As I was watching Harry Potter on TBS, I saw how Ron Weasly affected Harry and how he acted and what he did because he knew Ron was there for him. Harry knew that whatever he did Ron was going to be there for him. So I started to think to myself, Ron is a sidekick. So, I believe the sidekick affects the story more than the main character because, without the sidekick the main character won't have anyone to be there so they can't make those bold decisions to take down the enemy. So, What is the “Loyal Companion/Sidekick archetype? What exactly is an archetype? Also, how does the “Loyal Companion/Sidekick” affect the decision/choices the main character makes? Also who exactly is the Sidekick? So all these questions build up to one idea, What is the most important idea about being humans that supports the loyal companion archetype? I believe, the reason we as humans want to help their best friends/ “main character” is to show them the loyalness they have, and they want to be trusted so they have more opportunities to show they are worthy. …show more content…

Let's see is the Loyal Companion archetype changes the main characters. In the book hunger games “And suddenly, I'm not thinking of Gale but of Peeta and. Peeta! He saved my life! I think. Because by the time we met up” (Suzanne, P120)Peta in hunger games is Katniss's sidekick. He does anything; he risks his life, and he is friends the killers so that he can get an advantage and help Katniss survive. He shows he will help Katniss in every way possible, because he is her loyal friend/loyal companion. He impacts her decisions because he tries to help her with everything he can do so that at the end she can go be with her family. As shown here, the main character is devoured with help and support from the Loyal Companion/ Sidekick because all he/she wants to do is show that they can do
