You are receiving this letter because I am appealing your recent decision on denying Social Security disability for my severe atopic dermatitis, allergies, and asthma. I developed these critical symptoms as a baby and continue to suffer from them today. They have been uncontrollable diseases that have haunted me my entire life seeing that there is no cure for them and they are triggered by daily foods, activities, and the environment, with my daily functionality is limited and dictated.
Atopic dermatitis causes inflammation of the skin, lesions of the skin, and chronic infections. This can happen on multiple body sites and critical body areas and this can result in very serious limitations. For example, it could interfere with the motions of my joints, limit the use

of more than one joint, and the ability to do general motor movements. This will affect my ability to work because it limits my flexibility especially in my hands.
The open lesions cause uncontrollable pain, especially in places that constantly bend like my hands, elbows, knees, etc. If constant motion is put on the lesion this will not only not allow it to heal properly but also put me at risk for infection. Symptoms of asthma tend to be tightness of chess, wheezing, coughing and inability to breath. This could be triggered from general daily activities such as walking, and/or exercise. However, since I suffer from severe allergies as well, my asthma can be triggered from something as simple as something I’ve eaten or ingested, the weather, or common illnesses such as a cold/influenza. Symptoms from my allergies are vast and range from itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, coughing, and possibly death. These symptoms are so varied since my allergies are from food, indoor and outdoor allergies, including animals, mold, dust mites, etc. Please note all my food allergies have generally come back positive, which triggers my symptoms itchy eyes, coughing, allergic reactions etc. These symptoms often occur daily and can last an extended amount of time without the proper treatment. Secondary symptoms from my
medications should also be seriously considered. Many of the medications I take daily have adverse side effects. Some additional side effects are dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, constipation, and the inability to operate heavy machinery. This is another reason it’s important for my inability to work. I would not be able to perform my best at any job while under my heavy medication. Many of these meds keep me exhausted to where I must muster the strength just to maintain my schoolwork. Without accommodations, my school attendance and work load would be impossible. These disabilities have halted my life in multiple ways, such as dictating what I can eat and exercise. They’ve also increased my cost of living by having to run an air purifier, nebulizer, general doctor care, medications, and purchasing foods. Dealing with these complications not only affects my physical health, but also my mental health. Having big blotches of red and peeling atopic dermatitis as young girl really made me feel out of place in a room full of other kids my age who don’t have to deal with the self-consciousness and health issues. It was very clear that I was different not only by the atopic dermatitis, but also with my severe asthma and allergies. Not being able to participate in class related activities like games, parties, sleep overs, etc. due to aliments being so bad that I was constantly battling pain. As a young girl not meeting the standards of society standards of “beauty” it was hard to feel beautiful when you look like me.
In some cases, prescription or over the counter medications applied directly to the lesions may be helpful. Examples include:
The prognosis of eczema usually depends on the type you have and what treatments you use. If you had contact eczema, you would still have to be careful to not expose yourself to the substance again or your immune system will respond to it and you will develop a rash. Sometimes, it could be a chronic condition that is
Other lesions, such as eczema, body lice, insect bites, fungal infections, poison ivy, and various forms of dermatitis can make a person susceptible to this infection.... ... middle of paper ... ... The New York Times.
The Beauty Industry being such a wide market of services and products include providing for the care of our skin, hair, selling of perfumes and cosmetics (“What is the Beauty Industry?”2014) and now developing more extensively into basic cosmetic surgery and treatments, now gives society a big opportunity to pamper and nourish themselves in more extensive ways. Throughout this essay, the branches of dermatology and dermal therapies will be explained; common skin disorders and specifically a treatment called ‘Ultrasonic Peeling’ and how it can potentially help with skin disorders imposed today will be explored and described in detail. After the investigation of what Ultrasonic Peeling is and how it works, I will also state my opinion on how well I think the treatment benefits its users, give my evaluation if I would consider using it, what I think the positives and negatives are and in scenario, assess whether it is a treatment that more salons should consider offering.
