He was born on April 16, 1907, Vancourt, Quebec, Canada. Vancourt is a very small town in Quebec. Joseph Armand Bombardier was interested in building things since his childhood. He enjoyed exploring new objects and actually built them. For example, when he was at the age of 10, he designed a prototype of tractor by using cigar box and alarm clock. Furthermore, he built the first model of snowmobile at the age of 15. His curiosity from his childhood inspired him to become an great inventor. There is one miserable event that led Joseph-Armand Bombardier to be motivated and build snowmobile. In January 1934, his two-year old son died because it took too much time to reach the hospital without a machine that can travel on the snow. Therefore, Joseph wanted to build machine that can float on the snow and carry people. Two years after this accident, Joseph built the first proper snowmobile for the sale. He also created a company called Auto-Neige Bombardier. In 1959, he created snowmobile called Ski Doo, which is very familiar design as snowmobiles that we see now. Whether zipping along a winding trail, flying through the open flats, or powering up a steep hill, snow machines and the rider need to use physics to stay in control of the machine and themselves. The main components are the track, engine, skis and riding. Snowmachine tracks are essential to making a snowmachine move. Ever since snow machines first originated in the late 50's, designers have been finding ways to improve traction in a variety of conditions. Some of these conditions are driving on groomed trails, not groomed trails, overflow, and deep snow.
With the new technology the 1950s provided, by the end of the 1950s Bombardier was able to realize his childhood dream with the first prototype of the Skidoo snowmobile. The earliest snowmobile concepts sported five-foot wooden skis, a coil-spring suspension system, and were able to run at speeds up to 25 MPH. At first, the sales of the skidoo snowmobile were a little slow but eventually by the early 1960s sales of the skidoo snowmobile skyrocketed to unit sales of about 1200. The skidoo was able to capture interests of trappers, foresters, and prospectors among the few occupations. The Skidoo became a popular sport vehicle that was utilized by the workers that worked outdoors specifically. The 6 growing popularity of the snowmobile allowed Bombardier Snowmobile Ltd. to produce new lines and improving it at the same time. Eventually sales of the snowmobile reached over 8000 unit sales annually. Unfortunately, Bombardier Snowmobile Ltd. suffered a huge blow with the death of Joseph-Armand Bombardier on February 18th, 1964. Ultimately, Bombardier was able to realize his childhood dreams and left a legacy behind in the process of doing
He fig-ured that the normal half hour walk home might take as long as two hours in snow this deep. And then there was the wind and the cold to contend with. The wind was blowing across the river and up over the embankment making the snow it carried colder and wetter than the snow blanketing the ground. He would have to use every skill he’d learned, living in these hills, to complete the journey without getting lost, freezing to death, or at the very least ending up with a severe case of frostbite be-fore he made it back to Ruby.

In the following paragraphs you will learn about Charles Babbage early life, educational background, and how his inventions are relevant to today.
Snow is a concept that only a few people really know about. It seems like most people hate snow with a burning passion. However, the true northerners praise every day that it snows; mostly because it does not happen a lot. At one point everyone that participates in a snow sport has to hope that it will snow every winter. Unfortunately, our hopes and dreams do not always come true. That was why snowmaking was developed in the 1980s and has been upgraded every year so maximum snow production is possible. The first reason was to fill in the gaps that Mother Nature left out. However, now the amount of snow we receive is drastically less than what it used to be. Instead of making snow to fill in the gaps, we have to make most of the snow we ski
