High school can be a rough time in many people’s lives. It’s the years when people fall in love for the first time. Some people marry their high school sweethearts, but most people do not. Some people don’t really get the hint that they have a long journey to go, so they plan their life together not even two weeks in the relationship. They forget they have friends that will always be by their side unlike their temporary crush. Michelle, a freshman in a high school in Arizona, had the same experience. What’s her story? Well, It all started when she entered high school. Michelle always had a smile on her face everywhere she went, which made her irresistible to guys. She had a million guys head over heels for her, but none of them really caught …show more content…
her attention, except one guy. The guy was the receiver of the football team and player of the school. His name was Kevin. He was her boyfriend since seventh grade. She never realized the horrible pain she was going to go through if she dated him. All she really had at that point was Kevin and her friends, Lizette, Lauren, and Steven. They were the kind of friends that were straight up honest about everything no matter how harsh it was.
They all knew they couldn't talk about guys or girls, because they would just be rejected from group conversations for the rest of the year. Her group of friends were a weird bunch when it came to dating and relationships. They weren’t the type of friends that would give advice. All they cared about was what lies ahead for each other, so they can make the best out of life. Everyday was a different story. The school tardy bell blared on Wednesday as Michelle rushed to class. She wore a baggy pink v-neck shirt and black skinny jeans with white converse which match her caramel skin tone and brown-black eyes. She sprinted to her seat as quickly as she could so her teacher wouldn’t notice she was late. She pulled out her phone from her back pocket and laid it on her desk. A notification popped onto the lock screen. It was a text from the group. The message read, “lunch?” and another that respond, “Meet me in front of the nurses.” She unlocked her Android and typed out, “I’ll bring Kevin.” Kevin had became a part of the group of friends that she can’t live without. She plopped her phone back into her back pocket. It was 5 minutes until lunch
time. She tapped her foot to the ticking of the clock. The bell buzzed loudly in the class room. Everyone raced out of the door, including Michelle. She dashed out of the classroom in B-building and skipped down the breezeway. She shoved through the crowd to the A-building doors. Once the hall cleared, she made her way to the nurse’s office. Lizette and Steven were pacing back and forth in the hall, talking to each other. Michelle strolled up to them. “Where’s Lauren?” She whispered to them. Lizette pointed to the nurse’s office. As soon as Lizette put her finger down, Lauren emerged from the office. She jogged to them slowly, trying not to waste her breath. Michelle seemed to have a worried look on her face. “Why were you in the nurse’s office?” She mumbled, so no one could hear her. Lauren looked at Michelle with wide eyes. Lauren eyes were a warm light milky way brown, just like her heart. Lauren was considered the sweetheart of the group. She was an innocent brunette with a pixie haircut. She was the gentle one that would never hurt a fly, so it was rare to see her mad. Lauren wore the school spirit shirt and black skinny jeans with a red plaid button up tied around her waist. She strutted some size eight Sperry's. Her bright red lips shimmered in the light. She looked grown up compared to the first time they had met in sixth grade. Lauren exaggerated an exhale. “Pills,” She applied. Lauren seemed to take pills for everything wrong with her. Michelle loosened up from her tensed muscles. “Okay.” Michelle grasped Lauren’s hand and pulled her in front of everyone. “You walk so slow, so go in front of us”, She stated, giggling. The group of friends stumbled to the lunch line in the cafeteria. As they patiently wait for the line to move forward so they can eat Michelle looked around the cafeteria to see if she could spot Kevin since he never responded to her text about joining them for lunch. She finally spots her spiky haired boyfriend only to see him eating with another girl. He was sitting really close to this other girl. Michelle asked her friend “Do you guys know who that girl is who is sitting with Kevin?” . Nobody knew her. Michelle just rubbed it off. She thought that they must have been friends. She told herself they have been together for 2 years, and he loved her and he was faithful. Michelle went on about her day and decided just to ask Kevin about the other girl after school. It was the last period of the day and she couldn’t wait to find Kevin and apologized for even thinking that something could be going on between Kevin and this other girl. She raced