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that affects 125 million people world wide according to the World Psoriasis Day consortium. The origin of psoriasis is unknown, but many doctors and researches believe that genetics, along with environmental factors, trigger a hyperactive reaction of the immune system that leads to the relatively harmless, yet uncomfortable skin disease. The response of the immune system induces skin cells to multiply and mature rapidly, causing the skin cells to accumulate on top of each other and as a result, the skin becomes red, scaly, itchy, and forms thick patches on the skin. Despite that this disease is the most frequent auto-immune disease in the world, there is no cure for it. Not only is there no cure for psoriasis, but this disease can lead to other problems depending on the severeness of the disorder for example: psoriatic arthritis. However, this chronic disease has several treatment options that if used correctly and in a timely manner, will reduce and lessen the symptoms.( Although there is no cure for psoriasis, understanding how it begins, recognizing the symptoms, and learning about treatment options can enhance the quality of life for a person diagnosed with psoriasis.)

Dear Financial aid Committee. I am writing to appeal for reinstatement of my financial aid which was revoked due to my poor grades during fall 2012. Although this is my second appeal, I take full responsibility for the drastic decline in my level of academic performance the past semester. I have a plan to get back on track.
During this time; I had started being “counseled” by my employer warning me of my attendance and how I needed to find a balance between work and my personal life. Unfortunately, due to my many absences and having to leave work early prior to Access Solutions and Choices getting involved per the recommendations of DCS, I
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson, is a fantastic novella demonstrating the relationship between good and evil. In addition to Stevenson's novella, the Bible describes good and evil in many ways. Romans 7:14-25 Explains that although people can want to do good, evil is always there too. Verse eighteen says, “for I know that there is nothing good in me as far as my sinful human nature is concerned. Even though I want to do good, I'm just not able to do it.”
...rease the likelihood of an asthma attack, which is sometimes brought about by stress. Additionally acupuncture has been used to try and minimize the symptoms of asthma patients, but little research has been done in support of this method ("Alternative Therapy for Asthma"). There are not any surgeries that are associated with the treatment of asthma, but there is a new treatment called bronchial thermoplasty, where the smooth muscle that is in the airways of the lungs is treated with a small heated probe (Little). This helps to dilate the airways and decreases the symptoms associated with asthma. This treatment is still in its early stages of research and will need to be tested more in depth before it becomes a common procedure (Little). All of these treatment methods, including traditional and nontraditional, can be used in order to help people control their asthma.
... the case of autoimmunity, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis are but a few that the immune system failed to operate. When the immune system doesn’t work then modern medicine has to step in to help our body’s heel.
Allergies are especially unique in the medical field because they differ among patients. An allergy is a specific immunologic reaction to a normally harmless substance, one that does not bother most people. People with allergies are often sensitive to many substances. Common allergens that cause allergic reactions include seasonal, outdoor allergens like tree, grass, and weed pollen, and year-round indoor allergens including dust particles, animal dander, and indoor mold. Most people usually can be cured by various treatments.
Allergies is the sensitivity and response to allergens. An allergen is a substance that can cause sensitivity in the body. Some allergens are pollen, dust, pet dander or hair, some food, and even soaps or medications. An allergen can be, ingested, breathing it in, or touching the skin. Once an allergen is in the body, the body then releases histamines. Histamine allows white blood cells and plasma to enter the tissue by moving through the walls of the capillary. This movement of cells into the tissue causes swelling and inflammation. This inflammation in turn causes pain by putting pressure on nerve endings. Some other reactions to allergens are increased mucus production in the nose and respiratory system. This increased mucus causes
Coughing, sneezing, runny noses allergies are not a fun thing for a person to have. Many people have allergies, but not a lot of people truly know what an allergy is and how they work. Allergies are a reaction from the body caused by certain substances. These reactions can trigger symptoms that come in different levels of severity. No matter age, body type, or gender anybody can have an allergy. “As many as 30% of U.S. adults and 40% of children”(“What Is an Allergic Reaction?”) have allergies. I fortunately don’t have any medical conditions, but I do have allergies and have always wondered what they really were.
