Lung Cancer is the number one death caused by cancer worldwide. I choose lung cancer because the main reason you get lung cancer not only affects you but the people around you. For example one of the main reason people get lung cancer is though smoking and tobacco use. The people who are around smokers are also affected by the smoke. Some have gotten lung cancer from second hand smoke. This is a very dangerous disease, but there are ways we can help prevent it.
What is lung cancer? Lung cancer is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung. The many symptoms of lung cancer include coughing often with blood, chest pain, wheezing, and weight loss. These symptoms however often don't appear until

the cancer is advanced. Recurrent lung problems, such as bronchitis or pneumonia. These are all symptoms that happen in the chest. Here are a few that happen elsewhere. Muscle wasting (also known as cachexia), Fatigue, Headaches, bone or joint pain, Neck or facial swelling, and blood clots. Treatment of lung cancer can involve a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy as well as newer experimental methods.
Lung cancer surgery carries risks, including bleeding and infection. Also people often feel short of breath after lung surgery. If a portion of your lung is removed, your remaining lung tissue will expand over time and make it easier to breathe. With chemotherapy is often used after surgery to kill any cancer cells that may remain. It may also be used before surgery to shrink cancers and make them easier to remove. It is also used to relieve pain for the patient. Radiation therapy uses high-powered energy beams from sources such as X-rays and protons to kill cancer cells. It can also be used after surgery to kill any cancer cells that may remain. The procedures that are taken will vary depending on the patient and what stage of cancer they have. Getting your body clean of lung cancer is not an easy or cheap process.
One of the main causes of lung cancer is smoking and use of tobacco. Knowing this I believe we can all say the best prevention of lung cancer would be to stop smoking! The vast majority 85% of cases of lung cancer are due to long-term exposure to tobacco smoke. About 10–15% of cases occur in people who have never smoked. Not only can people who do/did smoke get lung cancer but second hand smoke also causes lung cancer. Eat a diet full of fruits and vegetables. Exercise also helps prevent lung cancer. If you don't exercise regularly,
start out slowly. Do your best to exercise at least 3-5 days of the week. Cancer is very serious. Be careful with what you do. Most cases of lung cancer can be prevented. Make right choices not only will it help you but also the people around you. Lung Cancer is the number one death caused by cancer worldwide. There are treatments for lung cancer but the consequences are serious. Stop smoking, eat clean, and exercise often.
The leading cause of death in America is lung cancer. Lung cancer is ranked top 10 fatal cancers in the United States. There are many types of ways to get lung cancer. There is radon gas it occurs outdoors naturally. Then there is second hand smoke that comes from other people smoking. People are even getting lung cancer from cancer causing agents, this happens from carcinogens. You can also get it from air pollution indoors and outdoors. Also there are gene-mutations that form cancer causing cells. Then there is the one everyone blamed lung cancer is smoking.
Lung Cancer can be defined as an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in either one or both lungs of an organism. These abnormal cells divide and multiply to create unhealthy tissue or tumors inside of the lungs. These tumors interfere with the lungs ability to deliver oxygen to the body.
The world we live in can be wonderful at times, but can also be dangerous and danger isn’t a good place to start at.The word cancer seems terrifying when someone thinks about it and they should be because there is a lot of types of cancer from all over the word.Cancer is the leading causes of death everywhere you go and it happens from different parts of the body. From someone that doesn’t understand cancer it’s very important to know about the aspects in which they come around. They way a cancer forms, symptons that are caused, and the way each cancer type is treated is very important to consider.
Oral cancer can be prevented. Cancer prevention is the action taken to reduce one's risks of getting cancer. Preventing oral cancer can be accomplished in just a few easy steps. Things that increase the chances of getting oral cancer are called a risk factors and things that decrease the chances of getting oral cancer are called cancer protective factors. One may be able to avoid some risk factors, but others cannot be avoided, such as inheriting certain genes that may cause cancer can not be avoided, but changing ones eating habits, not smoking and not chewing any types of tobacco is likely to decrease one's chances of getting oral cancer. There is no way of fully preventing oral cancer, there are only ways that can decrease the chances of developing oral cancer. One way to reduce the risk of developing oral cancer is to brush at least two times a day and floss at least one time a day. Both heavy and regular alcohol...
Diagnosed with lung cancer, now what!? Time to do some research. Lung cancer is the number one cause of deaths in males and females. The causes, diagnosis, and treatment of lung cancer have advanced recently with new technology available to scientists and the medical profession. Lung cancer develops when the cells grow abnormally and tumors form instead of healthy lung tissue. It can take place in one or both lungs, normally the cells that line the air passages. Not all tumors are cancerous, the ones that do not spread are benign tumors. The more tumors that develop in the lungs will cause the lungs to work less efficiently. The metastatic tumors spread to other parts of the body passing through the blood stream or lymphatic system.
