The day was November 22, 1963 in the city of Dallas,Texas with thousands of John F. Kennedy supporters crowding the sidewalks waiting to see the beloved man. John F. Kennedy was scheduled to ride through downtown Dallas in a topless car. As thousands of fans of JFK watched him stroll through the streets, in just a split second a great day would be flipped upside down as one of the most devastating date in history. It all began when John entered his car and started the parade at approximately 11;45 am. He went through the streets of Dallas into he turned the corner and started heading down Elm Street. Kennedy was that he had money which helped him get his name across the country, so that way people knew who this random stranger was. The money also helped him look presentable in front of all the citizens he had to impress when either giving a speech or just going to a political dinner. The next thing that made him extremely popular was his ability to communicate with different types of ethnic/language groups. This really boosted his likeness since now if you speak a different language you can now communicate one on one with the president. Finally what helped out the most was that John Kennedy never let any personal issues get in the way of his political business. This gave the feeling to the U.S citizens that they finally found a president who will put the country first and his personal problems second. All in all these are some of his attributes added together that gained John F. Kennedy an amazing support group. The day was November 22, 1963 when all of a sudden our president was shot and killed in the town of Dallas, Texas. It all started to fold out when John F Kennedy turned on to Elm Street and started to cruise down the street. Two shots from a building went into John Kennedy’s neck and spine causing internal and external damage. After the chaos finally settled down Kennedy was rushed by ambulance to Parkland Memorial Hospital where Kennedy would later die that day. About a hour before John F. Kennedy’s death Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the assassination of the president of the United States. Yet on the same day an innocent stranger from the crowd pulled out a revolver and killed Lee Harvey Oswald while being transferred between two different prisons. The picture I chose to go with it also revolves around the Civil Rights movement and is title “I am a man”. This picture shows a large group of African American man holding signs saying “I am a man”. Both JFK’s Speech and the picture “I am a man” utilize the appeals to convince readers of a specific side. For JFK’s Speech he seems to use all three approached to convince us that discrimination is just as cruel and vile as slavery. As for the photo “I am a man” it uses the approach of only pathos to communicate the point.
