Many people do no believe in the resurrection of Jesus because most of the evidence depends on the Bible. I; however, do believe in the resurrection because of three main reasons. The first reason in that I don't believe that it would be possible for so many people to believe in a lie for hundreds of years. The second reason I believe in the resurrection is because many people claim that their was a mass hallucination, but it is highly unlikely for that many people to have the same hallucination at the same time. Finally, my last reason is that if the apostles had faked it, I highly doubt that they would be willing to die for a lie. In conclusion, I believe in the resurrection because it would be hard for so many people to believe in a lie and all the arguments against it don't make sense.
My first reason for believing in the resurrection is that it would be extremely hard for 2.2 billion people to believe in a lie. This is highly unlikely because if Jesus was a made up fictional person, then why would 31

percent of the people on Earth still believe in a lie after hundreds of years? Jesus defiantly existed because of all the historical evidence found. Some of this evidence includes the fact that the genealogy of Jesus makes sense as stated in Matthew 1: 2-6 “Abraham became the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers. Judah became the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar. Perez became the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram, Ram the father of Amminadab. Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse, Jesse the father of David the king.” The second reason I believe in the resurrection of Jesus is because the theories against it are so unlikely. It seems far fetched that so many people would have the same hallucination at the same time. There are also some other theories that Jesus didn't actually die on the cross. This is very unlikely because when Mary took him down from the cross she would have noticed him breathing. Also, a soldier ran a spear through his side with would have killed him if he wasn't already dead. Another theory is that there was someone impersonating Jesus. This is not true because the disciples were doubtful that it was really Jesus and it would be almost impossible to convince them that he was Jesus unless it was really Him. There are many other theories of how the apostles and Jesus faked everything, but each is even more absurd than the next. In addition to my other two reasons for believing in the resurrection, my film reason is that if the apostles faked everything, I highly doubt that they would die in painful ways for a lie.
Also, if the apostles made Jesus up then they wouldn't portray themselves as messing up so often or not being faithful as in Matthew 26: 25 “He said to them, "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.” Also, Judas would’ve killed himself because of a made up person. Another thing that they couldn't have made up was the predictions Jesus made that would come true after they died. One such prediction in in Matthew 24: 11 ,“Many false prophets will arise and deceive many”. In addition to these arguments, there are people other than the apostles who claim to have seen Jesus and many more who have been affected by his miracles such as the blind, deaf, mute, crippled, and other people with
defects. In conclusion, I believe in the resurrection because it would be hard for so many people to believe in a lie and all the arguments against it don't make sense. There are so many people in this world who believe in the resurrection making it extremely difficult lie.Trying to convince everyone that the resurrection never existing is so crazy because of all the evidence. The christian religion is very solid and sturdy. Absurd theories against the resurrection such as Jesus fainting instead of dying is so unlikely that it solidifies many peoples faith. The only way that the christian religion has stuck around for so long is because it is true. Sometimes we just need faith to understand everything.
This fragment is taken from THE NEW TESTAMENT (King James version). More importantly, the fragment appears in THE GOSPAL ACCORDING TO ST. MATTHEW, which is the first gospel out of four. While there is no speaking character in the fragment, it is possible to witness several characters in it. First, there are the wise men who came to visit and see baby Jesus. Second, when they entered the house, they saw Jesus with “Mary, his mother.” In this fragment, one can notice the significance of the wise men (Magi). Seeing that, the wise men function as evidence to display Jesus’s godliness and his relation to God, by seeing him they “fell down, and worshiped him.” Due to God’s intervention in the wise men’s dreams, they have changed their actions, understanding
On August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of the most notable speeches in American history, at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. King started off his famous “I Have a Dream” speech by stating the impact it would have on America’s civil rights movement: “I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation” (King 1). With knowledge of rhetoric and persuasion, King had a substantial impact on the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr.’s use of ethos, pathos, and logos appeals enable King to persuade the audience to achieve equality.
In the previous two posts, we have gone over the importance of the apostles ' martyrdom for the resurrection argument, as well as a summary of Sean McDowell 's findings concerning their martyrdom. Now the question arises, is this evidence enough? The short answer is, yes. All the resurrection argument requires is that some apostles who claimed to have experiences of the resurrected Jesus were martyred for their faith. The idea is that if the apostles had invented the story of the resurrection they wouldn 't be willing to die for it. If they were martyred then they truly believed that they had experienced encounters of the resurrected Jesus, adding credence to the resurrection argument and disproving the possibility that
Why would anybody have reason to believe that he is still alive? People have a good reason to believe that he is still alive. One reason is that the facts that point to him being alive largely outnumber those which insist he is dead.
I find Lanes understanding of the disciples experience of the resurrection very helpful. There is no way to come up with your opinion fully without hearing all possible stories. When you hear many different stories, opinions, and facts it gives you more knowledge and insight about the subject where you can draw your own conclusion from that. Listening to these different ideas and opinions doesn’t mean you have to necessarily agree with it, the choice is left up to you to decipher truth from fabrication, lies, embellishment, persuasion stories, etc. Which is extremely relevant and difficult in this situation.
