Dear Msgr. Brockman. My name is Carolina Cervantes-Paredes. I am 18 years old and 1 attend Knightdale High School. I am requesting that you receive the sacrament of Confirmation on May 19, 2024 at 2:30 pm Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral. My Catholic faith is important to me because from a young age, my parents have taught me that my faith is above everything else in life. And since then, I have grown to realize that the Catholic Church is the only true and real Church that Christ has founded. After being Confirmed, I am dedicated to continue serving at the Cathedral and to show God that I will continue to serve and give my life for him. That all the service I have done over the past years has been for God and God only. I was baptized when I was 10 months old at St. …show more content…
I have chosen him to walk this journey with me because he has been there for me as a guide in my Catholic faith. My sponsor has prayed rosaries with my family and I. Whenever my sponsor has noticed me serving, he never fails to tell me to continue the path I am on because he likes to encourage my dedication and love for serving. The saint I have chosen for my Confirmation is Saint Clare of Assis. My saint lived in Italy and was born on July 16, 1194 and passed on August 11, 1253. Her feast day is on August 11 and she is the patron saint of eye disease. some of the things I have read about my Saint is that she would help serve the sick, she prayed a lot, and also cut her hair as a signal of renunciation. I love how strong and interesting my saint is. I would like to continue serving my church the same way she helped serve the poor. After being confirmed, I would like to continue to serve as an usher. Serving the Cathedral is a service that I am very passionate about and dedicated to. Although I have only had a couple months of serving, I am always finding ways to improve on the way that I serve. I believe that if I continue serving the cathedral, I will continue to be on
St Perpetua was brave until her death. She continued loving and praying to God in the days leading to her execution, and when asked to do so to save her life, never renounced her faith. I want to be confirmed so that I can continue my faith journey in a way that pleases and serves God, and I think than St. Perpetua can help me in this. I know it won’t be easy, but I also know that it could never be as hard as what St. Perpetua withstood for her faith. I will try my hardest every day to live up to her example, and by God’s grace let my faith overrule my fear in times of
“Dear brothers and sisters, after the great Pope John Paul II, the Cardinals have elected me a simple, humble laborer in the vineyard of the Lord. The fact that the Lord knows how to work and to act even with insufficient instruments comforts me, and above all I entrust myself to your prayers. In the joy of the Risen Lord, confident of his unfailing help, let us move forward. The Lord will help us, and Mary, His Most Holy Mother, will be on our side. Thank you.”
E: Mary, Queen of Scots, has been found guilty of plotting to usurp Her Majesty the Queen and has been sentenced to death. … I suppose it was only a matter of time. In all the nineteen years she’s been imprisoned, she never once relented on the opinion that she should be Queen. I had hoped she wouldn’t have stooped as low as to actually attempt to overthrow me though. What did she think would happen were she to ascend the throne anyhow? That the public would welcome her with open arms? They have not forgotten the bloody persecution she wielded against them. The Catholic Church may prefer her as ruler, but my Church would not stand for her injustice. … Even though she desires to see me disposed, I do not wish her dead. Despite our differences
I have participated in various groups through my adolescence and young adulthood, several of which had defined rights of passage. The first group I will address is my religion; I am an Episcopalian, and when I was 13 I became confirmed. In the Episcopal church there is a tendency to baptize children soon after birth, so it is a passive acceptance of religion. Once one has matured they have the option to choose the religious sacrament of confirmation. According to the Episcopal Church webpage, confirmation is defined as a mature commitment to Christ, and is affirmed by the bishop of the diocese. Confirmation is also described as the rite of seeking a theology. Therefor, it is considered as a right of passage of young adults throughout the Episcopal
Highly recognized by people, saints are famous around the world by people of all different backgrounds. Many different Christian-based religions have or use saints as a purpose to get people to pray more often than they would usually, or have them to be used as “communion saints”. There are over 10,000 saints, many with different backgrounds, histories, and meanings. Some of them are patron saints, which shield or protect a certain person, place, or thing. Saints can mean a lot of different things to people, with some of the most famous ones being Joan of Arc, Saint Agnes, Saint Peter, Saint Patrick, and more, But one of them, Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, is easily overlooked and stands for a greater message even through her hard times.
