Mongols, known for their barbaric intentions, spread fear around Asia. The Mongols had a negative impact on the world during their rule of the Asian continent from 1206 to 1368 by influencing death, fear, and torture. In the face of battle, they showed no fear and no mercy. Killing everyone in their path to get what they want. The Mongols left a legacy in the world, one everyone will remember. Battles the Mongols were in were hard and brutal. They had won a majority of their battles due to their battle tactics. One of their most unpredictable and brutal tactics was where they would pretend a retreat. This was used when a small group of Mongols would suddenly retreat. The enemy would go and chase them off. An estimated 40 million people died from the Mongols. They would go through a town and wipe out the population. Some of the towns or villages they attacked never recovered from the attack. The Mongols would sometimes just kill everyone. In 1237, Kozelsk (Russia) was attacked by mongols. Everyone died, there was no survivors. One way they would kill people from Persian manuscript (1300), they attacked would take the people and stick their heads in the dirt/mud suffocating them or just executing them. Nishapur, Persia, one of the towns attacked by the Mongols had a brutal attack on them. The people in charge of the attacks were given orders to leave nothing breathing. Everything from children to dogs were killed in this attack. After they were all killed they had slayed all the heads of the bodies putting them into piles of men then women and children. This just shows the types of things that the Mongols did to spread fear throughout the world. How do these things connect? The Mongols Brutal attacks and battle tactics all show how barbaric they were. They never showed mercy to know one. From finding different ways to kill people in the most torturous ways to just killing everyone in their path. This was their way of spreading fear from city to city, ensuring they get what they want.
