In the book “Into The Wild” by Jon Krakauer is a story based on adventure. In April 1992, Chris McCandless, also known as Alex was a young man from a well to do family. chris just like any other person was seeking freedom, but in his case he was seeking freedom without the presence of his parents, who felt the need to constantly tell him how to live his life. Chris took a major step in his life when he decided to hitchhike to Alaska and walked into the wilderness alone. ;leaving american society and family behind, he hoped it would be the solution to all his problems. Chris believed he could start a new life for himself without anyone knowing about his whereabouts, all he carried was a pound of rice and books everything else was burned. Throughout the story chris uses harsh words to describe his parents, which reflects the state of their relationship. When chris decided to start a new life for himself in the wilderness and away from his family he says “ i’m going to completely knock them out of my life. I'm going to divorce them as my parents once and for all and never speak to either of those idiots as long as i live…” chris’s usage of words shows the amount of anger he has towards his parents. He was determined that his life would be better off without them. Another reason why chris was so focused on disappearing from society was because he felt like he had no control over his life, it was as if every choice was first to be approved by his parents.
