In the end, Elle solves a case by knowing the basic beauty routine of a female. She used her knowledge of beauty practices to put the pieces together of a murder case. In the many movies, women who love fashion and hair are seen as not intelligent. In this movie, it displays that women can be intelligent no matter what their background is. Back in the 2000s, when this movie was created, intersectionality was not as big of a topic in popular culture and in film production, so there was not a big focus on minorities, like African Americans. There was no display of any of that in this

After experiencing a traumatic car crash, Michelle, the protagonist of director Dan Trachtenberg’s film 10 Cloverfield Lane, wakes up in an underground bunker owned by a man named Howard. Howard claims to have saved her from a widespread chemical attack that has contaminated the air, with his bunker being the only place to take refuge for the next couple of years. Yet as the film progresses, Howard’s controlling and threatening demeanor eventually brings Michelle to escape, allowing her to come across the actuality of the situation outside the isolated bunker. Throughout the production, Trachtenberg arranges close frames, manipulates the camera’s focus, and chooses specific lighting to create an ominous tone that mystifies and disturbs viewers.
The movie teaches us to look beyond the cover and into who someone is as a person. We also learn that sometimes contact with people makes us reconsider our judgement towards them, to find out the real person underneath.
It is no secret that there is an obvious difference of how women are portrayed in the media versus men. This movie discussed female characters never having lead roles and stated that when they did it ended in the women depending on, loving, or having to have a man. One young high school girl said, “Women never play the protagonist. The girls are
Tracy’s identity development is heavily influenced by her new friendship with Evie from that moment on. Moreover, the woman in the ?eye of the Beholder? not only wanted beauty but she felt the need for acceptance. She was denied this when she was taken to a disability camp. It?s amazing how in the movie, people were separated and treated unequally because of their physical appearances, and as result, they could not share the same society. This is in fact is a metaphor for how discrimination was once in extreme existence in this society. For example, African Americans once had to use: different bathrooms, water fountains, and were even segregated to non-white school. They were even isolated to the worse parts of the cities.
In the movie Legally Blonde the male dominance over the legal field is everywhere. This movie is based on a typical ?good looking? girl. Reese Witherspoon?s character Elle Woods is a tall, thin, blonde haired, blue eyes girl, the typical female in which society sees as ?perfect. Along with these things Elle also is rich, is in a sorority, and is portrayed as a ?dumb blonde? with no common sense. The bulk of the movie is based around Elle going to Harvard Law School in hopes to impress her high society boyfriend. Throughout this movie the gender biases and the male dominance over the legal and field is so blatantly obvious you can?t miss it.
The attitude towards women has changed dramatically since 1990, the year that this film came out; you will however, find a few men who still have the attitude that women were put on this earth for their enjoyment. In the early nineties, women were hyper-sexualized and viewed as pawns in a game. MTV showed music videos with scantily clad women, which were seen as extremely scandalous at the time. The nineties was also an era of growth, liberalization and sexual discoveries that carried over from the eighties.... ...
While being a blonde with a tiny Chihuahua, she consistently is stereotyped as being a “dumb blonde”. Although Elle is a powerful woman, like a feminist, she does not portray it throughout the entire film. Elle receives an internship from professor Callahan; this becomes the point in the film where Elle receives assurance that Harvard Law is the right place for her. She was motivated by this offer and realizes that all of her hard work was actually paying off. Callahan shows his sexist behavior throughout many scenes. When he wanted coffee, he looked at Vivian to get it for him, he never asked a man to get for him. Callahan pulled Elle into his office, where she thought they were going to talk about the internship. It turns out Callahan came on to Elle and only offered her the internship because he thought she was just a pretty face. Elle does get discouraged but uses this as a fire beneath
She sets up the lives of individuals in order to make them feel loved again, or to give them a taste of their own medicine. By becoming so preoccupied with fixing the lives of others, she soon realizes that everyone else is happy except her. Amelie eventually realizes that no one will rearrange her life in order to find happiness, she must learn to take action and arrange her own life so she can achieve happiness and love. Viewers who watch this movie will eventually start to consider some of their own desires and the idea of having to pursue their goals shall awaken within them. Through this film the audience can learn that if they want to reach happiness and other goals in life they must take action, because if they decide to sit around and wait, they can find themselves sitting around waiting eternally unhappy. By audience I refer it mainly towards females because throughout time women have been neglected of wanting to pursue their desires and goals in life. This film persuades women into taking action and following their heart in order to obtain what they truly
