Interviewee’s Context The interviewee is a Female, aged 25 years and is unmarried. She is born and raised in Sydney, Australia with her two sisters and parents with upper- socioeconomic status. She is Lebanese, Christian. She is bilingual and speaks both Arabic and English. Her Primary school education was through the public school system. By the time she reached secondary school, her education was through a private school system. She has a Bachelor of Architecture. Her father is a Pharmacist, and her mother is a Psychologist. They both have their clinics. She has thoroughly enjoyed her schooling years, particularly Primary. The interviewee’s family background had played a significant part in her educational journey. Educator’s should not make assumptions or believe that all students are the same. Every child has a different cultural, social, academic level and political background, and thus, this influences their willingness or ability to learn. • The interviewee had numerous positive encounters with educators who were engaging, nurturing and supportive. It is unlikely a teacher who can give this kind of positive learning encounters holds the philosophy of their role being the distributor of knowledge to the pupils. This type of educating is regularly unengaging. The Interviewee's educator's aptitudes to treat their pupil's needs and wants independently did not go unnoticed and made the classroom environment warm, fun and welcoming. • The interviewee feels that educators ought to perceive pupils as having diverse strengths and weaknesses. The teacher had an image of her as an incredible artist and made it visible to her, which helped her to continue what she was passionate about. Connecting this to Giamminuti, (cited in Gobby & Walker. p.102) if we hold an image of children as extraordinary thinkers and learners, then we are required to make this visible to others. Subsequently, seeing our families struggle through dire financial situations, motivated us to get an education. We understand how difficult it must have been for our them to venture to a new land and face language barriers that prevented them from working in a well-paying career. My interviewee and I understand that we hold systemic privilege by being citizens of the United States and fluent English speakers, a feature our families did not have. Cultural differences pose several barriers for students and may impair their opportunity to learn. These barriers are created by differences in language expression, communication style, preferred learning style, gender-role customs and behaviors, and limited parental involvement due to these cultural or socioeconomic barriers (Ralabate, & Klotz, 2007).
An outstanding educator possesses unique qualities that set him or her apart from others in the field. Ask any student about a favorite teacher and listen intently as he or she describes that person with a smile. Ask a parent of a child who will enter first grade in the fall about the teacher choice for their child. The parent would describe the outstanding educator in their desire for that special teacher. The qualities of an outstanding educator are easily recognized by those whose lives they touch, shape, and change on a daily basis. While growing up and observing my teachers at school, I have learned that it isn’t always an easy job. Teachers do everything they can to teach their students’ academic, social and other formative skills. Plenty of my teachers have to deal with complications, most of them being minor, but it isn’t always an easy job helping children, teens and young adults. As a student myself, I know they can be stubborn, unwilling to learn, aggressive, and irresponsible. Sometimes, they simply don’t care. However, that is a teacher's purpose: to help and shape their students to become better learners, so that they have a clearer understanding regarding a variety of subject matters. Someday, I actually want to become an elementary art teacher, which is why I researched this career. I chose to gather more information of what skills it takes to be a teacher and what you need to do to successfully fulfill this career.
It is an educator’s job to embrace and acknowledge the rich diversity all the children collectively bring to the classroom, while understanding that the children do not need to be treated the same because they are not the same as each other, but be respected and accepted for their differences. Diversity among students including differences in culture, language and socioeconomic stance is not a new trend. The difference, however, is that today, the school system realizes that all students, including those who differ in some way from the "average" student, or those “at-risk” must be provided with an equal, opportune education (Morris, 1991).

There are numerous stereotypes existing which need to be addressed in order for the same schooling experience, achievement and curriculum are experienced by each individual student regardless of their ‘Race’, Gender or Social Class. The media is a huge contributing factor in what people perceive to be the norm. Therefore, a conscious effort should be made by parents to protect their children from the huge influence that the media may have on their children at such a young age. From this essay I hope that is has been made evident that education is infused with the complexities of cultural contexts where issues such as race, gender and social class are important actors in the educational possibilities of people but also that there is a lot of room for improvement so that children can all enjoy their schooling experiences together as a whole.
Great teaching requires sacrifice and consistently puts the development of the child first Esquith, after teaching for over 30 years and writing several award winning books, exemplifies this child centered philosophy of teaching. His purpose is to share his dedicated and selfless approach to teaching with teachers, in the hope that they too, will be inspired ‘to teach like their hair is on fire.’ He believes that commitment to each individual student is essential. As a role model, he stresses the importance of being dependable and providing an atmosphere that is safe and that promotes the love of learning. He focusses on values and teaching his students to respect themselves and others, to be kind and to always work hard (Esquith, 2007). With Esquith’s simple motto of, “be nice, work hard and there are no shortcuts, in the classroom” (Esquith,2007), it is easy to see why his students are so happy and successful.

The concepts included in providing a more diverse, multicultural education are requiring teachers to review their own issues and prejudices while expanding their knowledge of the many cultures that make up the classroom. Along these two weeks we have been prompt to make a recall to our own way of learning and why we became a teacher: Was it because coincidence, due to life circumstances, maybe because family tradition, was it a conscious decision or because someone influenced us? Whatever the answer is, we have to face reality and be conscious that being a teacher does not only means to teach a lesson and asses students learning. It requires playing the different roles a teacher must perform whenever is needed and required by our learners, identify our pupils needs and preferences, respecting their integrity and individuality but influencing and motivating them to improve themselves and become independent.
We are told the children of today are the future, and we should put more value on education, but some children are demotivated and some are motivated in our education system. Some popular assumptions on why some students succeed are they are intelligent hard-working students. The popular assumptions why some students do not succeed are they are at risk by a culture of inherent violent. All students should have the same resources, and the same treatments.
I firmly believe teachers shouldn`t forget that all students no matter of their colour,race or gender have equal ability to study.Different students have different learning systems.Some can learn things easily while others need to spend more time over a given task.
Parents are–or should be–the teachers of their children in many areas, a natural relationship of handing down what they have learned to their offspring. But there is something special about the profession of teaching where an individual chooses to make an impact on students ,they hardly know on Day 1 of class and yet they have a goal of sending those young faces on their way to a well-rounded education in the 180 or so days they will have them in his or her care.
