Since seventh grade Kaye Hoff started writing her own music. She had never really thought about writing her own music until an open mic session where a man came up to her and encouraged her to sing her own music instead of just Taylor Swift covers because she has such a beautiful voice.
Her musical inspiration is Sara Bareilles because she always makes the most out of her music.
“She is a very successful musician, who never studied music in college. She even wrote the music for the show Waitress.”
Hoff works on her music through the neutral zone and started recording her music for her album The Stuff in My Head in January and had her album release party in late May.
“My favorite song on my album is Outerworld because I was going through
a writer’s block and the songs expresses the feeling of not being able to explain your feelings through writing or verbal. The outerworld is the extroverts and the innerworld in the introverts.” Currently Kaye isn’t looking into music as a career and is focused on high school and graduating. Advice she has to other people interested in music and making their own album is find what chords and themes appeal to you and get lots of performance time. “It is a great feeling to spread your art and music to other people and hearing their responses and reactions.”
But then she decided to change her mind about being a pianist and became interested in politics
Dolly Parton’s life began in Sevier County, Tennessee. She was the fourth of twelve children born to a poor tobacco farmer (Dolly). Even though her family was very poor, that didn’t stop this bubbly little girl from pursuing her dreams. In fact, Dolly was able to turn the struggles that her family encountered into inspirations to her songwriting. One of the very popular songs “Coat of Many Colors” was written by Dolly regarding a true story of her mother sewing a multi-colored coat for her that was made from rags. Not only did Dolly grow up singing and songwriting at home in the family’s rustic one room cabin, she sang in church and by the time she was ten she was performing on local television and radio shows in Knoxville, Tennessee (Dolly). Dolly’s parents saw the gift that their daughter was given and purchased for her a guitar when she was only ten years old. She taught herself how to play and not only sang in the public eye but played the guitar as well. If this wasn’t already an open...
Born September 5, 1867 in Henniker, New Hampshire, Amy Marcy Beach (maiden- Cheney) lived in a time when female performers were considered improper and, as such, her husband encouraged Amy to focus her talents on composing rather than performing. A prolific female composer, Amy Beach wrote over 300 compositions, including the first-ever symphony written by a woman. Beach’s synesthesia influenced many of her compositions throughout her life, especially her small-scale works for piano and/or voice (Logan, 2015).
successful lyricist. Also, it was Ira’s interest in music that made their parents purchase the
“Life puts obstacles in one’s way for a reason, so you can’t give up when there comes one you can’t fight through.” This quote was once said by a great grandpa to his granddaughter. The main point of the quote is that life is full of challenges and one has to find a way to move around it or defeat it. Kaye Gibbons, an outstanding author, suffers from a disorder call bipolarity. Even though the creative, thinking outside the box, and intelligent author fought through many obstacles throughout her life she still managed to never give up, accomplish her goals, and make the best out of her disorder.
Being the most successful female songwriter of the latter half of the 20th century, Carole King was one of the greatest and most successful songwriters the music world has seen. King wrote an astounding twenty-five solo albums over her career and wrote and co-wrote a phenomenal 118 pop hits that made the Billboard Hot 100. Her contribution to music was enormous and has been recognised globally with an extensive list of awards and achievements to her name. Carole’s writing is honest and her song writing is reflective of the events she went through in her life and the raw feelings she felt, making it so relatable for her listeners. Aside from the limelight, her own personal life which she hid as much as possible, is as interesting as her songs.
The brilliant composer Clara Schumann was born as Clara Josephine Wieck on 13 September 1819. Even before her birth, her destiny was to become a famous musician. Her father, Friedrich Wieck, was a piano teacher and music dealer, while her mother, Marianne Wieck, was a soprano and a concert pianist and her family was very musically gifted. Her father, Friedrich, wanted to prove to the world that his teaching methods could produce a famous pianist, so he decided, before Clara’s birth, that she would become that pianist. Clara’s father’s wish came true, as his daughter ended up becoming a child prodigy and one of the most famous female composers of her time.
Pink’s individuality is really shown throughout her life, from the desire to be a musician from a young age, to her comments on the other music icons of her age and gender. Pink’s music is unique and no two songs seem to sound the same. She’s a girl that knows what she wants and I think this will aid in her staying atop the charts for a long time. It’s seems very impressive and almost a claim to fame for my hometown, that Alicia Moore, Pink, a Doylestown native, has made such a large impact on the world of music.
“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”
...d as NOW's magazine favorite 4 years in a row (Atwood 1). She has been writing since the age of five. She wrote comics and plays and even poetry. Her first published story came out when she was nineteen years old. Canadians adore good literature and she was always encouraged to write. Ms. Atwood has many publications in different genres. She has poetry, novels, and collections of short stories such as, Wilderness Tips.
She is a gifted writer who wrote her first book of poetry at the age of thirteen. Later she wrote and directed the gospel stage play “Glory to Jesus”, and is the co-author of the stage play “Daddy, Please Don't Leave Me”, which she also wrote and performed three of the songs in the play. In
When it comes to Chantel writing music, none of her songs are written after personal experiences or desires she has but rather about a much bigger idea. “Every song that I write is about sex, breakups, falling in and out of love, unsuccessful love and ect. This is funny because this is not a direct representation of my life at all and these lyrics are not about real people or real scenarios I have lived out. Rather my music is the sound of what is in my heart. Which is a deep empathic hurt for people who only experience carnal, physical, earthly unsuccessful love. They are either worship songs about a love that saves covers and overwhelms or they are about the opposite. A love that is carnal and

Adele has had a many different awards for her voice. Although in 2011, her voice was not all that pretty. She had a vocal hemorrhage, which is bleeding on the vocals, but she had a laser surgery and as of today she is just like normal. As any singer does she had many different inspirations or influence. In 2013 Wiz Khalifa said that he and Adele would be collaborating on his fifth studio album. Right now it is said that Adele is currently occupied by working on her third album, this album should be amazing. She has had her share of television bits, and she supports many different charities
Finally I asked how, in retrospect, she views her decision to start the Midnight Rooster. She paused thoughtfully before answering, "I never really thought I'd be a business person, but I guess its good to have that sort of mind set; go with the flow. I'm not too concerned with money. Relationships with people and doing what you love are more important to me."
When I opened up my window seat and found my ten full music diaries, it hit me just how much I love writing music and how substantial it is in my life. Music continuously remained such a prominent element in my life that it became a habit and not just a hobby. I still pull out my phone to jot down lyrics that pop into my head and mindlessly hum notes until I find a pleasant
