In your essay “The Lowest Animal,” you believed that humans are the lowest of all animals because they exhibit negative behaviors unlike that of other animals. Some of the negative behaviors you pointed out were greed, cruelty and pride. Because these behaviors were present in some humans, you felt it was just to group not only those humans into being the lowest animal, but all humans; these include the ones that do not demonstrate greed, cruelty and pride. Additionally, you did not take any positive behaviors associated with humans into account.
Because of a few notable people who exhibit strong negative behaviors such as greed, you discount the entirety of the human population are bearing these traits. However, not everyone has these characteristics. There are many people who donate money to charities such as Doctors without Borders or to the Red Cross or donate their time through volunteer work. Even I have done both of these at one point or another. There are definitely people out there who donate their time or money simply because they expect and want attention and respect in return. However, not everyone

This includes having others gather the food while some partake in more specialized tasks. Additionally, the people who work for others are not necessarily bound to it. If they wish, they can move out and live in solitude if they so desire. Animals are not, however, given this choice. We are the only species to realize that living for yourself and being isolated from others is not only more difficult than what we have now, but is far more dangerous. In the modern day, an extremely small margin of humans today are the ones who actually farm for food. This allows the rest of the population to work on other jobs. If the behavior of stockpiling food was not present in humans, this type of society would never be able to come to
Humans tend to think of themselves as the best of the best and consider other beings to be pathetic in comparison. In Mark Twain’s satirical essay,”The Lowest Animal,” he argues that in fact, humans are the ones that are the lowest animals, not the superior species as they like to think. Twain utilizes concrete examples, irony, and satire to make his argument that humans are greedy and foolish, making them the lowest animals.
In Mark Twain’s essay, “The Damned Human Race,” he uses a sarcastic tone in order to show that humans are the lowest kinds of animals and ar not as socially evolved as they think they are, making his readers want to change. In order to inspire his audience, Twain motivates them by providing specific comparisons between animals and humans. These satiric examples emphasize the deficiencies of the human race and entice them to change for the better.
You are required to pay for everything yourself, such as paying for the seeds to plant, paying for the fertilizer, and paying for the water to help the plants grow. Thats just for plants there are many more responsibilities that come with animals. Mass production is cheaper for the economy “Today’s high crop yields and low costs reflect gains from specialization and trade, as well as scale and scope economies…” this is stated by Steve Sexton in “The Inefficiency of Local Food”. The prices of food would skyrocket if Locavorism was implemented indefinitely everywhere. This could cause an economic depression. Many people believe that eating local food would be a positive for their local economy, however that has been shown differently in a recent research paper by Elaine De Azevedo called “Food Activism: The Locavorism Perspective” “The slogan "local food, local money" espoused by Halweil, which argues that Locavorism generates wealth and local jobs, is another (controversial) economic issue that informs the movement”. Not only would prices go up indefinitely from locavorism but there would also wouldn't be enough food to go
Committing charitable acts is one deed that many people out there ponder. However, getting someone to participate in an act of kindness is at times a struggle. Thats why it is common to use incentives such as a grade boost or even things such as being printed as a donor in the newspaper. Because funding for charities is highly competitive, incentives are used in a moral way to create brand recognition, hook potential donors and retain them in the long term. Since all human beings are motivated to do good and in my view are acting in good faith by taking these incentives as they are usually quite small in comparison to the donation they are making so the result is still a great act of giving even in the case of those who are motivated more by self-interest, one could argue that the incentive helps move the person doing the good deed into an act of selflessness. In both cases the donors feel reward in multiple levels from personal joy to more public notoriety, but in all cases those human emotions and validations do not breach moral code.
Mark Twain's The Damned Human Race. Within his essay The Damned Human Race, author Mark Twain powerfully declares that the human race is both flawed and corrupt, and that people actually should be classified as 'lower animals' rather than the formerly known 'higher animals'. Twain does not hold claim to a Darwinian or creation standpoint, but rather draws conclusions from his own observations in performed experiments. He states that'man is the cruel animal,' and that we can attribute this to his moral character.
Our world has evolved exponentially over the decades, centuries, and eons. We have evolved, not only physically, but in the skills that we have obtained. We have learned how to make fire and tame the elements. Among these advances, we have learned how to farm. Before this advance, we were hunter gatherers, but we needed a more convenient source of food. As hunter-gathers, we were a more successful race in terms of health and happiness.
