Due to the dependability of metal braces in all type of orthodontic treatment, traditional metal braces are most commonly used. However, there may be hope of developing braces that are coated in a different material, such as plastic, that may not alter the change in microbiota as much, therefore requiring further testing to determine the best and most accurate results. The goal of the study is to not only find a potential factor in the development of CD, but to also see if there is a possibility that braces affect the microbiota enough to cause the formation of a disease. Braces date back to even ancient times, they are not a modern day concept. Archaeologists have found mummies with metal bands hugging certain teeth, which were around 400-500 BC. The first documented ligature wire was found in a Roman tomb in Egypt. A look at the history of false teeth shows a pain-staking and quirky evolution:
Pivot Joint This type of joint is also known as a rotary joint and allows only one type of movement, rotational movement which occurs when bone rotates on or around another bone, an example of this type of joint includes the joint of the first and second vertebrae of the neck that allows the head to move back and forth, the joint in the wrist which allows the palm to be turned facing upwards and facing downwards, this type of joint is incredibly important because it allows the bones to move freely while rotating, without this type of joint we wouldn’t be able move our head or our hands and wrists. The bones in a pivot joint are connected by ligaments to allow flexible side to side movement. Most people believe an orthodontist and a dentist have two extremely similar jobs all because they both work with the human mouth. This, however, is not entirely true. Analysis of Langston Hughes’ poem “Theme for English B” Mr. Langston Hughes poem is a struggle to define identity. Mr. Hughes did not want to reject or discount White culture; on the contrary, he wanted to learn from it.
