Why might I need a root canal?
Root canals are needed when a tooth becomes infected. That means a buildup of bacteria has reached the internal tissue of the tooth. You may notice this infection due to one or more of these common symptoms: severe pain when chewing lingering sensitivity to hot or cold tenderness or swelling near the infected tooth a recurring pimple on the gum near the infected tooth darkening of the tooth

It’s also a long-term problem, meaning it usually won’t go away on its own.
What Is Bruxism?
Stress in your life can affect your health, but it can also affect your dental health. Bruxism is unconsciously grinding or clenching your teeth due to this stress. It often happens while you sleep, but it can occur any time your mind is busy, even while you are at work. Not only does this grinding put unnecessary force on your jaw joint and increase the risk of TMD, but it can also damage your smile. By repeatedly grinding your teeth, you create worn surfaces that can easily lead to sensitivity, decay, and even fractures. Bruxism is a serious condition if not addressed.
Do You Get Headaches And Migraines?
Since your teeth and jaw are connected to your skull, TMD and bruxism can lead to chronic headaches. In particular, grinding your front teeth can aggravate a nerve that triggers migraines and tension headaches. While painkillers are useful to control the discomfort, they are not a permanent

It is when your breathing becomes fragmented and intermittent while you sleep. This happens when the muscles in your throat relax, causing the upper airway to tighten and even collapse. Sleep apnea literally stops you from breathing, which causes you to wake in a mini-panic, gasping for air. Yet you never fully wake up, so you fall back to sleep relatively quickly –– only to continue this cycle of gasping and sleeping over and over again. The noise is so similar to snoring that most people with sleep apnea don’t know they have this particular
Although the most common caries seen are coronal, root surface caries present just as much of a problem. Once root caries are detected, the bacteria have already begun to demineralize the cementum or dentin and create a great deal of damage. There are several different ways that root caries may appear clinically. A variety of different patients are at risk for root surface caries. Different measures can be taken to prevent root surface caries. Methods of treatment differ among dentists, but there are several choices.
Central Sleep Apnea- a more serious (and rare) condition that occurs when the brain fails to transmit signals that tell your breathing muscles to intake air. Central sleep apnea will generally result in the sleeper waking up with a shortness of breath and high heart rate, unlike obstructive sleep apnea, which is often not remembered by the sleeper.
A traumatic swimming incident during my childhood left me visiting many dental chairs where I suffered from an irrational fear of dentists. Every visit started with my fears but ended with my gratitude to these dentists, who had performed complex operations seamlessly. These experiences stemmed an interest in dental biology exploring topics such as root canal treatments; here I realised that a dental career would allow me to both explore human biology further but also actively improve our society’s welfare.
Do you know what you want to do when you graduate from high school? For me that’s an easy question to answer. I want to go to college to become a Dental Hygienist. By becoming a dental hygienist I will accommodate a good amount of pay to support myself and my future family. Becoming a hygienist is most likely the best choice for me because I have always been interested in teeth and one of my main priorities is my oral hygiene. But also, I have been told that I am really good at making people feel more comfortable and helping them relax. Therefore I have come to the conclusion that dental hygiene is the job for me.
Moreover, dentists have to cater to the fears of the public. In today’s society many people have had bad experiences or have heard horror stories about dentists, so they are generally hesitant to get work done on their teeth. In many cases, people are consumed by so much fear at the dentist’s office that the dentist will have to administer an anesthetic and try to calm the patient’s fears.
The gum tissue begins pulling away from the teeth. This creates pockets that allow bacteria to build up, which leads to an infection. As your body fights the harmful bacteria, the bone and tissue holding the teeth in place begin breaking down. The pockets deepen and begin filling with pus. Once you reach this stage, you may need to have surgery to save your teeth. If not treated, the infection begins destroying the bone around the teeth. If the bones, tissue and gums supporting your teeth are destroyed, the teeth may begin to shift, loosen and/or fall out.
Sleeping is an important part of human lives. Without sleep mankind cannot operate at the proper functioning levels required by everyday life. Sleep apnea affects many Americans today, but many do not understand what it is, and how it poses problems to health. Whether it is obstructive or central, sleep apnea is a serious condition that can cause many problems and should be treated.
Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder which causes frequent pauses in the breathing process during the sleep.
Sleep apnea is a very serious disorder because you can easily die from it because you totally stop breathing. The pause in breathing usually last only a few seconds but can happen 30 or more times in an hour. When breathing will resume in usually results in a snore or a choking sound. People with sleep apnea are usually tired more than most throughout the day because when they start to snore or have pauses in their breathing they move out of a deep sleep and into a light sleep. Sleep apnea is very hard for doctors to diagnose because it only happens when you are asleep. The only way to become aware of your sleep apnea is usually by a family member or a spouse who notices you snoring or have pauses when you are asleep. One of the most common types of sleep apnea is called obstructive sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea is when your airway is blocked during sleep resulting in pauses of breath. This is most common in people who are overweight but doesn 't have to be. If sleep apnea goes untreated the consequences can be very dangerous. It could increase the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, obesity, and diabetes. The four known ways to cure sleep apnea is lifestyle changes, mouthpieces, breathing devices, and
A root canal is a treatment to relieve the patient from the pain of an infection in a tooth. According to (Jamshid et al) “During dentistry procedure, the dentist's posture is strained (while standing and sitting close to a patient who remains in a sitting or lying position), which induces stress injury on the musculoskeletal system, which occurs in 37.7% of work time.” This means that although it seems like a dentist or hygienists is not straining, staying in these positions for long periods of time can cause serious physical harm to the body over extended periods of time.

Sleep apnea is a health disorder characterized by repeated breathing stops during sleep. Research shows that 1 in every 5 adults is suffering from sleep apnea. In the U.S., about 15 million adults have the disorder. Sleeping apnea is associated with various complications, including high blood pressure, heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, acid influx and adult asthma and car accidents among others. Nevertheless, the disease is treatable using a number of techniques, including behavioral therapy, surgical operations, CPAP, APAP and VPAP among others. Therefore, patients with sleep apnea should seek treatment as soon as possible since the disease is easily manageable if treated early enough.
This may be required in cases when the conventional root canal treatment is unable to save the tooth. It is a minor surgical procedure that involves the removal of the very tip of the tooth after which the gap is sealed. An apicoectomy also enables the endodontist to remove any infection or dead debris at the tip of the root. Once the canal is cleaned up and sealed, the risk of infection is very low. In some cases, the endodontist may use bone grafts or other implant techniques to assist with bone growth, especially in cases where the infection has left a big gap. In most cases, the tooth will be salvaged and normal function is
