Whether if having a digital footprint is good or not, it is always good for students to have a positive digital footprint. A positive digital footprint is using social media to promote a personal "brand in a positive light,"(source 1). A positive digital footprint is also a "footprint" left in the internet world where people can see you as a positive person. In order to create a positive digital footprint, students must show online creativity and work, display passions, and always show respect in online instructions.
First off, students must show and explain their online creativity and work. For example, Jalager states ,"if a student wants to get a job in the growing field of digital media or design, then an online resume that showcases their skills and abilities to use different tools could be what gets them noticed," (source 1). An app that students can use to showcase their resume is LinkedIn, which is the "worlds largest professional network site,"(source 1). LinkedIn gives students a chance to experience what the future may be for themselves. Also, using apps like YouTube, Flickr, or Podomatic can get students noticed by job owners.

One fantastic way is blogging. "Blogging is an excellent way to showcase your interests and skills online."(source 1). Blogging also improves students ability to communicate with one another. Another reason why blogging is great is because it makes students aware on what is going on around them. For example, "people use the word "retard" in really insensitive ways. We talked about how it effects other people, how much it hurts, and most important, how to STOP this from happening."(source 2). Here, this person realized that there was something wrong in their community, so they asked others to help prevent
Technology is a must in today’s digital world. People communicate and interact with friends, family, and colleagues through technology. Community colleges and universities offer online learning. Schools incorporate
Whether being said or being written, there is always a purpose behind the way words are utilized. Words, oftentimes, educate, inform, or even deceive the minds of individuals, but the true power they derive from has brought about the contribution of others resulting in effective outcomes. Although words hold many different purposes, its key motive is evident when used to sway an individual’s position in public controversial matters. The influence that writing and speech can induce, based on the use of words through diction, tone, and pathos, is what creates change in individual’s perspectives on social views.
Often of times, many of us speak without giving thought to how our words and the manner in which we speak will affect ourselves or another person. Regardless of how insignificant and harmless a few words and the tone we emphasize may seem, both hold power. In a moment, they have the power to either build up and give life or tear down and give death. In a moment, they have the power to shape and characterize the behaviors and values of both societies and individuals alike. In a single moment, they have the power to span beyond the individual who spoke it and cause, whether good or bad, repercussions that will affect a multitude of generations ahead.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is a Japanese animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The film is one of the first Studio Ghibli films to be created and it is actually said to be the movie that started Ghibli 's career (Mirasol). It was originally released in 1984 but the uncut English Version did not appear until 2005 with the help of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment who then took over the English dubbed versions of Ghibli 's films. This film was created using traditional animation, hand

Many people think that you only have a digital footprint if you are big on social media websites and the internet. That is what I thought before, but now I realize that no matter what, a person will have some kind of digital footprint. There is information out there on everyone, even the people who have never used the internet before. “Your digital footprint is everything on the internet that is about you” (Digital). Everyone has basic information such as: full name, age, hometown, current hometown, and gender. When I went and typed my name into the Google search bar a few weeks ago, I noticed that my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter automatically popped up. Then I went and clicked on images, and there were many images that were off of those sites that I had posted. This led me to figuring out that my digital footprint is expected to show the social media websites that I get on, because when I get onto the internet those are usually the only sites that I visit regularly.
There are many advantages to online learning, it affects the way people can learn. According to “Effects of Technology on Classrooms and Students”, “students have a greater willingness to write or work on computational skills”. “They say student like the immediate results of having online learning.” Another advantage is that students can learn at their own pace. With learning at their own pace they will be able to actually know the information well. If, they are in a regular classroom setting they may no...
Social media throughout the world is used to interact within groups or individually to share and produce as well as exchange ideas over the internet. Throughout the world of social media maintaining a positive digital footprint is very important. A positive media page enables you to express yourself and your interests, stay connected to family and friends and is very useful to the future for employment. On the downside social media can have a negative impact on people such as cyber- bullying, inappropriate images that can affect your career and addiction. From the influence of social media personal training is career I would like to pursue in.
