Many of us have heard the story of Frankenstein by Mary Shelby at least once. We also have the belief that the Creature and murder of Victor Frankenstein's entire family is a cold blooded killer. However, I’m here to tell you that you are wrong. The Creature that Victor creates is not just a science project lacking the ability to think on its own. He is in fact a hurt soul that had a heart full of love but that love turned to hate through the events that the Creature has to experience. To start, when the Creature first awoke Victor faints out of fear and regret. In scene 9 the creatur states, “My first thoughts were confusion. Who was I? What was I?” This lets us know that he could think and was scared of what was happening. It is also mentioned in scene 5 that Victor fainted of regret and fear after seeing his creation come to life. After seeing his creator collapse to the floor the Creature ran off and would stay wandering for over a year, as stated in scene 6, “it was more than a year.” This experience would leave the Creature lost and afraid. …show more content…

After running away from his creator, the Creature wandered towards the countryside. The Creature searched for companions but doesn’t seem to be able to have a conversation with anyone, as stated in scene 9 “I searched for companionship but everyone I found ran screaming at the sight of me.” H then learned to speak by listening to their conversations and this drove him to wonder why they hated him so until he came across his reflection in a lake. He then used hurtful language to describe himself like in scene 9 “All men hate the ugly and wretched.” This experience left the Creature lonely, alienated, and full of hatred for himself and
