Introduction
Since I have been involved in International Baccalaureate middle years program in my sixth grade year, I have look forward to the completion of the Personal Project. Ever since I've been in IB I've learned to have a mind set of my own. Being in IB has taught me that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. I've decided to do a project on making bracelets for all illness. The color of the bracelets represent the type of illness you have.
My goal for the personal project was to create a number of neatly, well-made paracord bracelets, and sell them to raise money for certain charities. These paracord bracelets are to help spread different awareness's for different potential buyers. I have experienced seeing my family and friends suffer from different sickness and illness that has taken a toll them all.
Seeing them suffer gave me a good idea on making these bracelets for my personal project. When I was 12 years old , my grandmother said that we should make paracord bracelets for the people that's in the nursing home and hospital that is suffering from any kind of sickness and/or illness. When I sat there and thought about what should I do for my personal project , I thought about what me and my grandmother did when I was 12. These bracelets are made out of a heavy duty material, called paracord. I was inspired by my friends and family members' passion and hopeful attitude towards everything we've been through, dealing with the sickness and illnesses. I decided that creating these awareness bracelets would be the perfect idea for my Personal Project. I also decided that I want to incorporate the Area of Interaction, Human Ingenuity, to my project and decided that I could donate 100% of all the profit to various char...

...he goal for my personal project was hard at first but as time went by, things got fairly easy. I enjoyed doing this project even though there were obstacles. I could see myself tackling another personal project following these same steps. I was determined to get this project completed before time without thinking about the challenges that I would face.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I enjoyed the outcome of my personal project and I’m satisfied with the outcome. Breaking down the project step by step worked well for me. I managed to overcome the obstacles that stood in my way and kept on pursing my goal. Setting goals for yourself ,can really get you far in life. It helps you succeed in the things that you thought that you could never succeed in .Overall I’m proud of myself and decided to challenge myself to another personal project using the lessons that I’ve learned.
This bracelet means a lot me, it can be compared as “objects that are as evocative as snapshots. They’re documents, but they can’t be reproduced” (last name, par. # ). My bracelet is special to me because it is the first bracelet of la virgen, a bracelet that I bought from a sacred and spiritual place. When I am feeling upset, worried, or scared, I hold on to this bracelet and seek guidance and protection from La
One friend kills another. Speeches are presented. A war breaks out. This is the story of Julius Caesar, the emperor of Rome who was killed by Brutus and a group of conspirators. Many argue that Brutus was a patriot, and many argue that he was a betrayer. People argue that he was a betrayer because he betrayed Caesar’s trust and gave a speech against him. However, when you think of Caesar’s personality, arrogant and slightly reckless, he could’ve made bad decisions and caused Rome a great deal of trouble. Brutus was a patriot to Rome since he did what was best for the country and even took his own life instead of running away. He put his own feelings aside to do what was right.
Hesiod’s Theogony and the Babylonian Enuma Elish are both myths that begin as creation myths, explaining how the universe and, later on, humans came to be. These types of myths exist in every culture and, while the account of creation in Hesiod’s Theogony and the Enuma Elish share many similarities, the two myths differ in many ways as well. Both myths begin creation from where the universe is a formless state, from which the primordial gods emerge. The idea of the earth and sky beginning as one and then being separated is also expressed in both myths.
Expanded and strengthened state private insurance companies are to be expected since more younger Texans enter the market thanks to the premium support. Texas can expect savings through more proper use of medical care, lower numbers in Medicaid, and savings from increased recipient cost sharing. Texas must refuse to comply with the new high-risk pools. There are many reasons Texas should not comply but the main reason is poor design. Currently, eighteen states have decided not to participate in these pools, Texas is undecided. Any person with a pre-existing medical disorder whom has been without insurance for six month will qualify. The law gave the Department of Health discretion in determining with conditions qualifies. Theoretically, the Department of Health could say the flu is a pre existing medical condition. If Texas does not refuse to comply with these pools it is only a matter of time before the demand will exceed the supply. A huge concern is when the funding is gone what do the state politicians do. I see two options. One, state officials will end the coverage all together and pull the plug. Two, continue to allow the program to run with the use of state tax dollars.
