James Patterson born in March 22, 1947, in Newburgh, New York. His parents are Charles and Isabella Patterson. His father, Charles worked as a no-nonsense insurance broker and his mother as teacher and homemaker. Patterson spent most of his younger years cooking and cleaning in his grandmother’s restaurant along with his other extended family. He attended Manhattan college , in New York and received a bachelor’s degree. In 1970, he enrolled in Vanderbilt University’s English literature graduate program, but dropped out a year later.
During the course of his college years he was unsure about what career he wanted to pursue. Patterson took on a part-time job at McLean Hospital as a medical aide. He did not pursue a career in the medical field. During his quiet night shifts, he would read books. One night his fellow employee , Robert Lowell, who loved poetry shared his love of written words with Patterson. Inspired by Lowell’s ideas, he tried it out for himself and found out that he had a talent for written words. For his first job he worked for an advertising agency, as an entry- level junior copywriter. In 1990, he became CEO. Several years later he published his book and successfully earned money. Even tho there is a lot of hate on him on not having himself writing his own books and collaborating with co-writers and taking the credit like a franchise. Patterson will be most known for his “Alex Cross” novel series having 19 novels already publish (and possibly more to come).

Nicholas Sparks was born on December 31, 1965, in Omaha, Nebraska (Jessica Estremera). He was the second of three children born to Patrick Sparks, a college professor, and his wife Jill. Nicholas spent the early part of his childhood moving around with his family as his father finished up his graduate work (Biography Channel website). "Because my father was a student until I was 9 years old and my mother didn't work, we weren't exactly living the high life when I was little. I grew up on powdered milk and ate tons of potatoes, though to be honest, I never noticed how poor we really were until I was old enough to take an honest appraisal of things. Even then, it didn't matter. For the most part, I had a wonderful childhood and wouldn't change a thing.," Nicholas stated in an interview. The University of Notre Dame had offered Sparks a full track scholarship. In 1985, during his freshman year, Sparks was part of a relay team that set a school track record that still stands. But the season did not end on a good note for the future author: An Achilles tendon injury slowed things down for Sparks, and forced him to spend the summer recuperating. In the year 1988 Sparks graduated with honors and also met Catherine Cote, his future wife, who soon later married (Jessica Estremera). The day after he and his bride got married, Sparks heard the story which inspired The Notebook. Cathy’s grandparents were too ill to travel to the ceremony the day before, so the Sparks’ decided they would bring the wedding to them, redressing in tuxedo and gown and taking pictures at Cathy’s grandparents' home. Nicholas observed how Cathy’s grandfather treated his wife with great respect and admiration. The story of their love was recited to Sp...

I’ve noticed quite a bit about one of the author’s writing styles because I have read his other series, Maximum Ride. However, I have not read any of the other author’s books. I’ve noticed that James Patterson uses a short chapter technique that makes readers go through the pages faster, and I’ve been up late before constantly telling myself that I would only read one more. Another noticeable thing is how he always tries to discreetly, but also not so, send a message to the readers. In Maximum Ride, he warned about climate change, in another stand-alone he spoke about suicide, and here he tells them to speak out against injustice, all of which are great things. I’ve also caught on to the fact that there are no lengthy introductions, the
Both Virginia Woolf and Garcia Marquez in their books Orlando and One Hundred Years of Solitude respectively used almost the same styles to enhance and bring out the significance of the story. Virginia Woolf writes of Orlando, the protagonist in her story, a young man of around thirty six years who metamorphosed over a couple of days from a man to a woman. Woolf’s writing depicted very important issues in life that included gender issues and self awareness and knowledge. The book captures the love relationships of the protagonist and with the end of his love affair with the princess from Russia; he became destitute and embarked on writing until when he realized that he was foolishly depicted in one of the poems by Nicholas Green.

Cien Anos de Soledad Style in Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude is closely linked to myth. Marquez chooses magic realism over the literal, thereby placing the novel's emphasis on the surreal. To complement this style, time in One Hundred Years of Solitude is also mythical, simultaneously incorporating circular and linear structure (McMurray 76).
