Salva, a little boy, separated from his family, with no water, no food, and always threatened by his surroundings. Chapter three states, “With the water balanced on her head, and her foot still sore from the thorn. Nya knew that going home would take longer than coming home. But she might reach home by noon. “ This quote implies the risks of the desert, how it must have been treacherous walking through the heat, on the scorching hot sand, with a thorn in her foot, longing for infection while having a bucket full of water on her head. Nya, sucking up the pain, possibly wishing she had never done this, yet continues with her journey back home, making the best of the situation. According to Chapter Three, Salva, “The tears were hot in Salva’s eyes. Where has everyone gone? Why had they left him without waking him up? Salva took a few steps to see what he could see. Kenan is beginning to become weak, but instead of making it easier on himself, he chooses to put his family’s safety and security before his own needs and continues to fill the bottles alone. He thinks of his family’s pain before his and he realizes that, “If he is killed he does not want anyone in his family to witness it, as much as he would like their faces to be the last thing he sees” (27). Kenan also rejects the idea of asking for assistance from his son, because, “He knows his wife will never recover” (27) if he and his son die and he does not want to think about what might happen if, “his son alone die[s]” (27). Kenan’s rejection of help despite the fact that if the two of them made the trek for water it would result in a safer and faster trip shows that he would rather risk his life and risk his family’s. After this profound realization Kenan becomes a better person who is proud of his family’s life.
In the book “A Long Walk To Water” there is a kid named Salva and he and his family live in Sudan where currently there is a war between South Sudan and Sudan because of their government. The family role plays in “A long Walk to Water” are similar to my life because Salva needs to go to school and needs to help in his house like me. Salva also had to complete his journey by going through the desert with his uncle and crossing the Nile river, Salva couldn’t do it without his family because he was really close to his family like I am.
They continued working, thanks to Salva who kept encouraging them. I really thought that A Long Walk to Water had a great main character who is a natural leader. It's implied throughout the book that Salva is fit for leadership. Salva was very forbearing when he helped the boys in his group. He showed perseverance when he got through the desert and each day in camp.
Sarah and her mother are sought out by the French Police after an order goes out to arrest all French Jews. When Sarah’s little brother starts to feel the pressures of social injustice, he turns to his sister for guidance. Michel did not want to go with the French Police, so he asks Sarah to help him hide in their secret cupboard. Sarah does this because she loves Michel and does not want him to be discriminated against. Sarah, her mother, and her father get arrested for being Jewish and are taken to a concentration camp just outside their hometown. Sarah thinks Michel, her beloved brother, will be safe. She says, “Yes, he’d be safe there. She was sure of it. The girl murmured his name and laid her palm flat on the wooden panel. I’ll come back for you later. I promise” (Rosnay 9). During this time of inequality, where the French were removing Sarah and her mother just because they were Jewish, Sarah’s brother asked her for help. Sarah promised her brother she would be back for him and helped him escape his impending arrest. Sarah’s brother believed her because he looks up to her and loves her. As the story continues, when Sarah falls ill and is in pain, she also turns to her father for comfort, “at one point she had been sick, bringing up bile, moaning in pain. She had felt her father’s hand upon her, comforting her” (Rosnay 55).

The Lost Boys of Sudan was about 17,000 boys. Some of the boys died of starvation hunger, dehydration or by getting eaten by animals during the journey to a place of safety. Although this may seem like a made-up story. it wasn’t. It was all real to salva, a lost boy in Sudan who survived the journey. This young boy (Salva) endured long walks to camps across the country, becoming a leader and making a positive impact on water in sudan which was a consistent struggle in Sudan. This boy has been written about in a book called “A Long Walk To Water” By Linda Sue Park. Salva’s life wasn’t easy as we read in the book. Salva has lived and survived with these survival factors: Hope, Persistent and Bravery.
How can one keep hope in the darkest of nights? Eliezer Wiesel found and lost hope throughout his life during the Holocaust in a traumatic and heartbreaking story. The chance that he would end up in Auschwitz was beyond his control, but he quickly learned how to make decisions while in camp: keep quiet, eat the soup (even if you don’t like it), and do everything in your power to stay with who you came with. Elie wanted to believe that he could control the events happening around him, but he ended up losing his childlike view of the world in an instant. Survival was the game, anything to stay alive was the play.

According to the textbook Eli Goldcratt implemented the Theory of Constraints (TOC). TOC is defined as the business approach to improve production, distribution and project management. (Jacobs, 2013) Goldcratt’s instituted a 5 step process to improve and assess current operations and productions. Goldcratt’s stated the following are rules for the management of constraints which include: “to identify the system constraints and weakness; decide how to exploit the constraints; subordinate everything else to that decision; elevate the system constraints if previous steps are broken start the process over again.” (Jacobs, 2013) By defining the issues proper measurements can be