to where the buses waited for kids to get on and search for Kevin’s bus. She couldn’t believe what she saw next. Kevin had his arms wrapped around the girl from the cafeteria and was kissing her very passionately. Michelle was speechless her eyes began to water no matter how what she did she could not stop the tears from racing down her cheeks. She got on her bus and went home. Kevin tried calling her and texting but she didn’t want to talk to him so she put her phone on silent. Yet every time her phone lit up with his name the waterfall of tears started all over again. She cried until she fell asleep. The next day she met up with Lauren, Lizette and Steven just like every other day. They all looked at Michelle strangely since she usually spends the mornings with Kevin. “What?” Michelle asked wondering why her friends were staring at her. “Where is Kevin?” Lizette asked. Just hearing his name brought the image of him making out with that other girl and Michelle couldn’t help it the tears began to fall. Her friends hugged her until she calmed down enough to tell them what happened. They were all furious to hear about Kevin cheating on their friend. As they sit in the cafeteria waiting for the day to start Kevin walks up to them and asks Michelle why she didn’t answer his calls or texts. Michelle stood up and said “because every time i see face or hear your name all i see is the girl you were kissing by the buses yesterday.”. Kevin stepped back she never came to the buses after school. He tried to apologize but Michelle just wanted him to go away. She thought about forgiving him but she knew the phrase “cheaters always cheat” . She finally knew what had to be done. She spent all of her first to classes writing down all the beautiful memories they shared all the places they had gone since they started dating and she finished the letter by saying “I had some really amazing times with you. you made me very happy. I was sure we were going to be together forever. But i guess you didn’t feel the same. What hurts me most is you didn’t respect me enough to break up with me before getting with someone else. We always said if we ever broke up with would still be friends. With what you did to me I don’t want to be your friend. I want nothing to do with you. I never want to see your face again. Normally i would say have a nice life but I don’t care enough to wish that for you so BYE. your used be, Michelle”. Michelle place the note on Kevin’s locker. The group went on about the rest of the year not even acknowledging Kevin’s existence. The group was happy to have back the Michelle the had before Kevin started dating her.
Rena Cohen had returned from camp high-spirited, anticipating her long-awaited senior year of high school. With only two days left to catch up with her friends, Rena called Malka Koenig and Lizzy Zimmerman and set up to see them at Cafe Bonjour. She couldn’t wait to hear how Malka enjoyed her lessons in computer programming and how Lizzy enjoyed her stay in camp. At the cafe, Rena realized something was wrong. Lizzy and Malka looked uncomfortable around each other and after just a few minutes, Malka got up and walked out. Lizzy refused to tell Rena what was wrong, so Rena got up and left too. When school began, things only got worse. Malka insisted that Rena was her best friend, Lizzy insisted that Rena was her best friend, and Rena wasn’t so sure she was friends with either of them. One thing was for certain: they were no longer the inseparable threesome everyone envied. As her year progressed, Rena grew more and more distant from her once undisputed friends. Their silence baffled her and she felt lost in the crowd; by twelfth even the loners had found their place in the grade. Malka became close friends with Tzipporah since they were both G.O. heads. Lizzy became friends with a girl named Riva. One day Malka approached Rena and told her she wanted to tell ...
High school is one of the most memorable times in a person’s life. For some those memories are full with excitement, happiness, and joy. For others it ends up being a stressful and a hormonal rollercoaster of a nightmare that they wish they could forget. And of course, there are always those stuck in between, who just float on by through their 4 years, whether going unnoticed or just sticking close to the shadows instead of the limelight. This dynamic can be broken down between social classes within the high school scenes, using jocks, class clowns, trouble makers, and the Hollywood favorite, geeks. Movies such as Revenge of the Nerds, the Social Network, and Super Bad have shed light on these clever misfits who make you question the amount of attention we all gave them during school. For this essay I will analyze the social class within the movie Super Bad and describe what high school was like for the “Super” trio of Seth, Evan, and, Fogell, through the focus of 3 main lenses: Friends; Social Experience; and Sexual Experience.