I, {****}, a member of [*PARISH NAME AND LOCATION*], ask you, Bishop Grahmann, to confirm me as a member of the Roman Catholic Church. I would like to receive the sacrament because I want to become an active member and participant in the Catholic Church. After I have received it, I will be recognized as a full member of the Catholic Community, enabling me to be involved in the parish with more depth. As a confirmed individual, I will be better able to participate in many events within my church community. Receiving Confirmation will also allow me to be closer to God.
She found out about this saint when her sister told her one day: “keep praying to Saint Peregrine”. She was not aware of whom this person was, but nevertheless, she took her sister’s word and continued to pray to him. Then suddenly one day, she received a small book with a picture of Saint Peregrine on the front, from my cousin Jonalyn. Inside was the story of Saint Peregrine’s upbringing and the miraculous tale of how his cancer was cured. Ever since then, my mother continued to learn about the saint and she acquired many pictures, statuettes and other little memorabilia that had any relation to this particular saint. She adored Saint Peregrine and what the stood for. My mom was able to turn to him whenever she was in need of help and eventually, her state became better. She is currently almost completely cancer-free, but until that day, she says she will continue to pray to Saint
The letter that Skylar had been waiting on for a while finally arrived. It’s his acceptance letter to The Fort Valley State University 1890 land-grant institution. This is the conversation we had on the bus ramp early one morning as Skylar was entering the building. Skylar has been one of my best agriculture students for the last four years. He is dedicated and has a strong willingness to succeed. Since the first day of my class he has always had a dream to attend college, but because he was a special needs student and money was a problem he wasn’t sure he would be accepted. This acceptance letter was proof for him that he was going to college and become an animal science major. Skylar is the first in his family to go to college. During this time of the year Skylar isn’t the only one getting these acceptance letters, thousands of students all over the country are

Saint Catherine of Siena is the saint that I have chosen to be my saint. She was very interesting to me, and her story was very intriguing. She is the patron saint of fire prevention, bodily ills, sick people, miscarriages, nurses, and illness. She was canonized in 1461 by Pope Pius II. Her feast day is now celebrated on April 29.
The seven formal sacraments play a major role in religion, each have their own divine meaning that was set forth by the Lord. Confirmation is the sacrament in which one seals Baptism, where one is given the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. This is when you make a choice as a follower of God to live your life as a Christian, and to wholeheartedly accept Jesus Christ into your heart.
Confirmation is is one of the three Sacraments of Christian Initiation. The other two sacraments of Christian Initiation are Baptism and the Eucharist. Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism through the outpouring of the gifts of Holy Spirit. Confirmation is a rite of initiation of not only Catholicism, but other Christian denominations too. Confirmation 's roots can be found in the New Testament, it is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and its practice has not derived much from the Early Church practice.
Your letter dated 20 October 2016 reached me and the content is well understood. Thank you dear for your letter and for all you shared with me. I was thrilled to read from you after a very long time. I recap the content of your letter to be certain I understood what you shared. You shared your concern and the decision you have arrived at about the sacrament of penance.
In a religion where one’s relationship with God Himself defines their eventual destiny, it is ever important to establish the best relationship possible, in order to reach the ultimate destiny with God in His Kingdom. To most Christians, including Catholics, living a life for God is advanced with His help and His help only. This can occur in many different forms, and some of the most widely known examples of people who have felt the hand of God personally reach into their lives are Saints. In the Catholic religion, saints are people especially celebrated by the Church and its people.
Christians must come to understand that in order to serve God and His people well, we need to know and live better my Catholic Faith. We must study and read about the Church’s teachings and traditions to appreciate them better, but we must also allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in our Christian lives. He will do it! God’s Spirit desires to form a close relationship with each and every one of us. Indeed, He is the Great Unknown Companion within us that we already received in our baptism to form us perfectly into God’s image and likeness. However, if in Baptism we receive the Spirit to bear Christ 's image, it 's equally true that in Confirmation we are sent by God in that same Spirit to bear true witness to Christ. With the Holy Spirit we are sent to share with others the wonders that God has done, and to share that God is alive and that God is love. Therefore, open your heart to the Holy Spirit’s presence and action in your life; always invite Him with desire, faith, and fervor to fill you completely; and pray to Him constantly for wisdom, strength, guidance, and courage. God will do it – yes, He will! God bless you
