In the book Of Mice And Men, Lennie got into some trouble when he accidentally killed Curley’s wife. He did not mean to, but when he was touching her hair, he was to rough and Curley’s wife was loud so Lennie went to make her quiet and shook her too hard, causing her neck to break. George found out and the other guys were going to lynch Lennie, but george decided to kill him instead. This was a good decision that George made. It stopped Lennie from getting into anymore trouble. Also, it was not safe for Lennie to be in society for what he might do to different people of that certain community. Candy was talking about how Curley was going to lynch him and that Curley is going to get him killed. Curley alone, was going to make Lennie suffer. Curley said that he was going to shoot the guts out of Lennie, even if he only had one hand. The other guys were putting a lynch party together because they did not want him to get away with what he did. On the other hand, most people would say that murder is murder and that it was not a good idea to shoot Lennie. If George would not have shot Lennie to kill him, then the other guys at the farm would have, just made him suffer a lot longer than George did. George made Lennie’s death quick but the guys at the farm would not have. Either way, Lennie was going to end up getting murdered, but George had the choice to make it quick and painless, or long and very painful. In conclusion, It was a good decision for George to kill Lennie. George was stopping Lennie from getting into more trouble with the other guys from the farm. Also, the other guys would have done so much worse to Lennie, because they thought that what he did was bad enough to make him suffer with excruciating pain, and that it was not safe for Lennie to be in society.
