, but later regretted it. Her mother had many relationships, but went through the same process as her last marriage. The relationships her mother was in were all abusive due to alcohol, and many nights Patricia would have to run away while her mother protected her from these abusive men. One morning Patricia’s mother took her to school even though Patricia insisted that school wasn’t opened that day. Dropping her off at school Patti told Patricia to go to class, and wait for the teacher. After waiting in her classroom for hours, someone finally found her, but when Patricia tried to come into contact with her mother to pick her up from school she would not respond. That was the very last day she saw her mother. Social Service came by the school, and put her in a foster home for three days, and then was transferred to live with a lady called Shirley. From time to time she had visits from her father, and...
The author in this story has tried hard to bring the problem of teenage runaways to the surface in order to shed light on its cause and possible solutions. The conflict that exists between the son. Donny and his mother Daisy reflects the kind of problems that many American families are facing today. It is extremely important to understand that while many people blame teenagers for their irrational and irresponsible behavior when their life doesn't turn out well, they completely forgot the importance of role played by parents and how it can have a profound impact on the child life. Donny's parents are not spending enough time with him. He is not getting the attention he wants from his parents. His mother Daisy spends more time with Donny's sister. When he started acting up, his parents got him a tutor. He started going over there three times a week and he liked going over there. His tutor Cal, paid attention to Donny. Donny liked having somebody pay attention to him. Donny listened to what he had to say. When he got expelled from school he went to Cal's house instead of his house. He thought that Cal understood him more then his mother. Cal was like a friend instead of a tutor. "Cal lent Donny an album of by The Who. He took Donny and two other pupils to a rock concert. In March, when Donny began to talk endlessly on the phone with a girl named Miriam, Cal even let Miriam come to one of the tutoring session."(Tyler 760). He is jealous of his sister and he is probably doing these things for attention. "Daisy remembered when Donny sister Amanda was born. Donny had acted lost and bewildered. Daisy had been alert to that, of course, but still, a new baby keeps you so busy" (Tyler 757).Donny just needs some attention and somebody to help him out in his problems. He just needs somebody to talk to about his problems. If they see their parents doing these things, then they are going to act on it. Teenagers look up to their parents. At the age Donny is he is going to be experimental and they are going to try new things out. He needs to experience things on his own.
He lost his best friend, who he spends a great deal of time living alongside. It is unjustifiable to lose a friend, especially for no reason or due to an uncontrollable disease while having to watch in absolute terror not being able to help, but only wish and prey. Subsequently, simultaneous to losing a friend he is struggling to progress on in life during school and extracurricular activities, “none of the boys had ever made overtures of friendship towards him” (Selvadurai 26). Imagine not having any friends in addition to feeling a sense of isolation, only being able to rely on
As he grows older, his style changes and he sees the real world as it really is as opposed to his fantasies he had when he was younger. A major development in the story is the actual act of becoming a man. Boys his age have a festival for many days that lead up to their circumcision, after which they become men. After this accomplishment, he still writes about his fears and his thoughts but he is much more wary to keep them to himself. And as he grows even older he moves away from home to attend Technical College for four years. These years change him very much and when he returns home he is much more of an adult and conducts himself in such a manner.
...why he never found them. He will not allow himself to because by this point he had given up on school and eventually he gave up on the whole world. Tragically though, he gives it all up before he truly has a chance to get it started.
In the assessment of Ryan, the parent provided crucial information that led to identification of challenges that Ryan was going through. The parent spent a lot of time helping the child to complete his homework. Secondly, the parent realized that Ryan would be able to memorize a story, but reading and writing down the story was the challenge because the letters were jumbled up in a word. Ryan was showing extreme signs of frustration while at home, an aspect that he hid from his class teacher and schoolmates. Ryan was not afraid to ask the mother for help in doing homework and worked quite hard to please the mother, although inherent challenges frustrated his efforts.
It was about one-thirty in the morning in the town of Homestead Michigan. The almost florescent light of the moon bouncing off the fresh puddles that covered the ground. The grass and trees were covered in a thin layer of water causing every little beam of light to reflect back up. Anyone who may have been outside at this time would have without double, smelled the mix of fresh dirt and night crawlers. As the moonlight started to fade away through the cloud cover, three buses made there way through the streets and parked in front of HHS, the local high school.

She had brown eyes, fair skin, and lips red as a freshly picked rose from a beautiful garden. She believed staying alone helped her during life. Emily was a part of a broken family. Her father ran out on her when she was just a baby.
