Vibration Crystal therapy works on the premise that everything is vibration. Imagine your body as an orchestra, with all the different organs and parts represented by instruments. Ideally, the orchestra should be playing in perfect harmony When illness, stress and emotional difficulties disrupt this harmony, crystals act as a ‘tuning fork’ to bring the different parts of your being back into balance. As Sue and Simon Lilly put it in ‘Crystal Doorways’, ‘Crystals reflect the basic harmonies of matter…using crystals can potentially give access to those energies we require’. Crystal Layouts A crystal therapist uses precise layouts, or positioning of crystals, to balance energy on all levels of our being. Many different layouts are discussed in …show more content…
For example, the ‘Seal of Solomon’ layout uses clear quartz crystals to first release negative energy, then bring in positive energy. A Typical Crystal Healing Session A session looks something like this: You lie down on a massage bed and are led through a relaxing visualization, for example of the ocean. As you relax and let go, the crystal therapist will attune to your energy and sense the state of your energy body. This can be done by using a pendulum to dowse for balance or imbalance, or simply by sensing with the hands. The therapist will then lay particular crystals on and around your body, activating them with a crystal wand. You might experience a range of sensations and emotions. A healing crisis can even occur, when a lot of negative energy is released. If this happens, the therapist will assist you to move through it. Or, you may not be aware of what is happening until later. You may pass into a deep, even sleepy, state of relaxation. As you move through different layouts, the therapist will continue to sense your energy field. After some time you will be guided back into an awareness of your physical body. A good crystal therapist will be able to advise on crystals you can use at home, and how to continue your healing
Ross defines and differentiates between the terms healing and curing. She recognizes the fact that healing and curing are very intertwined and it can be hard to distinguish between the two terms. There are differences between the definitions in scholarly and general settings. She references an ethnographic study of healing versus curing conducted by anthropologists Andrew Strathern and Pamela Stewart in 1999 with native groups in New Guinea. The results of the study looked at how energy used by the different types of tribal healers to either cure or heal a patient. Eastern medicine focuses on how energy interacts with the healing process in connection within the mind. Whereas Western medicine is focused on the mind and the body separately. The practice is considered a holistic approach to finding cures. According to Ross (2013), healing is more a therapeutic process targeting the whole body and specific illness including emotional, mental, and social aspects in the treatment. The act of curing is a pragmatic approach that focuses on removing the problem all together. The life experiences of a person playing into how well certain treatments will heal or cure what is ailing them. These aspects can not be defined with textbook definitions. The interaction that the healing process has with energy is a variable in the success rate. Uncontrolled emotions can have a greater impact on the inside the body than a person can realize. The exploration of energy interaction within the body can be used for greater analysis of health care systems. (21-22). Are Western healthcare facilities purposely “curing” patients just so that they return are few years later? Is Western Medicine built upon a negative feedback loop? The terminolo...
Therapeutic touch was developed by Dolores Krieger and Dora Kunz in the 1970s as a non-invasive nursing intervention (Kelly et al. 2004). Jackson and Keegan (2009, p.614) defined therapeutic touch as “a specific technique of centring intention used while the practitioner moves the hands through a recipient’s energy field for the purpose of assessing and treating energy field imbalance.” The original theory of the technique proposed by nursing theorist Rogers (1970) is that individuals as a unified whole have their own permeable energy fields that extend from the skin surface and flow evenly when they are healthy. The energy field of the ill physical body is disrupted, misaligned, obstructed or “out of tune” (Huff et al. 2006). TT has the potential to re-pattern, reorganize and restore the individual’s imbalanced energy fields through the open system extending from the surface of the body interacting with the environment constantly (Krieger, 1979). The earliest studies of healing touch were carried out in the 1950s and 1960s: biochemist Bernard Grad (1965) collaborated with famous healer Oskar Estebany to demonstrate the significantly accelerated healing effects of therapeutic touch on wounded mice and damaged barley seeds. The central aim of healing therapies is to relax and calm patients in order to activate patients’ natural healing ability, and it does not include any religious activity (Lorenc et al. 2010).
...In this specific style, the therapist tends to have the most success in gaining knowledge of the patients feelings of inadequacy, fear of intimacy, and low self esteem.
Winokuer and Harris (2012) state self-awareness and self-care are professional competencies that counsellors must cultivate and perform regularly. Counsellor’s can use techniques such as grounding, being kind to oneself, and self check-ins daily to prevent burnout or harm to clients. Grounding was a technique I learnt during residency. The therapist can sit on a chair with his/her feet placed flat on the floor. The purpose of grounding was to allow the emotions flow through your body without any blockages. Blockages are spots inside the body where a person may feel a build up of emotions. These blockages may present itself as tension in the body such as a frog in the throat, tightness in the chest, or a knot in the stomach (Stella, 2015). For example, therapists can use sound therapy such as vowel tones and our breath to move the blockages in our body (chakras). The vibrations from the vowels expel the blockages out from our body (Kopel, 2011). According to Kopel (2011) each vowel opens up specific areas in the body. For instance, the vowel U opens up the pelvis, hips, legs, feet, and lower body. O clears the lower trunk, abdomen and groin area. A clears the chest cavity, heart, and the whole body. Finally, E frees the throat, upper chest, and entire head. This exercise demonstrates how using the sound therapy can remove blockages within the body and ground the
Osteoporosis is a condition, which advances with age, resulting in fragile, weak bones due to a decrease in bone mass. Externally osteoporotic bone is shaped like normal bone, however it’s internal appearance differs. Internally the bone becomes porous due to a loss in essential minerals, including phosphate and calcium. The minerals are loss more quickly than they can be replaced and in turn cause the bones to become less dense and weak. The bones become prone to fracture, due to their weakness. Therefore the awareness of the disease tends to occur after a fracture has been sustained. The bones most commonly affected are the ribs, wrist, pelvis and the vertebrae.
