Macbeth is a play written by Shakespeare, based on genre of a tragedy. The play begins with Macbeth as one of the main character, a noble kinsman who served as the Thane of Cawdor by King Duncan of Scotland. Followed by the encounter of the three witches, who prophesied his future as the heir of England. His wife, lady Macbeth, a powerful, manipulative woman, convinces him to kill the King, in order to get ahold of the throne. She believes the prophecies of the three witches, showing her faith in witchcraft and magic, after knowing that she could gain her power from accomplishing this murder. She is thoroughly a cold hearted and an utterly unscrupulous women. In the beginning, her seemingly fearless and powerful undefeatable character soon taken over by guilt as the play progress, and she is “consumed by the demons within her”. Lady Macbeth is the dominant power at the beginning of the play, she persuades Macbeth to achieve his goal and plans the murder of Duncan.

Lady Macbeth has made a big impact on Macbeth’s downfall by using her persuasive skills to convince him to fulfill their greed. Though he initially disagreed upon lady Macbeth’s words, eventually she has used her own ways to make him become eager for the throne. “When you dust do it, then you are a man”, showing her full potential at manipulating him, by questioning his manhood. She thinks that unable to commit the crime is a weakness, and she uses this idealism on Macbeth. When she mentions Macbeth is “too full o’ the milk of human kindness”, suggests that he is to gentle and weak to murder Duncan. Knowing that Macbeth thinks very highly of his character and would not let down his dignity, so he would feel threatened as such if he does the opposite of her
