There is an issue that people want to make increase minimum wage. They want to raise minimum wage to make it easier to reform the process and ultimately reduce subsidies. For many people who work at full-time jobs for minimum wage, there is no way for them to make ends meet except by taking government subsidies. They argue that, if minimum wage is increased, the minimum wage can help eliminate the need for government welfare. I agree that the government should increase the minimum wage so people can make a livable wage to support themselves financially and would help for single parent families. In a document called A Minimum-Wage Hike Would Help Single-Parent Families, the author interviews many people and one of the people that was interviewed said that she, “in the fast-food industry, can't even afford a place of her own. She's staying with her adult children and can barely afford the life-sustaining medicine she needs.'We work hard,' she told me. 'We just want to be treated fair. We want to help ourselves.' She knows what it's like to go without. 'It's a sad day in America,' she said, when you can feed your kids but you can't eat yourself.” This minimum-wage increase would help this woman, who has many hours of working experience in the fast food industry, support her child and herself simultaneously. Full time workers are having hard time paying for their shelter needs and they would need to take out loans just to survive. A recent study from the University of California, Berkeley concluded that workers in the fast-food industry are relying on safety net programs to the tune of a staggering $7 billion a year. In conclusion, I agree that the government should increase the minimum wage so people can make a livable wage to support themselves financially and would help for single parent families. There are also many problems that raising minimum wage can solve, but there will also be problems that minimum-wage can cause if it is increased. A problem that could made if the government decides to increase minimum-wage is inflation. Inflation is a very big reason why minimum-wage is not enough.
