1. I have always been physically present in class. Meaning, that I have never missed a class and make sure to arrive to class early prepared and ready to learn.
2. I have on average been intellectually present in class the entire time. By this I mean that I write down all my thoughts and answers carefully during the quote exercise, I take notes during class on my computer, I interact with my peers in respective dialog, and I am involved with classroom discussion. Also, I make sure to come to class prepared with a knowledge of what to expect because I read the assigned readings prior to class.
3. As a member of this class, I have been a constant contributing member to help foster a better learning community. I do this by taking a leadership role in group assignments, providing relatable experiences to class discussion, and helping to embody what others say and relate them to my own thoughts and opinions. Also, I on most occasions try to raise my hand during each individual discussion so that I can be apart and contributing member of this open dialog session.
4. With my double and a half time accommodation, I make sure to always complete my online discussions in according to this. I actively listen to what my peers are saying and take time in writing intelligent posts. My answers are answered fully to satisfaction

I come to class everyday prepared and invested in our learning community. I come to class prepared by reading the assigned reading, reviewing the module of the week, have my computer and materials needed to be successful, and making sure I am rested and ready to engage with the class. In this class I have really learned to use a different level of thinking in my papers. Teachers often have complemented my ability to prove a point with the spoken word, but always offer advice when referencing my ability to compel by the written word. My first lesson in Literature was to bring myself down a level. I used to have an opinion, and write it, never citing or backing it up. My teachers taught me to incorporate others opinions into my own, explaining that until there is a credit to my name, no one is concerned about my opinion without someone credible backing it up. I took that knowledge and used it, learning to be an aggressive researcher, never resting until I have exhausted all sources.
When looking at not just this class but all of my classes and looking at how I have been approaching them versus how I should approach them it definitely puts my mind in a different perspective because I am a person that “strives for excellence” and if I am able to “ace” a class then I definitely try and do that but a lot of the time that doesn’t mean sitting there and actually learning the information it means

...ach day in class I participated to my fullest extent answering questions, maintaining eye contact, and staying attentive and alert during class each day. I stayed after class to arrange meetings with all three of my essays and showed up early each time. In which I read over comments made before hand and digested them myself and walked in with an idea on how to make my paper better, answer questions you may have had towards my paper, and had questions on what I could do to make my paper better. I listen to my students. I allow time for their individual impute in what they are learning, and adjust accordingly. I really believe that is why students can be so into the idea of being taught, because they are all encouraged to lead the discussion and projects before them as it relates to the curriculum. I try to learn from my students by listening to their interpretation. I am learning what interest them, and feed off of it in the work that needs to be performed. The single most important thing I took away from the Planning For Instruction course was that I needed to “be real.” I need to be authentic. As an instructor, it is important for me to understand who I am because it defines what kind of instructor I am. This is a very profound fact! I am who I am, and so I have to teach like Kirby. The assignments we get during lectures and outside of class are helpful tools to get the student to be able explain the concept of the course and see how an individual’s behavior is influenced by their surroundings. Understanding discourse communities can help me throughout college because I feel it will make classes easier when it comes to understanding the goals of the course. I want to teach students more than just the material; I want students to be able to apply skills learned in the classroom, to the real world. An important factor in teaching is to teach life skills as well as giving students the tools to survive in the real world. Teachers are like role models; at least we should look at ourselves in that way. Our job is to aid our students in becoming functional individuals in society and our experiences can be used as a guide. Taking an active part in my students learning is essential to me. Posing questions encourages students to think. This gives the students an opportunity to analyze, discuss, synthesize and apply the material in real life.
