All through the novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Stevenson's depiction of Hyde as monstrous, deadly and capable makes him such a disdainful character. Everyone in the novel depicts him as monstrous and has a nightmarish appearance. In the novella, the quote ''There is something wrong with his appearance; something displeasing, something downright detestable. I never saw a man so disliked.'' is depicted by Mr. Enfield to Mr. Utterson. The quote from M.r Enfield demonstrates that he's aggravated by Hyde's appearance. He is proposing that Hyde doesn't have a place in this general public. Hyde murders Carew and stomps a young lady making him be lethal.
