Endometriosis is one of the most common gynecological disorders which affect 5.5 million women in the U.S. and 176 million women worldwide. It is a chronic disorder found within the pelvic area of women. This disease is found to affect women of all ethnic and social backgrounds. While it has not yet been determines exactly what causes endometriosis there seems to be certain trends that may contribute to this disease. There also seems to be a link this being a hereditary disease. Symptoms can vary widely from case to case which can sometimes make it hard to diagnose endometriosis in the beginning. Endometriosis has 4 stages or classifications which are minimal, mild, moderate and severe which are used to describe the anatomic location and the severity of the disorder. Symptoms can be as minimal as mild cramping and be as devastating as infertility. There is no known cure for endometriosis but women do have treatment options to relieve the pain and to help with fertility problems that may be a result of endometriosis. The only true way to diagnose endometriosis is by performing a pelvic laparoscopy. But ultrasound is a way to pick up on signs of endometriosis.

In addition to the menstrual cycle there are a few diseases that affects the cycle in human females. One of the various diseases is menorrhagia, which is the excessive blood flow in the system. Hormone inequality and Pregnancy complexity can cause menorrhagia disease. Hormone inequality is the expansion of the endometrium scattering by the heaviness of bleeding (Mayo Clinic 2014). In the rare case of pregnancy complexity, anytime a woman experiences large amounts of bleeding or delayed period the result is more than likely the phases of a miscarriage.

Even before women know they’re pregnant important changes are already happening in their bodies. The first week of conception the zygote this is when the egg and sperm join it now has divided into many cells. Within two weeks the embryo will attach to the woman’s uterine wall. Endometriosis is when the endometrial lining of the uterus bleeds and attaches to other organs and healthy tissues in the body. There is no one organ endometriosis favors it had been known to attach to the bladder, bowel, intestines and fallopian tubes. All though it has been found in the lungs and heart.
Uterine Fibroids is a common medical condition that occurs generally in women in reproductive age. Fibroids are considered as benign tumors that grow up in the muscular wall of the uterus. Fibroids are also called leiomyoma or myoma. The size of the fibroids may vary from small sizes (apricot seed) to large sizes (similar to a melon). When fibroids rise up to a large size “The uterus expands to make it look approximating to a 6 or 7 months of pregnancy”. (Gynecologists). They also can grow up as an abnormal whole unit attach to the uterus or develop similar to grapes in different areas around the uterus. (See figure 1)
The history of endometrial cancer is very vague, but there are a lot of factors and facts from previous patients that need to be concerned. From the sources that I have research, there was not a definite name that individuals could say discovered the cancer. Many scientists and doctors really do not talk about the cancer. This cancer basically has the supported information of how it happens, where it happens in the body, how can it be treated, and who to turn to when you need help. Endometrial cancer is found in the endometrium, which is the lining of the uterus. The endometrium which is found in a woman’s pelvic area and this is where the fetus grows until birth. Endometrial cancer occurs when cells of the endometrium begin to grow and multiply without the control mechanisms that normally limit their growth. As the cells grow, they form a tumor.
After delivery of the fetus , the placenta and its membranes are detached from the uterus as the after-birth. The separation of the placenta from the uterine wall starts within the stratum spongiosum, by rupture of the uterine vessels. The uterine muscles then contracts causing closure if the orifices of the torn vessels are preventing postpartum hemorrhage . Regeneration of the epithelial lining of the uterus occurs by the proliferation and extension of the epithelium which lines the persistent portions of the uterine glands in the unaffected layer of the decidua. The female reproductive systems is made of 9 parts. The sex cell for the female reproductive system is called the egg or ovum. The egg spends it’s dormant life in the ovaries until it is released. The egg has 23 chromosomes within it. The ovaries have two goals: to create and house eggs and the release the female sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone. The fallopian tubes are what the egg travels through to reach the uterus. Fallopian tubes contain tiny hair-like structures called cilia; the cilia allows for mobility of the egg. The fallopian tube is roughly the size of 2 hairs, and is the site of where ectopic pregnancies happen. The process of the egg getting released from the ovaries through the fallopian tubes is called ovulation. Fertilization occurs when the sperm from the male and the ovum from the female combine to create a zygote. The zygote will then go through a gestational period which consists of three different stages. The first stage is the germinal stage and it starts from conception and ends at two weeks, during this stage the zygote divides and becomes much more complex and then implants into the uterine wall where it will then go on to the second stage. The second stage is the embryonic stage, this stage starts at two weeks and ends at eight weeks. During the embryonic stage the zygote has become an embryo and the organs and major body systems form and develop very rapidly. This is one of the most critical periods for physical development, the embryo is very sensitive to many different types of influences. The third and final stage of the gestational period is the fetal stage, this stage starts at eight weeks and ends at birth. During this stage the fetus grows approximately twenty times its previous length and the organs and body systems continue to develop becoming more complex and becomes ready for survival outside of the womb.
