In other words, the care lavished on the lawn reflects the homeowner’s care of everything else about the home. The lawn itself may not be the object of desire.
For the average homeowner, owning a chainsaw might not even be considered an option. First of all, operating this kind of equipment is not a piece of cake especially for a novice chainsaw user. Second, assembly of the chainsaw is quite complicated and tiring. Third, purchasing a chainsaw doesn’t come cheap.
Gradually, a garden can be a comfort place for a person. It can even bring a community together. Maybe it can also symbolize the meaning to a belief. A garden can benefit the gardener who is growing it or a community that is building one for a good cause. In “Sowing Change” by Donna Freedman, gardens means a lot to the community of North Lawndale, in Chicago. In “Marigolds” by Eugenia Collier, a garden full of a few Marigolds means the world to someone.
...w can anybody think you are going to care about anything more important? A well-kept lawn can convey to a person that you do care, even about the little things. It can also reveal your attitude towards work. One of America’s earliest statesmen, Benjamin Franklin, once said that “It is the working man who is the happy man. It is the idle man who is the miserable man.” This quote reveals another truth about work. The fact is that work does not necessarily have to be work. Mowing your lawn does not have to be a chore that needs to be done. It can be a great way to relax and get some exercise. It all depends on how you choose to view it.

There are many therapeutic values in this gardening activity that benefit patients entirely. For some, gardening is meaningful, purposeful, and goal-oriented activity (Hewitt, Watts, Hussey, Power; & Williams, 2013). Outdoor work has always been important to me, both on the farm and off it. As someone who enjoys working with my hands to accomplish something that is challenging and productive, horticulture was a natural field for me to look into as a career. Horticulture requires both physical strength and mental ability that is practical and based on solving a real-life problem, rather than simply being an intellectual exercise or on arbitrary conditions. Horticulture as a term is a rather broad definition of a variety of careers and activities; is it merely backyard gardening or is it biological research culminating in genetically modifying plants for the advancement of our economy and well-being? The answer is honestly both, and in this aspect, horticulture is a rare field of study offering both simple (on the face of it, at least) manual labor and incredibly advanced research and study careers. Horticulture is also rare in that it has ties to both age-old practices and traditions of gardening and plant production and new-age philosophies of environmentalism, research, and science. People have been cultivating plants for decoration and sustenance for millennia, and horticulture is the best term to describe these activities. However, horticulture is also the best description of the work done by scientists, researchers, and educators to advance our knowledge of both how plants grow and develop and how the world can utilize these properties. With that being said, to learn more about careers in horticulture the following research paper will describe the definition of horticulture, the education and qualifications necessary, and the specific careers available in horticulture.

Really, I mean it. Here’s the point where you get to have fun and see some results. Mark the boundaries of your garden. You can use stakes, rope, spray paint, or just about anything to mark your boundaries. Next, remove any grass, weeds, or other vegetation in your garden area. Get down to the bare, naked soil. Believe it or not, the soil needs air. After a light rain, dig and turn over the top layer of soil with your shovel. If you don’t want to wait for rain, you can cheat and mist the soil with a hose. Then use the rake to break up any clumps. Remove any rocks you find. These steps will help aerate the soil and make it easier for your plants’ roots to grow once planted. They also makes the next step easier. Take a moment. Let a handful of that soft, brown, dark “gold” sift through your fingertips. The soil is where the action