At Ridgemont High School an average student knows at least three people. First, everyone knows Mr. Heckles, the principle. He is known for his morning announcements that always go a little like “Good morning students, yesterday 13 people died”. Second, Frankie Coppelman’s name goes around quite a lot. He is that kid who peed himself in eighth grade while running to the bathroom. These two are known merely for infamous reasons. However, when the last student’s name is heard, it seems like a flower grows a petal. Vicky Frame is this name. Vicky Frame is also the name that goes next to “Why can’t you be more like… ?”. She is that girl that wins every award and everyone goes “AGAIN?”. She isn’t, however, exclusive to one stereotype. She is that girl who everyone wants to be friends with. Every time she walks past all the boys sigh and all the girls say hi. She is the girl that comes back from Europe with five math medals and also five possible boyfriends. She basically seems like the perfect everything. However, this perfect student, daughter, friend, girlfriend is not so perfect as a sibling.
“Garcia from criminal minds.” I responded. “Oh. No one is gonna know who you are Bethany.” She said, with a humorous grin on her face. “ I don’t care. I think I look cute.” I said proudly. I walked to the bonfire after grabbed a hotdog and sat next to Finn Eckart, and A girl I had not met. She had brown hair and brown eyes, she was stick thin and sipping out of a red cup. “Hi, I’m Bethany. Have we met?” I asked. This wasn’t something I normally did. I stuck with my crowd. Which mainly was just my best friend Rebecca Pillar and I. “I’m Sadie.” She responded. “Oh, I’ve never seen you before.” I said, wondering if she would give me more information. “Yeah, I just moved here from a base in Texas.” She replied. “Oh okay. So you’re parents are in the military?” I asked. “My dad.” She responded. “Oh okay.” I said nodding. I was going to say more but suddenly a girl who looked my age ran up to Sadie. “Sadie, they’re going to play Hide N’ Seek, are you coming?” She asked. “Umm yeah.” I got up and walked with Sadie. “Brooke this is
Walking through the halls, the average freshman gets a first glance at what the next four years of their life will be like. To the right, a flock of dumb jocks, and to the left, a herd of video game enthusiasts. Directly in front, the hierarchy of the school strolls on through with the glow of popularity. Closely behind, the fan boys and girls admiring the fame of the spot lighted teens of high school. The fictional idea of what a high school in America is like isn’t completely true. There are the queen bees and the wannabes, the cost of friendship, and the cruelty of girls. Although they bear some similarities, the difference between my high school experience and the one in Mean Girls is clear.
High school is supposed to be a one more step closer to college; it’s supposed to be preparing you for the future right? Wrong. My experience in high school was very different; I never quite fit in with anyone, the “friends” that I thought that I had used me for money. Let’s just say when I was a freshman I had a friend whom I knew from grade school, her name was Meghan Lawrence and she was the kind of person who I really believed I could tell her anything and she would keep it to herself. Once again I was proven wrong, I developed a crush on a boy and she knew that I had a crush on him; one morning before class both he and she went to the corner store, she thought it would be funny to tell him all about my crush, which he tortured me with, playing with my emotions, made me feel like he might actually like me back.
Love is a strong affection for another individual based on personal ties according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Love has mean definitions throughout the world we live in today. In some cultures, love has been defined as the sexual devotion of a mother for her child and in other cultures the essence of love was the chaste devotion of a knight for another man’s wife(pg520). Although love has many definitions and interpretations it can be looked at in two perspectives. One perspective which is rooted in practical help and affection. Also, another perspective that only focuses on affection. In the perspective which practical help and some affection shows love for a person the individuals have to be in a mutually beneficial relationship were
Growing up I never had time for anything. A normal teenage boy would’ve gone out almost everyday or just partied , what I basically , mean is that they would’ve been very outgoing and social. I on the other side I was a boy who didn’t had time to hangout friends , had to handle with work , school and sports. Waking up at 6 in the morning take a shower , change and by 7 had to get out from my house or I would’ve been late to school. Always had to walk , in the rain or snow it didn’t matter I had to walk because my older sister needs the car for her to go to college. After I get to school I had to do my do now for physiology and always trying to understand the class because I really don’t like science , but I had to try my best to get a good
The results are in and it doesn’t look good. An estimated eighty-five percent of relationships fail within the first year, with many of them not even making it six months. Finding love has turned into reality episodes of fast relationships and serial dating; leaving broken hearts, shattered dreams, and bitter feelings in its wake.
