Sorority Life Women in their sororities are connected by sisterhood, philanthropy, events, values and much more. Being apart of a sorority also has a mass amount of requirements such as, initiation, chapter, date dashes, formal and retreats. Many people decide to rush either to make friends, be apart of something on campus that feels like a community or for social opportunities. Before you can be apart of the sisterhood you need to be accepted into the sorority through the rush process. Prior to rushing you are told to “trust the process” because every girl will find the house that is best for them. However this is not always true. The rush process normally consists of six to ten day days. At the University of Colorado Boulder, the rush process is six days long, starting with orientation, then first date book, second datebook, third date book, preference night and finally bid day. If you decide not to join a sorority at the end of this week you still have the possibility of meeting some of your closest friends at college during this process. On the first day, which is orientation you are told what to expect throughout the week. My first picture represents the second day of rush, first date book! First datebook is a very exciting day because you get to meet your potential sisters. You go to every sorority house on the first day and have conversations with two to three girls at each house.