Derived from several ancient healing practices, therapeutic touch is based on the theory of human energy fields - every person has an energy field that surrounds the entire body. During therapeutic touch treatment, practitioners use their hands, without actually touching the person, to re-establish a healthy energy flow. Therapeutic touch seeks to restore balance within the body while also stimulating the patient's own healing response. The practice of therapeutic touch is used worldwide in thousands of hospitals, clinics, and private practices. It is an easily learned, successful complement to other healing programs.
Radiation therapy is a complex treatment plan to treat cancer in patients. Its treatment can be used alone or in conjunction with surgery or chemotherapy. Radiation therapy is delivered by a team of individuals who specialize in the treatment of cancer. There are several ways in which the radiation can be delivered to the patient with specialized equipment. Radiation therapy is an exciting field of study that can be beneficial to patients who are affected by cancer.
Many gestalt therapists are against assessments or favor a gestalt version of an assessment (Brownell, 2010). Despite the lack of general assessments for gestalt therapy, therapists focus on four concepts during treatment: phenomenological method, dialogical relationship, field-theoretical strategies, and experimental freedom. Phenomenological method is used to bring awareness to the client. The therapist observes the client’s actions, such as if they choose to roll their eyes. He or she will describe these details out loud and treats each action with equal value. The dialogical relationship is where the therapist is honest and upfront with the client, instead of taking on a persona. The therapist also accepts however the client chooses to portray themselves. Field theoretical strategies enable the therapist to interpret a person’s character as dynamic rather than static. Lastly, experimental freedom is the concept that gestalt therapy is more than just talk. The therapist can experiment and try something new with the client as the therapy persists (RGI, 2013).
Like every profession in the medical field even Physical Therapist need to be relaxed and determined. When a patient comes to a Physical Therapist for intervention they more than likely do not want to be there and think it is a waste of time. With this being said, the patient
Reflexology is the theory that the human body can be healed from disease or imbalance through pressure to specific points on the hands, feet, and ears (http://www.doubleclickd.com/reflexology.html). This alternative form of healing is doubted by many, although there are studies that support its theory.
Reiki is a Japan based healing secret that is rapidly recognized worldwide. In early 1900s, Mikao Usui discovered the surreptitious of reiki while he was isolating himself at Mount Kurama in Japan. Afterwards, the healing art of reiki has been scattered over the world as the reiki practitioners are escalating abruptly. In fact, numerous cultures all over the world believe that there are concealed energy flows through all creatures that are connected to the quality of life ever since ancient times. Reiki utilizes specific technique for rejuvenating and balancing the natural life force energy within the body. Reiki symbols have specific frequency that specialize certain condition to sanction the flow of energy throughout the body. The colour and shape of each symbol signify the frequency and amplitude of the energy. The healing power of reiki can be verified by the existence of first degree of reiki and second degree of reiki as well as enhancing the results of medical therapy.
The therapist will collect demographic information including patient’s history and chief complaint (Bartson, Smith and Corcoran, 2011). The therapist focuses on assessing the client’s emotions and physical sensations following a traumatic event and not the details of the traumatic event (Bartson, 2011). This is what differentiates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) from other therapies (Bartson, 2011). The process of EMDR therapy starts after this initial assessment.

The energy fields of crystals and gemstones are gaining popularity and attention as tools for the twenty-first century. This is a time of shifting human conscience and many forms of change. Using these tools can help you activate and aid this type of transformation with their abilities to amplify and balance the energy fields that surround our bodies. I believe we are more than just our physical bodies and we store information that roams at will each time that we release a thought. I have learned this from working with many types and forms of gemstones and crystals and I hope this little bit of knowledge I have shared with you gives you the motivation to explore the world of the precious stones all around us.
Physical therapy is a fun and exciting healthcare profession that helps people. It is all about helping other people who have problems with their body, muscles, joints and other parts of their body. Patients includes accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy. Physical therapy will perform an evaluation of your problem or difficulty. They evaluate your problem by performing tests and measures to assess the problem. These tests includes muscle strength, joint motion, sensory and neurological, coordination, balance, observation, palpation, flexibility, postural screening, movement analysis, and special tests are designed for a particular problem. Next, they develop a treatment plan and goals and then manage the appropriate treatment to aid in recovery of a problem or dysfunction. Physical therapists are able to treat their patients by using many different treatments depending on the type of injury. Some of the treatments are electrical stimulation, hot and cold packs, infrared and ultrasound to reduce swelling or relieve pain. These treatments are used to help decrease pain and increase movement and function. Therapeutic exercises instructions will help restore strength, movement, balance, or skill as a guide towards full functional recovery. Physical therapy provides "hands on techniques" like massage or joint mobilizations skills to restore joint motion or increase soft tissue flexibility. They will focus on basic skills such as getting out of bed, walking safely with crutches or a walker, moving specific joints and muscles of the body. Physical therapists treatment includes patient education to teach them how to deal with a current problem and how to prevent the problem in the future. Such documentation is used to track the patient's progress, and identify areas requiring more or less attention. They encourage patients to use their own muscles. Their main goal is to improve how an individual functions at work and home.