‘We all should help ourselves first’ might be the best way to describe how we could survive in this world but if we could afford our wants and needs, it would be a sublime act of us to help others. The helps could be happened just by making a trade-off of how much we could spend our money unnecessarily and instead donating that specific amount of money to the charity, which could help save lives of others, is noble act of human notwithstanding to how much is donated or what forms of donations are executed. In some cases, the little money of us could buy some families in Asia a meal that they crave for, pay tuition fee for their children or even afford to purchase prescription medication for their health. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that greed spirit exists in everyone on the entire planet, people always look for returning prizes, regardless of the size of prize, after doing good deeds for others. The prize, however, could be depicted in wide range of pictures; for instance respect from the society, favorable votes or it could just be happiness, which is created for ourselves by knowing that lives a...
In The Lowest Animal, Mark Twain is talking about how humans are not on the top anymore and how he says that we came from the lowest animal. In one of the experiments he had said humans harbors injuries, broods over them, and waits till a chance offers to take revenge. Something that normal animals can’t do,
“Simple things which the other animals easily learn, he is incapable of learning” (Twain). Mark Twain’s essay over “The Dammed Human Race” is full of satire when he describes humans and their behaviors. In his piece, he compares humans and their lack of morals against animals who exhibit stronger morals. Mark provides several examples in the form of tests to back up his theory. In doing so, he denounces the Darwin theory and comes up with what he believes is more suitable, the Descent of Man from the Higher Animals. Mark comes to the conclusion that humans are the least evolved and should remain at the bottom of the species list rather than the top. Although Mark conveys false credibility, speculative generalizations, and a somewhat critical satire, his essay is indeed successful.
It is interesting to note that we are all animals, just a very special type: humans. The human race is always developing and making changes to the world. An English naturalist of the nineteenth century, Charles Darwin, set out a theory of human evolution. Darwin published his work called The Descent of Man, where the origin of man came from a lower form. Despite that Mark Twain, an American writer of the nineteenth century, set out to test Darwin’s theory of human evolution. Twain publicized his essay called The Lowest Animal, which explains why our(humans) descent is from higher animals. Both men seem to find significance in this topic as they both provide plenty of evidence to back up their notions while people in their time had no clue.
There’s a saying that goes “Money is the root of all evil”. Most people believe that though I disagree with that. I believe that we as human beings are the root of all evil in this world. Every person has evil in them. Some just have more evil than others. Some can control their evil while others can’t. Every person has two sides to them. Just like a Cherokee Indian told his grandson. He said “My son the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith”. While money is simply a piece of paper, that represents wealth and holds monetary value. Money is something we use to survive and also acquire the things that we want.

The different qualities and personalities each individual on earth expresses represents how diverse the planet is which is an indication of how creatures have evolved overtime. Amongst these individuals there are mean-spirited folks or nice-spirited folks, there may even be people who are both depending on the day. When describing The nice-spirited persons the qualities often implicate the term generous. What is generosity? Why are people generous? The further we comprehend this word, the better we are able to judge on it, and answer the proposed questions.
All humans are selfish on instinct, the will to survive being an innate trait that all humans are born with, but most people don’t give this selfishness a second thought despite having the brain power to do so. It has become so natural for people to act based on their own personal interests that someone who observes more than acts can see the consequences that come with that way of living. In my life I observe far too many people around me making selfish decisions to only benefit themselves. I can willingly admit I’m not the pinnacle of selflessness either, since selfishness is a survival mechanism that is deeply ingrained in the human DNA, but I spare people second thoughts and glances. I instill deep emotional values and strive towards being a selfless being in my daily life.
Long time ago, before the Second Agricultural Revolution, people produced food only enough to feed themselves and their family members. After a series of agricultural revolutions, mankind earned the ability to produce massive amount of food due to the advancement of technology and science. However, this advancement brought the Industrial Revolution. As a result of the Industrial Revolution, the amount of workers that are working in the agricultural field decreased significantly. Due to the advancement of technology, we need less people to produce food, and more people in factories. The decrease of the agricultural worker was not really a problem because they could produce more food with less people due to machines. Therefore, nowadays, not
