In ending of "Of Mice And Men", George kills Lennie after he killed Curley's wife. However, I can still feel sympathy towards George, and see his action as justifiable. In the beginning of the book I had sympathy towards George. The book starts with George talking to Lennie and from this you learn a lot about their relationship. How would you feel if one of your close friends killed one of their friends, but had a reason for doing it? Would you see them as a murderer? As my class is discussing the book ¨Of Mice and Men¨ George shot Lennie and most people believe that George had a justification as to murdering Lennie. I personally don’t agree with that; I believe George murdering Lennie wasn’t justified because it goes against The Bible, the law, and it was premeditated.
This can be identify George as a good friend or a bad friend to Lennie. In my personal opinion I think that George is a good friend to lennie. Because that I think that george need to kill Lennie, the first reason is that if Lennie get caught by Curly and the others he will still died but he will be torture to death by them. One important reason that shows George's actions of killing Lennie is a euthanasia is a very important reason. I disagree and believe George’s heroic journey instead led him to the mercy killing of Lennie. George Milton and Lennie Small are both introduced in the novel at the same time as being close companions. George kills Lennie without malice, but with compassion, and therefore the death of Lennie is a mercy killing and not a murder. George is faced with the ultimate obstacle of his life, which is killing his longtime friend, so that the men from the ranch cannot torture him, kill him, or throw him into jail.

In conclusion, It was a good decision for George to kill Lennie. George was stopping Lennie from getting into more trouble with the other guys from the farm. Also, the other guys would have done so much worse to Lennie, because they thought that what he did was bad enough to make him suffer with excruciating pain, and that it was not safe for Lennie to be in society. George has only wanted the best for Lennie and nothing else. In hindsight, George didn’t truly murder Lennie. George knew that Lennie was a danger to himself, George, and others. Lennie was free of the wrong things in life that came because someone wasn’t there to look after him all the time. George also can’t be blamed for that either, a man must have some time to himself and that's what George was doing. After so many incidents, George knew that there wouldn't be a better future, Lennie will always be getting into trouble even if he doesn't want any.
