Protecting Our Differences We are all different; it shouldn't be a reason for discrimination. Jamie Nabozny from a small town in Wisconsin, suffered extreme harassment from his classmates. He was attacked ultimately because of his sexual orientation. The abuse consisted of harsh physical and verbal abuse that even put Jamie in the hospital. “I knew I could never come back to that high school,” (supporting quote) said Jamie after he run away from the place he was physically attacked in an extreme level. Although he did not want to comeback to that school, he had to. The Nabozny family did not have enough money to support his homeschooling and Jamie was forced to come back. (Evidence that Supports your Point/Assertion from Documentary) The bullies told Jamie that if he would tell anyone about what happened when he was attacked then they would kill him. Such thought had repeatedly haunted his mind. That caused an extreme fear in Jamie that limited him from fighting the injustice and being who he is. (Elaboration of Point and Evidence) Jaime later overcame that fear and reported about the incident to his parents. When an opportunity to stand up for himself and file a lawsuit against the school official who consistently told Jamie that he should be expecting such abuse he took it. Jamie won the lawsuit. He also proved that we should not be discriminated for his differences.