Exposing students to the power of social media in the classroom is an important part of preparing them to be active and positive digital citizens in a 21st century world. In the last two years, my own students have rapidly been drawn to Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and many other social networking platforms. They upload, share, and connect with others often without any regard to how their digital footprints may reflect them as individuals. Having continuous conversations with students about the choices that they make can lead to positive results. Students don't realize how powerful social media platforms can be in terms of networking, researching, and engaging in academic conversations. It makes me laugh every time I hear them whisper about my colleague Heather's or my Twitter feed. First of all kids, I can hear you. Second of all, yes, social media can be an amazing way to give and exchanged knowledge.
Computer classrooms provide learning games for the students where their minds are being stimulated by simulations. This provides a visual and a fun way for students to learn and gain knowledge in a new context. Online learning can provide help with learning foreign languages in school. In the article “12 Good and Bad Parts of Online Education” by Mark Thoma which illustrates “International students often have trouble following lectures due to language problems. But with video lectures, they can watch the lectures repeatedly until they understand” (Thoma, paragraph 12). The students are able to listen and read from a technological device. Technology also enables students to access applications where they can learn a new culture and explore the background and history of the language. Google Cultural institute is a website that offers the collection and exhibit from museums and archives all around the world. This allows people to explore the cultures and languages to the dates that were first recorded. Students can stay informed on current events through the use of the internet. Social media for example Facebook and news websites allow for the users to stay informed of current events happening and how it is impacting the people. When students want to learn, they can research any information on the internet where new articles are constantly uploaded. Google Scholar is a website that allows people to access articles that are published by universities, academic sources, and preprint depositories. This ensures everyone is learning from multiple sources with the same evidence. Online education leads to higher student achievement because students are able to search for educational articles at any time of the
Social Media has become a very essential tool in the society; in addition, it has a huge impact on communication and learning process. Social media is defined as websites and applications used for social networking. “As of September 2013, seventy-one percent of online adult use Facebook, eighteen percent use Twitter and seventeen percent use Instagram, twenty-two percent use PInterest, and another twenty-two percent use LinkedIn. (PewReasearch, 2013). In addition, "Between February 2005 and August 2006, the use of social networking sites among young adult internet user ages eighteen and twenty-nine jumped from nine percent to forty-nine percent. The usage of social media had grown drastically.” On social media sites like these, users may develop biographical profiles, communicate with friends and strangers, do research, and share thoughts, photos, music, links, and more” (Socialnetworking.procon,2012). Social media has impacted everyone in several different ways. In this present time, majority of college student use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Social media has a bold impact college student's grades, social interactions, and the teaching and learning process.
In total the Internet has not only increased the amount of learning possibilities in the classroom but it has created infinite amounts of learning opportunities for students and teachers.
The traditional education environment is starting to implement new ways to teach students with the rapid development of technology. One strategy is the use of the internet to communicate, listen, and share ideas among students and professors alike; specifically the use of the internet realm in wikis, blogs, and podcasts. Blogs are either a website in itself or a part of a website where something like an interactive journal is being used; a person can write about anything they wish, link or show images, and decide whether other people can comment on the blog entry. Wikis are websites or webpages dedicated to providing information about a topic and can be edited by either the members of that site. Podcasts are digital files in the form of audio, video, or both that can be downloaded online onto computers, MP3 players, certain phones, and many more devices. Wikis, blogs, and podcasts could positively alter the educational format of lectures for students.
Perhaps one of the most impressive things that the Internet has done to improve education is videoconference teaching. Not only can this connect the teacher to a class thousands of miles away; it can also connect a class with other groups or events such as a city counsel meeting. Different classes can interact and discuss topics, or perhaps sit in on a discussion of experts. Some sites such as Global Nomads Group [http://www.gng.org/] offer assistants to educators when it comes to videoconferences.
Students nowadays, are so focus on technology and how they can put their hands in technology. As a future teacher I believe that, the best way to capture my student’s attention is by providing them with tools that can motivate them to learn. With the use of technology, I may approach teaching differently by encouraging my students to use on-line resources. Using on-line resources, would be beneficial for the students, because they would be able to explore many on-line resources. The students would be encouraged to use the on-line materials, I as a teacher would encourage them to use. Such as Internet Workshops and WeQuests. As a future teacher I would want to use Internet workshops and WebQuests, because I would want to increase my student’s motivation to
