Think of a place that is important to me? Well, let's go on a wild adventure. Let's enter the world of Dragon Ball Z. What is Dragon Ball Z? Simply, it's a tv show or a cartoon. This show is about a human looking alien who crash lands on Earth. The main character...The man-alien hybrid who crash landed, his name is Goku. He is super strong and fast. Goku is innocent. He believes everyone is honest and has good intentions in their heart. The show follows Goku as he travels the world fighting bad guys and also just having a gosh darn good time. This world...This Earth where Goku is. This is where I wanted to be as a child. Looking back there was not a specific place in reality that I can say was important to me. My room? It's not my room that I remember, but the object in the room. The television! Whether its video games or tv shows, I was always somewhere else. In this case I was with a super buff spikey haired hero beating up aliens. I am always in some sort of a fantasy land. Even to this day. The world that these shows create is just one of wonder and amazement. Why would I ever choose this boring mundane life over an extreme boxing match with an alien? …show more content…
But the characters as well. The way Goku thinks and acts is how I wish the world was. No fear or regret, simply having fun and being kind. No ill intentions. Eat, sleep and fight. That was Goku’s way. It was simple and ernest. There was no complications. If a friend was killed by an alien? Don’t worry we’ll wish him back with the “Dragon Balls.” Seven mysticals crystal balls that when all are collected a majestic behemoth of a dragon appears and grants you one wish. So you see Goku did not bat an eye. When times were tough. He knew what he had to
Each person has a place that calls to them, a house, plot of land, town, a place that one can call home. It fundamentally changes a person, becoming a part of who they are. The old summer cabins, the bedroom that was always comfortable, the library that always had a good book ready. The places that inspire a sense of nostalgic happiness, a place where nothing can go wrong.
Imagine your first home. The place where you lived right after you were born. Where you took
For many years I would pass by the house and long to stop and look at it. One day I realized that the house was just that, a house. While it served as a physical reminder of my childhood, the actual memories and experiences I had growing up there were what mattered, and they would stay with me forever.
Everyone is different in their own unique ways. We are characterized by what we wear, what we look like, how we walk, and how we move. We are also characterized by our likes, dislikes, hobbies, and more. In addition to all of this, each one of us is characterized by what culture we are a part of. We represent that culture and its subcultures in unique and interesting ways. Today, I will share with you what subculture I belong to. I belong to a subculture of gaming, and I will talk about how, when, and why I participate in this culture.
Detailed Visual texts process the ability to morph our perception of the human experience into one of understanding. Ang Lee’s film Crouching Dragon Hidden Tiger and Robert Browning’s Porphyria’s Lover illustrates the specific clash of Victorian and Wuxia themes of Gender and Social roles upon distinct individuals by highlighting characters such as Jen, Shu Lien, Porphyria and the Speaker to deliver these ideals. This is rendered by using such expressive techniques including music, camera shots, costuming and textual techniques to successfully shape the ideologies and cultures through visual means. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon portrays a Gender sociotype extensively through the Eastern and Western norms contrasted to illustrate the perception of a high patriarch society with men being free to their whims, whilst women are situated in a prison like environment.
In elementary school, I would escape to the library, face burrowing in picture books about space. Walking home with arms full of checked out books, I would pass by my parents consumed in another argument most likely about marital problems and sit in the corner of my room - door shut - to indulge my self in my own private get away. I did not check out my space books to read but instead to dream, dream about a world waiting to be explored. A world free of the petty arguments of my parents, the teachers with high expectations and the chores that awaited me at home
The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it’s the place I come home to, and wake up every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place that I can go to clear my mind.

Kamikakushi means ‘hidden by God (Kami)’. Therefore, Kamikakushi is used when someone mysteriously disappears or passes away due to an angered god that took the person away. In this resort for super-natural beings, Chihiro and Haku both get something taken away from them and in order for them to get out and be free, they must take back what they lost. In this film, Hayao Miyazaki takes us on a quest to a world of fantasy and adventure.
Another visual media piece that is my favorite is the video game The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. This is my favorite video game because I have always loved the Spyro series and it teaches important lessons in its gameplay. Its graphics are beautiful and I love the scenery and the sense that the player can play as a dragon. I love how the player can actually fly like a dragon and all of the characters are so interesting and diverse.
In conclusion, Japan’s Pop culture, is very amazing. I’ve learned about so many new things, that I didn’t even know existed. This culture was so new to me and I’m so happy I picked
Everyone has a special place that people will never forget. Sometimes it is because there were places that people experienced great joy or comfort. A special place represents peoples’ special memories either good or bad. Memory will following people whole life, and store people’s heart deeper. Good memory will coming all time. My special place and my memory is my grandparent’s house; my grandparent’s house practically is my second home. I would never forget that special place because of things going on my grandparent’s house, which is symbolized by my grandparent’s love.
A place, for me, is somewhere that I am familiar with and I recognize it in some way as my own special geographic location. It is somewhere I am emotionally attached to and it is a place that I wish to remain at. I personally feel that it has taken me years to achieve this particular comprehension about where for certain that place is for me in my life, and to make out why I feel a certain way about being within the walls of my own home. I have now come to realize that my home is where my heart will always truly be, because I believe it is the only place where I will always be loved without
I think we all have a beautiful place in our mind. I have a wonderful place that made me happy a lot of times, years ago. But sometimes I think that I am the only person who likes this place and I'm asking myself if this place will be as beautiful as I thought when I will go back to visit it again. Perhaps I made it beautiful in my mind.
Yes , this place reminds me of the magical kingdom like those of fairy tales. With many princes and princesses, god-mothers and fairies ….with the air imbibed in a happy tune of a beautiful symphony…a wonderland where you’d forget all about the worries of life and be completely a part of it once you step into it.
