The materials used within this experiment were chosen to reflect and enlighten a problem with moderation and its lack of tooth care this caused a demand for mostly household items for this experiment, of course teeth cannot be found within a house unless you own or have connections with a dentist or another type of tooth founding company. To get teeth for this experiment talk to your dentist or other tooth care enthusiast. The materials consist of nine sets of molars or k9 teeth in decent condition, three cups that won’t affect teeth if in constant contact, regular tap water, regular sized Starbucks coffee, store bought lemon juice, a gunpowder measuring rig or another type of accurate scale that uses grams, plastic forks, and paper and pencil to

record data.
This experiment was recorded on a flat sturdy unmoving surface for 7 days in order to get the most accurate reading and data for this experiment. The reason movement within the cup can cause more of an inconsistency is because it will allow non-constant flow of liquid to reach and interact with the teeth and the teeth could possible erode at a different pace than conveniently wanted. The teeth where chosen by correlation to the most seen, to the teeth that people never see in the back of your mouth, this allows the effect of both teeth that are commonly known to be tested. Safety precautions within project are to always make sure to wash your hands before and after you take your data as to keep you and others from getting sick and from messing the data up. Problems that might accrue with data is an inconsistent measure of weight due to liquid on the measuring equipment, to prevent this clean the measuring equipment with a dry rag after every tooth to get the most
consistent data. Results The data collected was a surprise it contained lots of interesting incites on what coffee, water, and lemon juice could potentially do if you were not to brush your teeth for a straight week, this is not perfect if this where your mouth you would eat different materials that could increase or decrees the amount of decay that would erode and destroy your teeth. The data also reviled that when teeth are placed in coffee they eat away teeth till bacteria and other substances start to grow on the teeth (appendix 6). Lemon juice acted as suspected and eroded the teeth to the point where all the old enamel was eroded away to a white layer with gum showing through parts of the crown (bag 2), water was used as saliva for a control there was little or no erosion on the teeth but they did yellow (bag 3). All the teeth saw a significant increase of erosion when they were placed in the liquids for the first day (appendix 9). The teeth all changed color from the teeth before they were placed inside the cups. All the teeth changed size a little except the water witch only where given a one gram change over all.
In the experiment “ Talking to plants “ from Mythbusters, potential problems include the use of greenhouses with no sound insulation, a non-homogeneous location and the use of only one specie to infer on a population. In another scientific study, researchers chose to use “ a noiseless growth chamber to prevent any effects from extraneous noise “ and the use “ growth chambers under continuous light at 28 c and 65-75% relative humidity “ in order to maintain a homogeneous location for all plants during the experiment (Jeong et al., 2008) . This helped further explain the findings because with the use of noiseless chambers you can assure that the only noise that the plant was receiving was the one given in the treatment and a valid conclusion

The article Poor Teeth was written by Sarah Smarsh with the goal in mind being to shed light on the issue between upper and lower class society in a particularly concrete way. Teeth and dental health are an easy thing for people to imagine in their head because everyone has a set whether they’re white and shiny or black and rotted. This makes it easy to draw a comparison between people that care for their teeth and those who don’t. However, access to dental knowledge and services which the lower class often times doesn’t have is very different between the poor and the rich. While the rich stroll through life showing off their perfect glossy white rows of teeth, there are less privileged people out there with barren mouths whose weak pale gums
False teeth, which are known today as “dentures”, are bony plates which are installed into a patient’s mouth by means of adhesion to the fleshy mandibular or maxillary arch. Although these are now relatively inexpensive and their requirement is often taken for granted, they have not always been so easy to come by. A look at the history of false teeth shows a pain-staking and quirky evolution:
CONCLUSION “There are just too many variables,” said Dr. C. Michael Bowers, author of “Forensics Dental Evidence: An Investigator’s Handbook,” (Bowers, 2004.)
The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder illustrates a family dodging one catastrophe after another. By the skin of their teeth, they will defeat ice, flood, and war. The main characters of this play are George and Maggie Antrobus, their two children, Henry and Gladys, and Sabina, who appears as the family's maid in the first and third acts, as well as a beauty queen seductress in the second act. The Skin of Our Teeth takes place at the Antrobus home in Excelsior, New Jersey; and the Atlantic City boardwalk.
In White Teeth, Zadie Smith warns against the dangers of purism and letting cultural background completely shape one’s identity while simultaneously paying tribute to the rich heritage and beliefs of her characters. It is a cautionary tale for immigrants but is never dismissive of their past. Smith is merely advising against tunnel vision and stressing the need to adapt to one’s environment. She shows the beauty that can stem from adaptation while warning that an inability to do so will lead to one’s downfall. London plays an especially important role as the battleground where the past and the present clash; a melting pot with a large immigrant population and inevitable moral struggle.
Halitosis is the medical term for Bad Breath. When people think of bad breath they automatically think that food is the cause of the bad odor. When in reality there are many factors that can lead up to bad breath. Yes food is one of them but there are other reasons as to why a person may be experiencing bad breath or teeth staining. A person may experience bad breath or teeth staining because they may have a health problem that is causing the odor other factors are smoking and chewing tobacco.
Imagine having to spend half your fortune on correcting your teeth.”Tooth decay was a perennial national problem that meant a mouthful of silver for patients, and for dentists a pocketful of gold.” (Wallis, 17) If patients don’t take care of their teeth, many issues can start to appear later in their life. Some patients are not knowledgeable of the correct procedures toward keeping a healthy smile. In order to keep a healthy smile patients must be better informed about the knowledge to achieve that success and also maintain.
You might have to check patient’s health using thermometers and blood pressure cuffs. You should be comfortable while using the tools necessary for cleaning and caring for teeth, such as probes, scalers and polishers. Your profession require the use of X-ray equipment or lasers at times, so again one should be able to handle the machine comfortably. Care and precision in the use of such machines is important to patient

Picture yourself with a toothache or someone with poor hygiene and knowing you cannot do anything to change it without a dentist. A dentist is specialized individual that treats the diseases and conditions that affect the oral cavity.

Forensic dentists have played a major role in the identification of remains in mass disasters, in crime investigations, in ethnic studies, and in the identification of decomposed and disfigured bodies in situations such as fire and car accidents (1). Teeth are considered to be a great form for identification as teeth are mostly composed of enamel. Enamel is the hardest tissue in the body and can withstand extremely harsh conditions (1). Two forms of dental identification of humans exist. These two forms are comparative and when no ante-mortem (before death) dental records are available. The comparative form of identification compares the ante-mortem and post-mortem (after death) dental records (1). Dental records con...
Growing up I heard many stories from my peers of their experiences at the dentist’s office. It is upsetting to say that most of my visits were vividly terrifying. As a child, the grinding, scratching, and high-pitched twangs of the instruments digging around in my mouth would leave my ears ringing and teeth vibrating every single time. The smell of fluoride and disinfectants permanently infected the air, sending chills through my body the minute I walked in. I quickly learned that latex posses an extremely unappetizing aftertaste. Needless to say, I was not always enthusiastic about going to the dentist’s office and getting braces did not make anything better for me.
