The wind slithered like a serpent through the forest and across the lake. Nibbling at my nose, caressing my cheeks. Waves calmly lap again the canons of the pontoon. We stood all four off us on a pontoon the size of a kitchen table, ancient foam exposed mold creeping its way across the carpet. We stand patiently jigging our lines through the way how to capture the beast that lie beneath the calm surface of the loch. The water both clear and black descends for what looks to be miles in reality mere dozens of feet, vibrant algae and water flora ascend up from the depths giving the water a lively glow in stark contrast to the water itself. It’s bulking and brown the same shade of the leafs on view this without context would have believed the fish to be a football rather than the scaly brown trophy that swam before me. The boat has become a rucas the boat bobbing up and down violently as my father searches for the net. I the beast draws closer everyone except my father is leaning over the side of the boat in attempt to view the epic battle ensuing before the eyes. Our guide even exclaimed,”Grad the net, this could possibly the largest fish ever hooked in the lake!”. Finally my father grabs the net and plunges it into the water as the fish makes its final approach I menubar the line and fish swim perfectly into the net, victory! The joy I feel is immense a feeling that before this moment myself had never had the pleasure of feeling. I lift the fish from the net and crack the hook from its mouth with minimal effort. The fish is hard the touch pure muscle, teeth sharp very easily one of the apex predator of the lake. The snap of the camera signifies the end to the battle as I stand next to my father slain beast in hand
