In my opinion, I think that quality of life is more important than career. Everyone wants quality of life, but what is quality of life? The quality of a person’s life may be considered in terms of its richness, completeness and contentedness (Juniper, 2001). It is an important component of many financial decisions and also a highly subjective measure of happiness. In contrast, career is person’s occupation or career which are progress and actions taken by a person throughout a lifetime. Quality of life can bring about pleasure and a high value of life if we emphasize on our life’s quality instead of dedicate to career. Health, quality of environment, physical and material well-being, and occupational environment are factors that act a role in quality of life vary based on personal preferences and lifestyles.
In addition, health as a multidimensional construct which includes physical, mental, and social domains. High quality of life include medical and public health advances can lead to cures and better treatments of existing diseases and delayed of mortality. In this essay I am going to investigate whether health is easily defined as the absence of disease or physical injury. According to Health psychology (2009) ‘World Health Organisation defined health as a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’. In order to achieve good physical a nutrition diet is needed, healthy BMI, rest and adequate physical exercise is needed.
Well-being is a combination of physical, mental, emotional and social factors. It is seen, as a stable state of being satisfied with one’s self and their life that doesn’t fluctuate due to a single even, person, or feeling (Begley and Begun, 2000). Well-being consists of eight dimensions, emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social and spiritual (Begley and Begun, 2000). For the purpose of this study we are going to be looking at the emotional and occupational sides of well-being. Emotional state of well being is the ability to recognize, understand and express a full range of emotions and channel our emotions into healthy behaviours that satisfy our personal and social goals (Ryff, 1985). Occupational is achieving personal satisfaction and enrichment in one’s life through work, education, and personal goals and passions (Ryff, 1985).
The dimensions of health make-up and create an image of our overall health. This paper will refer to the dimensions of health in relation to myself, and what health change within one dimension would be beneficial to my health as a whole. Health, as defined by the World Health Organization (2014), is a state of total physical, mental and social well-being, not just when disease, illness or injury are absent (p. 1). My definition of health focuses on feeling well enough to perform everyday tasks and to perform these tasks to the best of my ability.

In society today, there is an extensive range of definitions of health and wellbeing which can be seen as both positive and negative. A Holistic view can also be identified and defined. Consequently, if a person has emotional difficulties such as how they interact with other people or how they may feel but are physically fit and free from illness does not mean that they are healthy overall as one factor has difficulties. There is a vast majority of areas that need to consider in order classifying health and well-being. Several non modifiable factors affecting health can be genetics, gender, race, age. Other factors like personality, attitudes and thoughts that can affect the lifestyle. The relation within a social group, referred to their attitudes, orientations, or behaviours which take the interests, intentions, or needs of other people into account. As general health can have a massive influence on relationship between friends and family. Awareness of emotion changes, the ability to sustain in control of them, resolving problems, and coping with stress. It also depends on the natural environment. Weather, especially extreme heat and cold and icy conditions, inhibits participation in outdoor activities such as walking, cycling and playing at the park.

If one wants to live an enjoyable, fulfilling life they must know what it truly means to be well. Living a wellness lifestyle means incorporating all aspects of what it takes to flourish as a human being. It goes beyond the health of the physical body and incorporates the important social, emotional, and spiritual factors that play a part in every person’s life in one way or another. Knowing how to act correctly, control our feelings, channel our frustrations, and improve in each dimension of wellness will lead to a satisfactory life.