Three weeks ago, Trump’s title elevated from GOP candidate to president-elect. Following this revelation, protests erupted and injured countless civilians and law enforcers. Even high schoolers, trapped in the wrong place at the wrong time, have been tear gassed and endangered through the protests. Yet, these protests determine nothing: on January 20th, Donald Trump will still become president. While hatred continues to simmer below the surface, protesters slowly realize that their street performances cannot ensure a better future, only a violent present. As they become discredited about the state of their country, the democrat’s anger morphs into anxiety. With a president-elect, who, in the past three weeks, has altered his platform and changed
The United States of America is known as the nation of freedom, a place to make dreams come true, and where equal rights are followed. However, our education in history shows a different perspective. The citizens have had a complicated time convincing the mind of Congress on modifying the rights of the people. Before, women could not vote to choose the future of America, yet after many marches, the women who rose up to speak with great fervor accomplished their goal of making it possible for women to vote. The Presidential Election is a time for people to vote for the leader of the country. As I turn 18 yrs old, I have the opportunity to vote for this country’s future. What led me to the desire of voting was hearing Donald Trump’s negative
From the women we learn that Jesus rose on the first day of the week. From the other disciples, we learn that Jesus rose on the third day. If the resurrection of Jesus was nothing but a hoax or urban legend, there would not be an identifiable starting point. This is not the case for the resurrection. We know the location he was buried and the time span in which it happened.
One of the most perplexing events in the ministry of Jesus Christ is His resurrection from the dead. Many skeptics look at it as made up stories or hallucinations, or mass hysteria, yet the biblical accounts and other evidences point to another conclusion. This research paper will explore three pieces of evidence that the resurrection story is factual and can be accepted as a historical event.
Pope Francis has declared a year of Mercy that will begin on December 8, 2105, and it will end on November 20, 2016. Perhaps one of the most incredible examples of mercy was displayed by one of Pope Francis’ predecessors, Saint John Paul II. On May 13, 1981, then Pope John Paul II was riding in the popemobile, when a Turkish man by the name of Mehmet Ali Agca, came up to the vehicle and attempted to assassinate the Pope. The attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II had failed. Rather than holding a grudge against Mehmet Ali Agca, Pope John Paul II did one of the most incredible things I have ever heard of- he forgave Mehmet Ali Agca. This act of Mercy should serve as an example of how we should forgive someone.
The perfect crusader to Robert the Monk in Historia Iherosolimitana follows a very simple yet strict set of standards. They must follow the with the usual criteria of a good soldier strong, both physically and mentally, and brave but they also must have a strong spiritual aspect to them. Robert gives several names of men who could fall under these examples, Duke Godfrey, Fulcher of Chartres, and Bohemond.
"1 Corinthians 15:12 But If It Is Preached That Christ Has Been Raised from the Dead, How Can Some of You Say That There Is No Resurrection of the Dead?" 1 Corinthians 15:12 But If It Is Preached That Christ Has Been Raised from the Dead, How Can Some of You Say That There Is No Resurrection of the Dead? These three tests when applied to the Bible show it as the most historically reliable text known to man, thus the events found upon the pages of the Bible are actual historically proven events. In light of these facts, there are still many theories other than that of the Biblical account. Three of them include the "Visionary" theory, the theft theory, and the wrong tomb theory. The first theory is that of Strauss, that the appearances of Jesus after His death on the cross were "visions generated by the imaginations of the disciples (Ramsey 48)." This may be the easiest of all the theories to discredit. First of all, it does not take into account the inability of the disciples to grasp this idea that Christ was alive and to recognize Him for who He was (Ramsey 48).
Theologians have been stuck on this topic as well. Without the Resurrection, the Christian’s faith
What are parables of Jesus Christ? The word parable in general may mean the placing of two or more artifacts together to make a comparison or explain an ideology. This same concept could be related to the parables of Jesus Christ the son of God. Some people may choose to define these in various meanings depending on their own understanding. However, in my opinion, a parable is basically an analogy consisting of human circumstances that is accompanied with a spiritual or biblical lesson. Altogether, there are thirty-two parables; which could be found in the books of Mathew, Mark and Luke. Out of all these parables, eighteen of them are found in Luke and ten in Mathew. The eighteen parables found in Luke include, the Lost Coin, the Lost Son, the Unrighteous Steward, the Rich Man and Lazarus, the Unprofitable Servants, the Unrighteous Judge, the Pharisee and Publican, the Pounds, the Two Debtors, the Good Samaritan, the Friend at Midnight, the Rich Fool, the Watchful Servants, the Barren Fig Tree, the Chief Seats, the Great Supper, the Rash Builder, and the Rash King. The ten in Mathew include, the Laborers in the Vineyard, the Two Sons, the Marriage of the King's Son, the Ten Virgins, the Talents, the Tares, the Hidden Treasure, the Pearl of Great Price, the Draw Net, and the Unmerciful Servant. Again, the parables of Jesus Christ could be compared to a class of students with a teacher in the front. Basically Jesus Christ was the teacher and the whole world would be considered as the students. Out of all the parables of Jesus Christ, the main ones I will be talking about will be the parable of the good samaritan, and the parable of the sower.
