The person that takes full responsibility for this horrendous name is the most terrible person in this world, my sister Prure Lesure. I know that it could not be possible because she is younger than me, but listen to this. It all started when I was first born, my parents names me John. I loved that name. As soon as my sister was born it all changed. She didnt know how to say the word John, so she started calling me Ishmeal because that was the only thing that she could say at the time. Soon after Prue started calling me Ishmeal my parents did too! Shortly after they started to call me Ishmeal they decided that that would be my new name. So they went to the cort and changed my name. Ishmeal Lesure. I have had Ishmeal Lesure syndrome ever since that day. …show more content…
So I just started school about a month ago, and I still haven't made any friends. But that is going to chang. I have a feeling that I will make a new friend today. It just so happens that we are getting a new student at my school today. I wonder who it is? It turns out that he is a boy and he is in all of my classes. His name is Yannick Elbine. Wow! His name is not very good, like mine. Maybe we will become good friends. Here he comes I am going to go and introduce myself. "Hi I'm Ishmeal Lesure," I said. "Hi im Yannick Elbine," said Yannick. "I'm a new student here." "Oh," I replied. "Do you want to be my friend." Yannick said, "Sure." I wonder if we will be good friends I thought. Becuase I think that he is really nice and good best friend material. Later that day I asked Yannick if he would like to come to my house after schol to hang out. He said sure. So after school Yannick and I waled to my house, and I intoduced him to the rest of my
Many people think it is vital to surround yourself with a group of friends and to belong, especially when you are in high school. After watching the pilot episode of Freaks and Geeks, it is evident there are several great examples of interpersonal communication, as well as numerous types of friendships. These varying relationship examples will be discussed.
Everybody always has two names: one from their parents and one from their friends. The name that is given by
As a young girl, I was never fond of the name Anna. The name came along with too much baggage.. Unknowingly, people would constantly call me the wrong name, and some people, disregarding my opinion, even created strange nicknames for me. Over the years, I have been called a variety of names including Annie, Ann, Anna, Annabelle, Anne Frank, banana, banana boat, etc. Frankly, there are just too many variations of the name “Anna”. Being an extremely common name, almost everywhere I go, whether it be school or the grocery store, I always seem to find another “Anna”. Although nameberry.com tells me that “Anna” means grace, it actually means unique, intelligent, and affectionate.
Punk, brat, jerk, dunce and many other words are used seemingly everyday as insults, as well as many words considered racist now. It has also always been disrespectful to call a grown up by their first name. In Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”, she says “Every person I knew had a hellish horror of being called out of his name” (109), meaning it can hurt emotionally and/or mentally to be called something that isn't your real name. An example is when Marguerite works for Mrs. Cullinan, she begins to call Marguerite Mary because Margaret was too long of a name (A name that also wasn’t Marguerite’s
Well my Messas name was Nole William, and we were named for him. But when we was freed, we were told to take freed names.
I was strolling down the hallway, trying to figure out where my class would be, when I bumped into a girl. “Oh goodness! I am so sorry. I wasn 't looking," she said and bent down to grab my file and books even before I could. I sighed and replied, “No, it 's fine." I wiped the sweat, which I had accumulated from walking all over the school, off my forehead. She stood up and handed me my books. I realized she was also a freshman by her orange colored uniform. She flipped her hair and said while grinning," Let me introduce myself. I 'm Natasha. I 'm from Canada so I don 't really know much about this town. How about you?" Even though I had never met her before, I could tell she seemed nice so I introduced myself. I had to make a judgment to decide whether to befriend the girl or not. Little did I know this stranger was
My sister was named in a very similar way that I was. My dad named her after the character Zooey in the book Franny and Zooey. This was another JD Salinger book, which makes the definite decision of Zoey’s name obvious. Franny actually became the name of our first family dog as well.
As a little girl, my one wish was to name my daughter Sarah. There was no rhyme or reason to why I felt such a burning desire; there were no tv characters, books, or even people I particularly loved that were named Sarah. In my head, the name was so amazing, I would call every single one of my dolls Sarah, even the guy dolls. However; once I announced my plans to name my future daughter Sarah Kim Possible Berke, my parents broke news to me. In the Jewish culture, it is tradition to name your kids after a family member who has recently passed away.
Nicknames. We all tend to pick them up somewhere along the line. Some of us were given them on purpose, by our parents. For example, my sister was named Alyssa for the sole purpose of having the nickname Allie. For the rest of us, we have somehow found ourselves with nicknames our parents never intended for us to have.
It’s kind of hard to believe that I would change my name to Lucrecia because I didn’t really like my mother’s name until recently. I always thought her name was weird and unusual. I never met anyone else with that name. Now, I would be more than happy to change my name to Lucrecia, after my mother, because she means a great deal to me.
I hate it when they called us, “Jayla 1” or “Jayla 2.” I would get upset because I have the vowel, “A” in my name. I asked my grandmother why we had the same name. She said that we did not have the same, but her son (my uncle) liked the name that my grandmother gave my mother
This is true in my opinion, people can think a certain way based on a certain name. "Names make impressions, just as the way you clothe your (child) or, the you way you groom them makes an impression," insisted University of California emeritus psychology professor Albert Mehrabian, who authored a book on "Beneficial and Harmful Baby Names" (http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/07/10/ hat-in-name-more-than-think-experts-say.html). If someone doesn't like the way your name sounds they can think differently about you whether your a good person or not. I personally love my name.
But till I found out the meaning of my name I started loving it. I didn’t care what people thought because that’s my name it is an honor for me to have that name and i’m very lucky to have it. The meaning to my name is before my mom got pregnant with me she had a brother named Andrew, but everyone called him Andy. Sooner or later he got diagnosed with cancer and it was spreading quickly. My mom and my grandma spended as much time as they could before he he died my mom also told him she would name her child after him.
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
Almost at the age of seven, I made a friend named Dani. I liked being with her because she was always smiling. We played together and giggled a lot. Sometimes, she’d randomly dance, spin around, or run away alone, but I never cared or wondered why. One day, there were these older kids pointing and laughing at her. I skipped up to them. “Dani’s my friend,” I blurted out happily. They laughed even harder.
