Many people believe Marlon Brando was the greatest actor of the 20th century. His life was filled with wonderful, interesting, but also encountered troubling times. Marlon Brando was a rebellious boy who later grew up to be known as the “world’s greatest actor.”
Marlon Brando was born on April 3rd 1924 in Omaha Nebraska. Marlon Brando had a pretty tough childhood. Brando was the youngest out of three children. Brando had two sisters, Jocelyn and Frances. His parents are Marlon Brando Sr. and Dorothy Brando also known as Dodie. His father was always away at work selling agriculture products in Illinois and Missouri while his mother was an amateur actor who got drunk every chance she had made his home life miserable. Even when little Brando’s father was home he would be mean and his kids were terrified of him.
When Brando was two years old his family moved to his Nana’s much bigger house in California. Later in 1930, Marlon Brando got a better job in Illinois as a general manager which meant the family had to move again.
In 1963, Dodie found out Senior was having an affair. Senior started beating her. Little Brando was eleven and ran into their room to stop the fight and threatened to kill his father if he did not stop. After that horrific experience Brando and Dodie moved in again with Nana and half-sister Betty Lindemeyer. They attended junior high together at Lathrop Junior High School in California (Bosworth).
Marlon Brando was popular and athletic, but most of all wild. Brando got expelled from many schools. ...d suffered with diabetes. His weight and age was starting to hurt his acting carrier. His last movie he filmed was “Superman” which came out two years after he died in 2006. Brando died on July 1st 2004 from respiratory failure (“Marlon Brando Biography”).
Marlon Brando was a kid who thought there was no hope but turned into the best actor of his time. He was very handsome, famous, and rich. These things did not bring happiness in his life. Brando died a bitter lonely old man.

Film has evolved into one of the most popular forms of entertainment mediums in America today. Beginning from a “moving picture” that lasted no more than a few seconds, the industry has sprouted into a goldmine of technologically advanced major motion pictures. While Hollywood was still in an adolescent stage, a certain genre caught the eye of a United States eager for trendy entertainment: the “gangster” film. No film better defined the genre than Mervyn LeRoy’s Little Caesar. The movie was released in 1930 and largely due to the industries technological advancements the silent film had started a slide down the slippery slope to extinction as “talkies” were becoming all the rage. Although gangster films existed previous to the talkie era, there was something about the audible rat-tat-tat of machine guns and the stylized argot of tough guy talk that made an electrifying concoction. In addition, the gangster’s disregard for established society seemed fitting for a population who was beginning to lose its trust in institutions such as banks after being severely shaken by the depression (Giannetti 143). The circumstances were ideal for the rise of the gangster film.
The death of Robert Johnson was tragic and the myths that surround him will last forever. In August 1938, Johnson played the last show of his life. The jealous husband of a woman that he began an affair with while in Greenwood, Mississippi poisoned Johnson. During the show the husband poisoned Johnson's whiskey. Johnson died on August 13th, 1938, three days after he was poisoned.
On February 6, 1911, Ronald Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois. His parents were Nelle and John Reagan. Ronald Reagan's father, Jack Reagan mostly sold shoes. He was a part owner of a shoe store. His mother worked as a sales clerk and seamstress at a local dress shop. Ronald did have a brother his name was Neil, he was a couple years older than him.

Throughout his writing career, Welles’ characters reflected his own personality and inspired others to write about human struggles, both good and bad. An innovative, dynamic individual, Welles spent his entire life experimenting with different mediums and bringing to the world his vision of man’s never ending struggle to conquer his own inner demons. Welles was a man whose life was one of paradox. His films reflected his inner conflicts and his attempt to assuage the two extremes of his own existence.
Edwin Booth suffered much of his life with grief and gloom, but he never let it get in the way of theatre. He always returned to the stage, performing in many tours, breaking records, gaining international admiration, and earning the high opinion of critics. This was more than most actors of his time could say, making Edwin one of the most accomplished and well-respected American actors of the nineteenth century.
