I think that hosting a market day is a wonderful idea. Doing a market day event allows students the opportunity to learn life skills at a young age. These days a lot of teachers are focused on skills that students need to equip them to pass a test. Many teachers pass up the opportunity to teach students what will be beneficial in their futures. I was talking to a fourth grade teacher a few months ago and she said that she has taught for 25 years. This past year, she realized that her math textbook took out the chapter on currency. While in conversation, she said that most of her fourth graders do not know the difference between a nickel and a dime. If teachers do not teach currency and other life skills, students will not have the skills necessary to become successful in life. This is why I think that holding a market day is a brilliant idea. A market day allows students to …show more content…
I would choose four different designs that I think would appeal to the students at SEU. I would then have each member work on one of the bookmark designs. The only materials needed to make these bookmarks are paper, markers, scissors, and glue. From Walmart our group would buy the AstroBrights colored paper in red and receive 500 sheets for $9.99. We would also buy the AstroBrights black cardstock and receive 50 sheets for $3.97. Our total purchase cost from Walmart with tax would be $15.01. Then from the Dollar Tree my group would buy scissors, markers, and glue sticks. I found that you can buy a pack of two fine tip makers for $1.00. You can buy a two pack of scissors for $1.00; therefore, we would buy two packs of scissors so that each team member has one pair. Then we would buy one pack of the four count of glue sticks so that each of us would have one glue stick. Our total amount spent, with tax; at the Dollar Tree would be $4.30. Our overall amount that we spent on this product would be
As a commuter to McDaniel College, I don’t spend much time on campus outside of classes. Therefore, the relevance of after school activities doesn’t apply to me as much. Keeping current with events happening on campus grounds, is often a daunting task. However in the spirit of class participation, I decided to create awareness that fall break is upon us.
Students now have the opportunity to work another day to save for their future. The four-day school week also provides much more time for these children to spend and enjoy time with friends, and family, as well as enjoying extracurricular activities. There is a lovely environment for the children at the school and an extra day for the instructors to gain knowledge and a better understanding of their curriculum. The schools will be saving a varying amount of money that could be used in case of an emergency with money of any kind. Whether it is an emergency funding program, or money to fund an extracurricular activity. In conclusion, the four-day school week has proven itself to be a very effective form of education that Colby Public Schools most certainly should switch to within the coming
Overall, schools with a four-day school week have major benefits in dealing with all kinds of problems. Not only will a four-day school week improve financial concerns, stress and attendance, but it will also encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities. School District 211 should consider all of these benefits and make the switch to a four-day school week, so that students and teachers can benefit from the opportunities that a four-day school week has to offer. As Ayn Rand said, "The ladder of success is best climbed by stepping on the rungs of."
High Schools for years have debated over the conflict of whether they should have a four day school week instead of a five day school week. They have deciphered through the pros and cons to determine which would be the more effective and more promising for their school, teachers and students. Many schools have made the change from a five day school week to a four day school week, but many are still on the fence as to what would be best. High schools should consider having a four day school week because it benefits the teachers, students, and the school by giving them a break, it’s a financial gain, and it improves learning and teaching.
One obvious alternative, which would thrill many teachers, would be to replace pens, pencils, paper, and the like with computer systems of one sort or another. Estimations have been made that computer systems at the school could be provided for as little as $800 per student including Internet access and basic maintenance. ('Computing Edge';, John Beecham, 1997) This approach would have many advantages, including the fact that our schools would be releasing children with at least a basic knowledge of how to operate a computer system, this in turn would make it much easier to learn to operate other, more complicated and more advanced systems, which would give our students needed job skills in today's information age.
Give them their mind maps back and give students the opportunity to create their Prezi on their iPad.
School should be four days a week with an extra hour added to each school day because it would save money for the school system, increase student motivation, stimulate the economy, and promote student achievement. There has been a decrease in education due to the small amount of resources, causing classrooms to be bigger and children not being able to extend their knowledge. Even though the economy has been falling, each school district has been working hard to promote student education, which could mean trading a traditional school schedule for a four-day school week. Replacing a normal school schedule for the four day school week can raise the school budget tremendously. (Hart, Demand Media).
According to Business Insider, it has been estimated that Walmart gains an average revenue of 750K per week. Imagine how much money they would lose in just one day if society decided to purchase no goods. I prefer that we shouldn’t lean towards the idea of “Buy Nothing Day” because it could affect millions of people in disastrous ways. It would only benefit large companies by eliminating their local business competitors. Small businesses and family-owned establishments could be affected with no customers in a day, which can lead to a loss of revenue or possibly put them in debt. Whoever thought of this idea must be unintelligent because, in reality, people won’t likely participate due to them needing resources immediately. We have been so accustomed to consumerism that it would be nearly impossible to stop shopping for one whole day. The economy would collapse if the nation won't be making any money. It would take a long time for it to recover which can result in an unstable economy.
I would like if we went back to a 5 day school week. This would be a good idea for many reasons. The first reason is that the school days and class periods would be shorter. There is also less hand on learning. With less school days in the year, the school has less time for tests and book learning; so they all cram it into the days that we have and get rid of hands on projects. Also in a 5 day school week the teachers would get paid more(paid by the hour). The teachers and students
So, the promotions and unique school program would then be able to deliver efficiently to the right target market. One of the main factors that would deter schools from taking a field trip to the Museum would be the high administration cost that school or some parents could not afford to pay. I think what could have done to address this issue is school should set aside a partial of money to fund this kind of field trip. School may encourage their student to actively get involved in some sort of fund-raising activities such as selling cookies, having an auction where student’s crafts are exhibited and sold, etc. In this way, school can potentially raise some money to support the Museum field trip as well as successfully create a “harmony environment of sharing” among student. Students who have financial conditions now can be able to contribute their efforts in helping other students who could not afford to participate in a school
I will inform my students that we will be working with graphic organizers. I will teach students that a graphic organizer is used to organize one’s thoughts.
The ideas that would be suggested are creating book swaps, a buy and sell textbook page, and giving away textbooks. We would be able to see how many student and faculty members would want information about cheaper textbooks. If their support is given, then I will go talk to the president of academic affairs. Creating a flyer: On the posters, there can be other information such as renting textbooks, buying them used, or downloading them. These flyers will be posted all over campus and handed out to individuals.
Emotional intelligence has a large amount of number, which in common with social intelligence. Both of them are relevant with perception and understanding of other’s emotion, oneself and act cleverly way in interpersonal relationships. They are mood driver, a neurological and biological state of mind which are the significant key for human relationship, furthermore they are overlapping, interdependent and multidimensional. However, each of them contains and focuses on different elements. According to

think that the extra day would bring America's education level closer to those of other countries. However, I disagree. I think having school on Saturday would actually lower our education level. The Saturday classes would diminish family time for students. The extra day of classes would cut down on work days for students. Saturday classes would also mean one less day of rest for both students and teachers alike.
