I enjoyed a good monster story because it gets my blood pumping. I'd say that most people who watch watch scary movies do it for entertainment, the fear factor. It also may be on to say, but I like to let my imagination go and sometimes think that I could also be a “monster” or not human to the very least, just to be different in someway. Although I wouldn't really want to be a monster I just moreless want to be different. Monsters also are fun to watch and some sense scary movies provide some kind of entertainment that I like and so do most other people. There are monsters out there though that have done things that are unforgivable to me. Mass murderers, killing of innocents, and people who act without empathy or emotions. I believe to be monsters in their truest form. To be unforgivable in the deeds that they did. Over human history there have been many people who can be considered true monsters. For example Adolf Hitler, he killed around 12 million people 50% of which were Jews. Although Hitler was never really romanticized about the actions he took. we as a society see what Hitler did as true evil and don't wish to glorify what he did. We have many stories that make the reader or watcher feel sympathetic for the character. Just like Dracula and Frankenstein, in which they were given back stories which made them look not completely awful is how they were originally portrayed. This is where people start to get drawn into some horror movie aspects where you can sometimes feel for or see yourself as that character. In most cases when you develop feelings for the main evil character it's probably for the backstory that they were given such as they once had love, they were once “normal”, but tragedy struck and they went down a twisted