Students will do a final project with a small group (3-4). They can choose from the following:
...roup project where they create a society and choose what values they think are important for this society. They could present their project in various formats: PowerPoint, video, written story or a poster either way they need to justify the values they chose.
More than 150 years have passed since Florence Nightingale first decided she wanted to be a nurse. Her dedications to providing lifelong services and care to the sick and the poor has been the center of nursing care. Therefore, nursing is considered one of the most altruistic professions around. Today, nurses still maintain the same social values, providing care to the ill and the poor but has taken on a more complex role, which includes providing health education and promotions. Randle (2010), believes by providing health education materials to diabetic patients, encourage these patients to change their lifestyles then the desired outcome would be increased health and wellness with a lasting effect versus the quick fix of medications alone.
At the end, I take this project more to a life change than just analyzing a short period of time of change. I know that this will take a while for me to adjust to since I have been like this since a child and for my loved ones to acknowledge it seems to be affecting me in someway. I know I will face my own obstacles but I do know that I am persistent and I change that aspect of myself in the long
We advocated for people with intellectual disabilities, a person has certain limitations in mental functioning and in skills such as communicating, taking care of him or herself, and social skills. During the course of this project I learned a lot about the subject, like Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, and phenylketonuria are caused by genetic conditions. I learned that all the money that we have raised and people donated goes all towards the Special Olympics, to help give those kids to have the same opportunities to develop physical fitness and share personal skills with their families.
The East Pennsboro elementary school raised money for a statue at a local park. The statue was a ring of children that were holding hands. There was one child missing; the link was broken. The statue was dedicated to East Pennsboro students that did not make it to their graduation. My sophomore year of high school inspired this piece of artwork.
Many of the women in my family are nurses of some sort, so nursing is not some unfamiliar thing to me. Not only that, but I also get hurt often, considering the number of sports that I have played that put stress on my body. I have had to have countless MRIs, x-rays, and surgeries due to injuries or sickness. Throughout all these experiences, there were nurses that helped the procedure to go much more smoothly. I have been on the receiving side of a nurse’s care; I know how good it feels to have someone that put all their effort into caring for you and making sure that you are healthy. After experiencing this, I have decided that I want to be on the giving side of the care of a nurse. I know that already this project has impacted my life by helping me to learn how hard nurses have worked to get nursing to where it is now and how hard nurses have to work every day to fulfill the many duties required of them. While doing my final project, I believe that I will also be greatly affected because I will be able to actually serve other people; kind of like a
Being successful is not an easy challenge to overcome because sometimes things do not go as planned. To actually succeed in a task, there needs to be improvements so show growth and strength.
The project will be broken down in to different phases, phase one will consist notes taken by the teacher as she observes the children role playing with items brought in to the classroom like crutches, braces for knees, wrists, ankles, slings for arms, x-rays, etc. With the information gathered by the teacher, together the class will create a web to visualize the possibilities for the developing topic. As a whole group the children will tell their personal stories about their experiences or someone they know experiences they have had with a broken bone. With these stories in mind the children will draw pictures of what they think their bones look like and share their drawings with the class. With the sharing of each student’s drawing any questions
To start off my day, every morning I work with special education kids for an hour. Many days I work with Jason, who is paralyzed from the waist down and has learning disabilities as well as troubled speech. Jason and I look at the newspaper, work on worksheets, make projects, and sometimes go on walks. Throughout the months I’ve worked with him I have learned a lot about patience. Being a beneficial peer helper requires me to explain things in multiple ways until he understands, this can sometimes take a good while. Everyday Jason improves and it’s truly heartwarming to watch his growth and achievements. Jason makes me very thankful for my health and ability to walk, as it is something many of us take for granted. Overall, I have learned a lot about interacting with those of special needs and I greatly appreciate those who teach and volunteer with Special Olympics.
There can be no success without goals or targets. This is because success is relative to a set target and whether we have achieved it, or at least making steady progress towards attaining it. For you to succeed, set a goal, a measurable target that represents what you envision: that is what you want or where you see yourself in future. A goal should be measurable so as to enable you to monitor your progress and help you know whether you are on track or you have gone off.
