This affidavit explains in detail why the relocation of my wife, Jesika P. Vasquez Ramos, would cause extreme hardship upon myself and my family. In addition, my children will suffer extreme emotional distress from being away from their mother. Something I don’t want my children to face. My wife holds our family together, if she would be relocated it would tear my marriage apart and potentially lead to me and my children to relocate with her. BACKGROUND I was born in the Dominican Republic on April 5th, 1971. I am 46 years of age and have been a citizen of the United States since June 3, 2016. I am the oldest child of Mireya Cardenas de Burgos and Jose Hugo Burgos. I have two younger siblings in my beloved sister, Bilian Burgos, my beloved …show more content…
Vasquez Ramos, in March of 2004. We started our relationship soon thereafter and have been together ever since. In 2005, me and Jesika began to live together in a room we both rented. It was small and cramped but we made it our own, because we didn’t have anything else but each other. Our greatest goal in life is to raise our sons in the US with the right values. Maybe then my sons can have opportunities that me and my wife never had. On May 18, 2005, me and my wife welcomed our first child, Miguel A. Burgos. Three years later, on March 20, 2008, we welcomed our second son, Reynaldo Burgos. Together with my wife and kids we have made a family that supports and respects one another. I couldn’t be happier to come home to my family even after I think about all the work that I am doing. I know that my drive and motivation to give my children a better life will be rewarded by both of my sons. Due to my wife’s immigration status, I am the one who must work and maintain my family financially. I currently work at Driver Century Distributors Inc, Monday through Friday. During the weekends, I work at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This is an extraneous work schedule that has been weighing on me very heavily. My wife stays at home and takes care of our house and children. We work together as a team to make sure our kids are cared for and have everything they need to
Through the voice of Palo Alto, a mesquite tree, Elena Zamora O’Shea relates the story of one Spanish-Mexican family’s history, spanning over two hundred years, in South Texas, the area encompassing between the Nueces and the Rio Grande. As the narration of the Garcia’s family history progresses through the different generations, becoming more Mexican-American, or Tejano, peoples and things indigenous gradually grow faint. In her account of South Texas history, Elena devalues the importance and impact of Indians, placing a greater precedence on the Spanish settlers.
Barrera 2 Selena Quintanilla-Perez was an artist in the Tejano music industry that contributed to revolutionizing the style of music in the United States today. The Tejano music genre originated from Texas, but it may be called Tex-Mex because of its Mexican background. Selena absolutely loved her fans, so she went to great lengths to keep her fans happy. (Angelfire 2) Her rise to stardom was also very successful thanks to the support and persistence from her father.
Known as the “Queen of Tejano” and the “Mexican Madonna”, Selena Quintanilla-Perez was the adored Latin singer who sadly did not get to live to see all of the success of her career. One of her most famous quotes is, “We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever but to create something that will (PhilosIblog, 2014).” That is just what Selena did and she made sure that her legacy would live on for years. Selena surely left a her mark in this world with the help of her family, in her short lived 23 years. Selena was an amazing singer, she even made it very far in a genre of music that was dominated by men. Selena Quintanilla-Perez is an influential person because of her loving personality, her music career, her determination to succeed in a genre that was only men, and her success with her music that will never stop playing even if she is not here.

There are, however, some negatives to this act as well. Some voters speculate that instituting this bill will create a large scale “chain migration”. They feel that this act is only a “magnet” for the famil...
Selena Quintanilla, the madonna of Tejano music. Such an empowering person; she was beloved by many. Her tragic death caused an immense outrage and pained many. Yolanda Saldivar, her killer made a huge mistake that day. Nothing can justify her shooting Selena. Her actions were driven by hatred towards the Quintanilla family, greed, and caused an immense outbreak of mourning. Although some may say that her actions were justified because of her being fired, that is not a good enough reason to shoot someone. Here are my explanations as to why Yolanda saldivar did not have a valid reason to end Selena Quintanilla’s life.
In the 1960s, a wave of Cuban immigrants moved into the United States to escape their ruthless dictator, Fidel Castro. Aleida Rodriguez and her siblings were some of those immigrants. In her reflection, she looks at photographs of her childhood while she reflects upon the impact of emigration within her family during the sixties. In the excerpt from “my Mother in Two Photographs, Among Other Things,” author Aleida Rodriguez reveals the cultural rifts caused by relocation.
Immigrants must overcome many barriers to succeed in America. First, migrants frequently must learn a new language. Inability to communicate is a critical barrier for accessing the health care system (Urrutia-Rojas, Marshall, Trevino, Lurie, & Minguia-Bayona, 2006). Second, the processes of work and schooling for themselves and their families can be daunting. Lastly, immigrants use the established social network of longer duration residents for reference and knowledge (Nandi, Galea, Lopez, Nandi, Strongarone, & Ompad, 2008). For purposes of this report, there are three different types of immigrant: legal, undocumented, and refugees or persons seeking asylum. All three types of residents want to succeed and achieve their personal dream.

I don’t remember a lot about our life in Texas, but I do remember we enjoyed it a lot. At the time, my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and my dad worked at an electric company with my uncle Bernardo. The one thing I do remember is that my dad used to jam out to "Celoso" by Grupo Toppaz and that will forever be one of my favorite songs. We stopped migrating once I started school because my dad thought I would not get the best education if I never finished a school year where I first started. Education has always been an important part of my family's life as my parents have always reminded us that they want us to succeed in life, and live a better life than

Since beginning Penn Foster, it has been a challenge to balance out all my reasonability’s as an adult. From working 40 hours a week at my local Walmart, to volunteering a few hours of each day at my local SPCA. My life is full of chaos. I rarely get any “me” time and when I do I am trying to finish up my assignments. Working at Walmart is not really stressful, granted we are a very high volume store but all I really do is stock shelves, and assist customers when needed. The stressful part becomes before I actually make any money. My Walmart schedule is 1 pm till 10 pm. So bright and early, 8 am I am up on my way to the
