Isolationism by definition is a form of a policy for remaining neutral from other political affairs of other nations. United States’ foreign policy (1865-1914) was the national policy for dealing with both political and economic relations with other countries. On George Washington’s farewell speech he explain the importance of maintain this national policy and why the United States should avoid alliances. As Washington has once stated in his resolution in his farewell address, he issued the Proclamation of Neutrality, in which it led to the Neutrality Act of 1794.
