In 1990 he moved to Lufkin, Texas where he continued feeding cattle and drilling oil wells. In 1992 he assembled a 36,000 acre drilling block in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana and through 1996, had drilled the five deepest horizontal oil wells in the world. Unfortunately the Louisiana venture was a technical success, but it was a financial failure. None of the five wells ever paid out. In 1993 he married Rita Irene Ambrosia and they still live in Lufkin where he continues to manage his oil and gas properties and invest in cattle futures.
Garrett Augustus Morgan was born on March 4, 1877 in Paris, Kentucky, the seventh of eleven children to Sydney and Elizabeth Morgan. His parents had previously been slaves, freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. In Cleveland, he learned the inner workings of the sewing machine and in opened his own sewing machine store in 1907, where he both sold new machines and repaired old ones. In 1908 Morgan married Mary Anne Hassek with whom he later had three sons.

A few months later Larry enrolled himself into Indiana State University. In his senior season at ISU Larry led the Sycamores to the NCAA Championship game where they played the Michigan State Spartans led by Larry's soon to be rival Earvin 'Magic' Johnson. Unfortunately for Larry and the Sycamores they lost to the Spartans, but Larry left ISU as the 5th highest scorer in NCAA history.

In the movie ‘Undefeated’ Coach Courtney says the quote “Football doesn't build character, football reveals character.”. I believe this quote is true in lots of ways. Football helps build a person’s character. Also, Coach Courtney helped the team build their character. It also lets people see what you have in you.

“Nothing ever comes to one, that is worth having, except as a result of hard work,” Booker T. Washington. In my career as a football player, or what few years I've played high school football, I've learned how hard work can pay off. I have also learned my hard work can shape other people and help others become motivated to work harder. When I spend a couple hours a day tearing apart my muscles to become stronger I ask myself why I'm doing it.I play football because it shows me what work can do for you. I'm no admirable scholar that is taking AP classes and dual enrolled, but I work hard to reach my academic goals. For the next five years of my life school is my job and my number one priority. Sometimes I’ll stay up for hours to try and
I think that coach Boone used some "different" approaches to getting the boy's on his team to come around and look past their ethninc diffrences. They may not have been totally approate but I think with this particular situation they were nessacary. I mean, we're talking about a time when people were still very racist. Their were some of the players that weren't racist at all, which helped the situation a little. Because their were a few guys who didn't want to be racist but were scared of what their buddies thought of them.
The oil industry can not be discussed without mentioning the name John D. Rockefeller. Rockefeller changed the business of oil distribution. In the 19th century Rockefeller began his humble beginnings with a small investment, along with two other partners, in the oil refining business. Eventually Rockefeller upset at the direction of the company bought out his partners. He was now buying into refining and developing kerosene and other petroleum-based products. He later named this company The Standard Oil Company which by 1872 nearly owned all the oil refineries in Cleveland. In 1882, Rockefeller took all his holdings and merged them into the Standard Oil Trust. Through smart business practices and some deception, Rockefeller was able to control three-fourths of the petroleum industry by the 1900’s. After his retirement the company faced problems. (Rockefeller archive) The U.S. government believed that the Standard Oil Trust was a monopoly and ordered its breakup much like the process that is taking place today with Microsoft.
