The occurrence of inflamed or infected sebaceous glands in the skin; in particular, a condition characterized by red pimples on the face, prevalent chiefly among teenagers known as Acne Vulgaris. Acne can strike you at any given moment. Acne is one of the most common skin disorders. Symptoms range from uninflamed blackheads to pus-filled pimples or large, red, and tender bumps. Treatments range from over-the-counter creams and cleanser, as well as prescription antibiotics depending on your symptoms. Acne is triggered by stress, lack of exfoliating, unhealthy eating and much more.

Blackheads are comedones that are open at the surface of the skin. They are filled with excess oil and dead skin cells. It's not dirt that causes the comedone to turn black. Comedones that stay closed on the surface of the skin are called whiteheads. This happens when oil and skin cells prevent a clogged hair follicle from opening. Papules are comedones that become inflamed, forming small red or pink bumps on the skin. This type of pimple may be sensitive to the touch. Picking or squeezing can make the inflammation worse and may lead to scarring. Pustules are another kind of inflamed pimple. Nodules are large, inflamed bumps that feel firm to the touch. They develop deep within the skin and are often painful. Nodules should be treated by a dermatologist. Over-the-counter treatments may not be powerful enough to clear them up, but prescription drugs can be effective. Cysts are large, pus-filled lesions that look similar to boils. Like nodules, cysts can be painful and should be treated by a dermatologist. People who develop nodules and cysts are usually considered to have a more severe form of acne. There are many different ways to treat your acne. You first need to determine what type of acne you have. For most acne cases, you can either buy an exfoliator or get prescribed medications. If you exfoliate too much, that can lead to acne breakouts and if you do not exfoliate at all that can also lead to acne breakouts. You must always use an SPF product when you go out in the sun, so sun spots do not appear on your face. There are many different prescribed medications you can use to treat your acne.