My boyfriend has been through alot in his short life span. He was your stereotypical black kid that people label as a “thug”. Weed, underaged drinking, sex, just about anything that you can name; he did it. What outsiders don’t know is that although he had done all these things he had a reason to. Yes I said it, my boyfriend had his reasons to do the things that he did. Cause and effect. You leave the house, knowing that your mom asked you to do the dishes and you don’t. So as a result you get yelled at or things are taken from you, etc. Because of his lifestyle it was causing him to go down, and fast. Trevon was never supposed to be apart of my Senior year, it was a mistake. I was supposed to graduate and attend a 4 year college and go on with my life. I never liked high school relationships because people are always in your business and it comes with a lot of up and down days. But of course to my dismay I end up dating him and doing the complete opposite of what I wanted to do with my life.
I listen to the constant roar of motors as the dirt bikes and go-carts race around the small track behind me. For a few (usually uneventful) hours every Tuesday, I work at the ticket and rider registration booth; collecting money and making everyone sign the if-you-die-you-can’t-sue-us forms. As usual, I was signing in a few riders and spectators at my station; as I listened to my ipod in one ear I completed my task that I had done hundreds of times before. However, this time something distracted me, something that made me lose my rhythm in completing the current customer’s registration. That something turned out not to be the usual bike, go-cart, or anything with a gas or break. That something turned out to be a guy. He stood in the line and watched the motocrossers lay the bikes sideways in the air and land it, making it look easy as pie. However, at that moment I couldn’t have cared less about the motocross race going on right next to me, there could have been a massive bike pile up and it wouldn’t have brought me out of this odd trance. Regarding looks, he seemed absolutely perfect. His skin was a nice tan probably from riding in the sun, his eyes were piercing blue and he was the perfect height. I quickly realized that I had been ignoring the customer that I was currently helping, and kept stealing glances his way to take another look. I finished up the current customer and sent him on his way, probably wondering why this girl was so distracted the entire time. Never the less I worked through the next customer quickly in order to have a chance to talk to this mysterious guy. I kept stealing glances over at him until finally it was his turn to be signed in. As he walked up I met his gaze and he smiled. He looked even more beau...
Are relationships in high school truly worth the potential heartache? Answers to this question vary, ranging from the enthusiastic “yes!” to the skeptical view of which cutting off one’s own third toe makes more sense to indifference. Yet, how can the value of a relationship be determined when the tumult of everyday teenage life may result in the potential loss or gain of a new relationship every week? One view may be relationships teenagers enter into are valuable practice for later in life, teaching those which engage in them how to interact with members of the opposite sex in a way which leads to marriage or family. Others, however, state the truism being a significantly low percentage of high school romances result in marriage. Although some may say the benefits outweigh the risks, relationships in high school are not feasible for many and may not be worth the effort put into them.
“Love is universally accepted by many people and the concept of love within the English language refers to a variety of different approaches, states and attitudes, ranging from pleasure to interpersonal attraction.” (Kendrick 123) My characterization of love encourages the intimate emotion I partake for my family. The distinct connection that we fashioned and the invaluable moments that we consolidated. In the perceptive of a mother, my children are my supremacy and the greatest blessing of my lifecycle. They’re my inspiration and motivation to continue progressing and becoming the best at what I do. With that in mind, Love relics your outlooks and approaches the linkage they become associated with. Consequently, this condition can fluctuate over a period of a specific time. Additionally, depending on your situation, your perspective on love can be an altering affect, creating a stable or inconsistent assessment. Furthermore, causing your love to intensify, decline, or even cease. Love in its essence, stands justly powerful and the beauty of it advances,
There are many positive things and negative things about the movie and the story. In the movie
