Kit and Ace is a Canadian fashion brand and it launched in 2012. They make technical apparel for people’s real life. They take the best principles of athletic performance design and apply the clothes to clothing people can wear all day (Kit and Ace). Kit and Ace created for people who love to move and understand how technical clothing should perform. In addition, people who are spoiled by the movement and comfort of athletic apparel and find it hard to wear anything else. Kit and Ace brought the comfort and performance of people’s gym clothes to people’s street clothes. Therefore, people never have to sacrifice functionality for style (Kit and Ace). The feature of Kit and Ace is that they applied their expertise in technical design to clothing.
They pride itself on creating the quality merchandise which is future-focused designs and materials. The clothing is smooth seams, anti-microbial no iron fabrics with dynamic stretch (Kit and Ace). In addition, Kit and Ace’s clothing is plain and their style is minimal colors such as black, gray, and white, straightforward styles, and the clothing’s most rudimentary component. Kit and Ace use proprietary fabric conceived by the Wilsons, Qemir™ (pronounced “come ‘ere”), brings technical properties to noble fibers and Technical Cashmere™ (Kit and Ace). It is Shannon’s own creation that provides conventional cashmere’s benefit (Matei). The Qemir™ and Technical Cashmere™ are blended of cotton, elastane, nylon, and wool fibers. Their cashmere is not an Italian cashmere, re-created cashmere (Philips). This means Kit and Ace added technical attributes to seemingly precious fabrics like cashmere and silk. In addition, the reason why this cashmere is ‘technical’ is that it’s composed of varying proportions of viscose, elastane, and approximately 9 percent cashmere (Matei). It keeps the clothing’s shape and all the lavish qualities of cashmere (Banks). Moreover, their clothes are breathable grommets, articulated knees, and hidden cell phone pockets. Kit and Ace also added functional details to their clothes. For example, shrinking integrity, breathability, venting, wicking, stain shield technology, meticulous Italian tailoring and performance trims (Kit and Ace).
Kool-aid was invented by a man named Edwin Perkins He was born in the state of Iowa but he eventually went to live in Nebraska. At about 1927 he invented Kool-aid He was inspired by the drink Fruit smack, but because he wanted to lower the cost of shipping he removed all fluids from the drink. This dry powder eventually became Kool-aid. However Kool-aid did not always go by the same name It was originally Kool-Ade but because Ade refers to juice he had to change it tho the name it has today. Eventually Kool-aid got their own mascot the cool-aid man (He often broke through walls), They also had a comic with 7 issues, along with the Atari 2600 came the “Adventures of Kool-aid Man”. The strengths of the book come from its’ accessibility. The book is easy to follow and provides readers with a great deal of information about the production of mass-manufactured clothing. As well as brings awareness to its’ many issues which we inadvertently take part in when we purchase such products. The book is well written and thoroughly researched but does have its’ share of weaknesses.

L.A. Gear is an athletic shoe manufacturer that is struggling in the athletic footwear industry. The company is ranked number three following Nike and Reebok. L.A. Gear is well known to its female customers due to their fashionable shoe line. To be able to gain some ground on the other shoe manufacturers L.A. Gear is going to have to develop a men's shoe line and capture some of the male buyers. This is not going to be an easy task since Nike and Reebok spend an extensive amount of money on their advertising campaigns including celebrity spokesmen. L.A. gear not only needs to capture the male buyers but they also need to maintain their female customers so a delicate balance is needed. An extensive research and marketing campaign will be necessary to penetrate this market and still maintain its loyal customers and brand recognition. Once the research is gathered a full scale marketing campaign will follow once the new direction of the company is determined.
