The Shadow Quest series is a distinctive combination of genres that comes in paperback and ebook format. While they are classified as paranormal romances, they also include aspects of dark fantasy, sci-fi space epic, and action adventure. The novels incorporate all manner of the supernatural ranging from vampires, witches, fairies, dragons, demons and the liberal sprinkling of human characters. The Shadow Quest novels could also fit the classification of adult romance as some of the plotlines feature the love stories of alien characters that are loosely derived from popular lore and mythology. The novels introduce a new character in each novel with mysterious powers that struggle against another supernatural character with different yet equal strength power. Taking place on a variety of universes and fictional worlds, they have well-developed characters that will draw you in with their wit, humor and charming ways, even as they struggle to achieve supremacy over one another. The books have an intriguing twist from the conventional paranormal romance in that almost none of the characters is on a quest for love even as they end up in love in the midst of the turmoil and chaos all around …show more content…

Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the char...
Pleasure, sorrow, and Curiosity are what these characters made you feel at the end. Each character had their own taste and style, it was like I was at a restaurant and each character was a choice on the menu, topped off with their own unique way. All these characters added their own twists and turn onto the ride and at the end Jane, John, Mustapha, and Edgar left me wanting more.
This book is a very interesting read, if you have some self discipline. I mean that you need some self discipline because this book didn’t really captivate me in the sense that I couldn’t put it down. But after reading it for a while, I started to appreciate the author’s way of describing the characters and actions in this book.

novels I'll willingly read. I mostly enjoy Kishan's character. He is kind of a rebel, and he likes to
One of the most useful in advancing this story is the typical, powerful character. Whether it be supernatural or cunning this character always comes out on top in the situation and holds the most control over others and their actions. The “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” , “Leda and the Swan”, and “Harrison Bergeron” all utilize an archetypical powerful character to create tension from how each character uses their power.
In all of human history, people have written about inhuman beings, many of which include gods, demons, wizards, sorcerers, sorceresses, and witches. Nowadays mystical beings are seen everywhere in media. Most of society stopped believing in these creatures years ago, but for 17th-century Salem, witchcraft became a living nightmare (Fremon, 1999).
I do not agree with Emilys deed, but admire her inflexible love. She reminds me to be careful when choosing a beloved. It is important to find someone who suits you. The other protagonist, Sarty, shows strong self-awareness. He is young, but he is able to determine right and wrong.
...to enjoy in this comic style book. The passage of time is not necessarily well defined in this book, it seems to go really fast and then really slow. For me that aspect is somewhat annoying. The less traditional reader will enjoy the comic book style used here where the pictures are in many instances more important than the actual words which appear in thought bubbles on the page. The plot is not necessarily extremely obvious, but I find that, at least in my opinion, most comic books don’t really have much of a plot. I think the authors did a good job of staying true to the style of writing intended for this publication and the dialogue seemed completely in line with the cartoon characters. I am not a fan of comics, this book didn’t really change that for me, but I think that it is an overall good piece of literature for those who enjoy this style of writing.

Jorge Luis Borges’ thought provoking and fantastical literature stems from his philosophical mind. His stories, especially “Death and the Compass”, focus on labyrinths and identity. Borges fascinates his audience with his analysis of reality. He combines fact and fiction to create the perfect genre of mystery. His characters’ conquest for the unknown defines his use of detective fiction.