According to “Medical News Today” cancer is a disease that is caused by an over growth of anomalous cells on one or more lungs. Cells often go up the air pipes which can cause difficulty to breath. Due to the over production of cells the tissue cells often begin to over produce; which results in tumors. There are two types of tumors: malignant and benign. Malignant tumors are the more dangerous of the two due to its invasive nature; which makes it cancerous. While benign is not invasive in other words non-cancerous. This is why cancer spreads to multiple areas and can be sometimes very difficult to fight. Cancer cells are abnormal not only because of their evasive nature, but also because of its irregular life cycle. Rather than expire like a regular cell, they continuously grow and duplicate which causes the disease to spread. This makes cell abnormal in shape and other qualities; known as a sickle cell. Due to the large growth and reproduction rate of the cells this makes the spreading of the cancer more rapid. Each cancer has specific symptom, for lung cancer the sympto...
Lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in the world. There are three main types of lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and lung carcinoid tumor. Just like any other cancer, lung cancer is dangerous, and a life threatening problem. Many studies and researches have been presented to find a cure, but an exact cure has yet to be found. There are however multiple causes, ways to diagnose, and treatments for lung cancer.
Lung cancer happens to be one of the most common cancer forms, it affects mostly the elderly and in 2012 around 35,400 people died from lung cancer in the UK.
Likewise, lung cancer affects people who have never smoked due to the presence of radon and household pollutants. Radon has contributed to 10% of all lung cancer deaths and is considered second to smoking. There is no way to predict who will get cancer, but inherited genetic risk factors make some people more vulnerable to carcinogenic exposures than others. Lung cancer starts whenever there is an uncontrolled growth of abnormal tissue cells that affect the normal function within the lungs. As these abnormal cells grow they form tumors which can block the oxygen exchange within the body. (Lungcancer.org, 2014).
When people hear the word cancer, they automatically think death. Worldwide cancer is the leading cause of death. Cancer is also the second leading cause of death in the United States. One out of every four deaths in the United States is due to cancer. In the year 2012 1.9 million deaths were caused by lung cancer, 745,000 deaths were caused by liver cancer, 723,000 deaths were caused by stomach cancer, 694,000 deaths were caused by colorectal cancer, 521,000 deaths were caused by breast cancer, and 400,000 deaths were caused by esophageal cancer. These cancers are also the main types of cancers.
There are typically no symptoms in the early stages, but the a person could experience flu-like symptoms. Common confusion of lung cancer are Asthma and Bronchitis . As the disease progresses, symptoms of lung cancer in the chest includes smoker’s cough, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, chest pain, wheezing, and hoarseness. When lung cancer spreads a person can feel symptoms in other places in the body. Lung cancer spread to common places like lungs, brain, bones, liver, lymph nodes, and adrenal glands. The symptoms include bleeding, blood clots, fatigue, headache, and even joint
Cancer is defined as where the abnormal cells are divided without any control and they are able to invade into tissues. At times cancer can be cured right away once it is detected through treatments that the doctor recommends, but at times cancer cannot be cured based on what stage the cancer is at. It is very important that every individual gets a physical check up to see if they are diagnosed or detected with any sort of cancer or disease. There are 100 types of cancers out there, but the type of cancer that I will be focusing on is Lung cancer. One of the controversial issues on a lung cancer is the ...
This represents 4.0% of all male 1.8% of female hospitalisations respectively. The epidemiologic evidence and the corresponding biological understanding of respiratory cancer have supported the conclusion that smoking causes lung cancer. It is well documented that cigarette smoke: · is the major cause of lung cancer (primary carcinoma of the lung). · is a cause of heart disease, chronic lung disease, and oesophageal cancer.
...erage of 13.2 and 14.5 years of life the risks of dying from lung cancer before 85 are 22.1% for men and 11.9% for women, who currently smoke. Lung cancer, heart attacks, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, are the leaders of deaths caused by smoking (boundless, 2014). In addition bronchus, pharynx, esophageal, and trachea cancer are respiratory diseases caused by smoking. Smoking begins a path of destruction from the beginning and continues to destroy the body if the practice continues. The body becomes recessive and cannot recover so when someone becomes overwhelmed with problems and reach for a cigarette, it becomes a trigger for the habit to become repetition. Then it becomes difficult to break and becomes habit forming. The only prevention is to avoid smoking at all cost or pay the price of respiratory cancers, or even worse pay with your life.
INTRODUCTION It's a proven fact. Each year more Americans die from lung cancer and other smoking-related diseases than they die from alcohol, drug abuse, car accidents and homicide, combined. Cigarette smoking is a danger to our life and health. It is the leading known cause of lung cancer.
